The thermodynamic features of the reiner-rivlin nanoliquid flow induced by a spinning disk are analyzed *** non-homogeneous two-phase nanofluid model is considered to analyze the effect of nanoparticles on the thermodynamics of the reiner-rivlin nanomaterial,which also includes a temperature-dependent heat source(THS)and an exponential space-dependent heat source(ESHS).Further,the transfer of heat and mass is analyzed with velocity slip,volume fraction jump,and temperature jump boundary *** finite difference method-based routine is used to solve the complicated differential equations formed after using the von-karman similarity *** cases of the present problem are found to be in good agreement with benchmarking *** relationship of the pertinent parameters with the heat and mass transport is scrutinized using correlation,which is further evaluated based on the probable error *** models are fitted for the friction factor at the disk and heat transport,which accurately predict the dependent *** reiner-rivlin nanoliquid temperature is influenced comparatively more by the ESHS than by *** Nusselt number is decreased by the ESHS and THS,whereas the friction factor at the disk is predominantly decremented by the wall roughness *** increment in the non-Newtonian characteristic of the liquid leads more fluid to drain away in the radial direction far from the disk compared with the fluid nearby the disk in the presence of the centrifugal force during *** increased thermal and volume fraction slip lowers the nanoliquid temperature and nanoparticle volume fraction profiles.

Current global warming is particularly pronounced in the Arctic and arthropods are expected to respond rapidly to these changes. Long-term studies of individual arthropod species from the Arctic are, however, virtually absent. We examined butterfly specimens collected from yellow pitfall traps over 14 years （1996-2009） at Zackenberg in high-arctic, north-east Greenland. Specimens were previously sorted to the family level. We identified them to the species level and examined long-term species-specific phenological responses to recent summer wanning. Two species were rare in the samples （Polaris fritillary Boloria polaris and Arctic blue Plebejus glandon） and statistical analyses of phenological responses were therefore restricted to the two most abundant species （Arctic fritillary, B. chariclea and Northern clouded yellow Colias hecla）. Our analyses demonstrated a trend towards earlier flight seasons in B. chariclea, but not in C. hecla. The timing of onset, peak and end of the flight season in B. chariclea were closely related to snowmelt, july temperature and their interaction, whereas onset, peak and end of the flight season in C. hecla were only related to timing of snowmelt. The duration of the butterfly flight season was significantly positively related to the temporal overlap with floral resources in both butterfly species. We further demonstrate that yellow pitfall traps are a useful alternative to transect walks for butterfly recording in tundra habitats. More phenological studies of Arctic arthropods should be carded out at the species level and ideally be analysed in context with interacting species to assess how ongoing climate change will affect Arctic biodiversity in the near future [Current Zoology 60 （2）： 243-251, 2014].

Atomically dispersed precious metal catalysts maximize atom efficiency and exhibit unique ***,they are susceptible to *** reactions occurring in reducing environments tend to result in atomically dispersed metals sintering at lower temperatures than in oxidative or inert atmospheres due to the formation of mobile metal-H or metal-CO ***,we develop a new approach to mitigate sintering of oxide supported atomically dispersed metals in a reducing atmosphere using organophosphonate self-assembled monolayers(SAMs).We demonstrate this for the case of atomically dispersed rh on Al_(2)O_(3) and TiO_(2) using a combination of CO probe molecule FTIr,temperature programmed desorption,and alkene hydrogenation rate *** suggests that SAM functionalization of the oxide provides physical diffusion barriers for the metal and weakens the interactions between the reducing gas and metal,thereby discouraging the adsorbate-promoted diffusion of metal atoms on oxide *** results show that support functionalization by organic species can provide improved resistance to sintering of atomically dispersed metals with maintained catalytic reactivity.

Event-triggered bipartite consensus over cooperation-competition networks under DoS attacks

This paper addresses the bipartite consensus over cooperation-competition networks affected by denial-of-service(DoS) *** that a network consists of multiple interactive agents, and the relationship between neighboring agents is cooperative or competitive. Meanwhile, information transmission among the agents is unavailable during the intervals of attacks. In order to save communication resources and exclude the Zeno behavior, an event-triggered scheme depending on the sampled-data information from neighboring agents is proposed, and efficient defense strategies in response to the attacks are put *** that the frequency and duration of DoS attacks meet certain requirements, then according to the signed graph theory,the La Salle’s invariance principle, and the convergence of monotone sequences, the results of bipartite consensus via the eventtriggered protocol are provided, which are mainly related to the communication topology of the network, the sampling period,and the threshold parameters in the event-triggered scheme. It is shown that the bipartite consensus is realized even though the DoS attacks take place frequently. Furthermore, this paper discusses the bipartite consensus in the presence of DoS attacks with a random unsuccessful rate. Finally, numerical simulations illustrate the theoretical results.

As system identification theory and model predictive control are belonged to two different research fields separately,so one gap exists between these two *** alleviate this gap between them,one new idea proposed in this paper is to introduce system identification theory into model predictive *** the most important element in model predictive control is the prediction of the output value for a nonlinear system,then the problem of deriving the prediction of the output value can be achieved by system identification *** specifically,a Bayesian approach is applied for the nonparametric estimation by modeling the prediction as realizations of zero mean random *** comparing this kind of prediction corresponding to this Bayesian approach and the former direct weight optimization identification for nonlinear system,the authors see that if the unknown weights are chosen appropriately,these two approaches are equivalent to each *** on the obtained prediction of the output value,the authors substitute this prediction of the output value into one cost function of model predictive control,and then a quadratic programming problem with inequality constraints is *** to solve this quadratic programming problem,a detailed process about how to derive its dual form is *** the dual problem has a simple constraint set,it is amenable to the use of the common Gauss-Seidel algorithm,whose convergence can be shown ***,one simulation example confirms the proposed theoretical results.

The effect of short-range ordering (SrO) on the low-cycle fatigue (LCF) behavior of low solid-solution hardening Ni-Cr alloys with high stacking fault energies (SFEs) was systematically studied under cycling at constant total strain amplitude (Δε t /2) in the range of 0.1%–0.7%. The results show that an inducement of SrO structures can notably improve the fatigue life of the alloy regardless of Δε t /2, and several unique fatigue characteristics have been detected, including the transition of fatigue cracking mode from intergranular cracking to slip band cracking, the non-negligible evolution from non-Masing behavior in pure Ni to Masing behavior in the Ni-40Cr alloy, and the secondary cyclic hardening behavior in the Ni-10Cr and Ni-20Cr alloys. All these experimental phenomena are tightly associated with the transformation in cyclic deformation mechanisms that is induced by SrO based on the “glide plane softening” effect. Furthermore, a comprehensive fatigue life prediction model based on total hysteresis energy has been reasonably proposed, focusing on the analyses of the macroscopic model parameters (namely the fatigue cracking resistance exponent β and the crack propagation resistance parameter W 0 ) and microscopic damage mechanisms. In brief, on the premise that the effects of SFE and friction stress can be nearly ignored, as in the case of the present low solid-solution hardening Ni-Cr alloys with high SFEs, an enhancement of SrO in face-centered cubic metals has been convincingly confirmed to be an effective strategy to improve their LCF performance.

This article examines the capability of Gaussian process regression(GPr)for prediction of effective stress parameter(χ)of unsaturated *** method proceeds by parameterising a covariance function,and then infers the parameters given the data *** variables of GPr are net confining pressure(σ_(3)),saturated volumetric water content(θ_(s)),residual water content(θ_(r)),bubbling pressure(h_(b)),suction(s)and fitting parameter(l).A comparative study has been carried out between the developed GPr and Artificial Neural Network(ANN)models.A sensitivity analysis has been done to determine the effect of each input parameter onχ.The developed GPr gives the variance of predictedχ.The results show that the developed GPr is reliable model for prediction ofχof unsaturated soil.

The corrosion behavior of two different aged LY12 alloys in EXCO （234g/L NaCl, 50g/L kNO3 0.1M HNO3） and MIL-H-600 （35g/L NaCl, 5g/L （NH4）2SO4） solutions were studied using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy （EIS） in conjunction with SEM technique respectively, and the pH variation of the above accelerated corrosion solution during materials corroding was also measured to characterize the corrosion processes. At the beginning of corrosion, EIS plots exhibited two capacitive arcs in the high frequency range （Cd） and mediate frequency range （ Cf） originating from the original corroded surface and the newly formed interface respectively, and a low frequency inductive loop due to the relaxation phenomenon of reaction intermediates. In the EXCO,solution, the EIS results showed that once the exfoliation corrosion occurred, the inductive loop disappeared. The results also showed that the exfoliation corrosion susceptibility of state T6 is much higher than that of state T3, but the intergranular corrosion susceptibility has a reverse order. Based on the relationship of EIS results with SEM and metalloscopy morphologies of the corroding substrates and physic-chemical meaning of EIS parameters, an index （Cf/Cd） has been proposed to characterize the extent of the localized corrosion, which variation tallies with the real corrosion extent correctly. Meanwhile, good agreement was found between the experimental results and the electrochemical model proposed and, good coherence between the electrochemical features and the distribution type of constituent particles of corroding material was observed.
