CO oxidation under lean and stoichiometric conditions over ceriazirconia with very low metal contents(Cu,Co,Ag and Pt)

In this work,several ceria-zirconia based catalysts with very lo w(and equimolar) metal contents were prepared,characterised and tested for the CO oxidatio n reaction(under lean and stoichiometric conditions),trying to emulate those conditions found in a diesel oxidation catalyst(DOC) system from a diesel engine and those encountered under gasoline exhaust(λ=1).The metals chosen are Cu,Co,Ag and Pt(as a reliable benchmark).The results reveal enormous differences among reducibility and catalytic activity despite quite similar structural and textural properties of the catalysts,showing differences among dispersion(Ag-catalyst seems to present a low level of dispersion).This catalyst seems to be characterised,as well,by a strong electronic interaction between Ce and Ag centres which is suggested to yield an improved reducibility under H_(2)-TPR ***,the order in catalytic activity(Cu>Ag>Co≈Pt>>support) seems not to follow the order found in reducibility and the Cu-catalyst seems to be the most active independently on the reaction conditions,yielding nearly overlapped CO oxidation catalytic *** restingly,a stro ng correlation between the catalytic activity under the two conditions tested and the OSC values of the Ce_(0.8)Zr_(0.2)O_(2)-supported metal catalysts is ***,OSC parameter measured at 150℃ can be used as a relevant descriptor to evaluate the CO oxidation activity at low and medium conversions for the investigated catalysts,much better than the H_(2)-TPR measurements.

Systematic optimization of the photocatalyst and investigation of the role of each component is important to maximizing catalytic activity and comprehending the photocatalytic conversion of CO_(2) reduction to solar fuels.A surface-modified Ag@Ru-P25 photocatalyst with H_(2)O_(2) treatment was designed in this study to convert CO_(2) and H_(2)O vapor into highly selective *** doping followed by Ag nanoparticles(NPs)cocatalyst deposition on P25(TiO_(2))enhances visible light absorption and charge separation,whereas H_(2)O_(2) treatment modifies the surface of the photocatalyst with hydroxyl(–OH)groups and promotes CO_(2) ***-resonance transmission electron microscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,X-ray absorption near-edge structure,and extended X-ray absorption fine structure techniques were used to analyze the surface and chemical composition of the photocatalyst,while thermogravimetric analysis,CO_(2) adsorption isotherm,and temperature programmed desorption study were performed to examine the significance of H_(2)O_(2) treatment in increasing CO_(2) reduction *** optimized Ag1.0@Ru1.0-P25 photocatalyst performed excellent CO_(2) reduction activity into CO,CH4,and C2H6 with a~95%selectivity of CH4,where the activity was~135 times higher than that of pristine TiO_(2)(P25).For the first time,this work explored the effect of H_(2)O_(2) treatment on the photocatalyst that dramatically increases CO_(2) reduction activity.

Enhancement of low-temperature toughness of Fe-mn-C-Al alloy by rare earth Ce-modified inclusions

Fe-mn-C-Al alloys have been recognized as promising materials for certain low-temperature applications due to their exceptional mechanical properties and ***,their limited low-temperature toughness restricts their large-scale applications in specific *** influence of trace amounts of rare earth cerium(Ce)on the low-temperature toughness of Fe-18mn-0.6C-1.8Al alloys was *** addition of Ce effectively alters the inclu-sions in the alloy,transforming large-sized irregular inclusions into fine ellipsoidal rare earth *** leads to a significant reduction in both the proportion and average size of the inclusions,resulting in their effective dispersion throughout the matrix and improved cryogenic *** presence of Ce-containing inclusions within the matrix reduces stress concentration,thereby inhibiting microcrack formation and improving impact absorption ***-cally,the addition of rare earth Ce alters the fracture behavior of the material at room temperature and low temperature,changing from brittle cleavage fracture to a more ductile failure *** impact toughness of the Fe-mn-C-Al alloy is significantly improved by the addition of 0.0048 wt.%Ce,particularly at-196℃where the impact toughness reaches 103.6 j/cm^(2),representing an impressive improvement of 87.3%.

Enhanced mechanical property by introducing bimodal grains structures in Cu-Ta alloys fabricated by mechanical alloying

Dispersion-strengthened copper alloys can achieve ultra-high strength,but usually at the expense of *** this study,a strategy for overcoming strength-ductility tradeoffof Cu alloys is realized through the introduction of bimodal grains ***-Ta alloys with only 0.5 at.%Ta content were successfully prepared by mechanical alloying combined with spark plasm *** samples prepared by one-step and two-step ball milling methods are named as Cu-Ta(Ⅰ)and Cu-Ta(Ⅱ),*** microstructural characterizations revealed that ultra-fine equiaxed grains with uniformly dispersed Ta precipitates were obtained in the Cu-Ta *** strength of 377 mPa for yield strength together with elongation of∼8%was obtained in Cu-Ta(Ⅰ).Bimodal grains structures composed of fine-grain zones and coarse-grain zones were successfully introduced into Cu-Ta(Ⅱ)by a two-step ball milling approach,and both yield strength(463 mPa)and elongation(∼15%)were significantly synergistic *** hardness values of both Cu-Ta(Ⅰ)and Cu-Ta(Ⅱ)were almost kept nearly constant with the increase of annealing time,and the softening temperatures of Cu-Ta(Ⅰ)and Cu-Ta(Ⅱ)are 1018 and 1013℃,reaching 93.9%and 93.5%T m of pure Cu(1083℃),*** reveals that the Cu-0.5 at.%Ta alloys exhibit excellent thermal stability and exceptional softening *** nanoclusters with semi-coherent structures play an essential role in enhancing the strength and microstructural stability of *** structures are beneficial to the activation of back stress strengthening and the initiation and propagation of microcracks,thus obtaining the extraordinary combination of strength and *** study provides a new way to fabricate dispersion-strengthened Cu alloys with high strength,high elongation,excellent thermal stability and softening resistance,which have potential application value in the field of the future fusion reactor.

While newer,more efficient Lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)and extinguishing agents have been developed to reduce the occurrence of thermal runaway accidents,there is still a scarcity of research focused on the application of surfactants in different LIBs extinguishing agents,particularly in terms of patented *** aim of this review paper is to provide an overview of the technological progress of LIBs and LIBs extinguishing agents in terms of patents in Korea,japan,Europe,the United States,China,*** initial part of this review paper is sort out LIBs technology development in different *** addition,to compare LIBs extinguishing agent progress and challenges of liquid,solid,combination of multiple,and *** subsequent section of this review focuses on an in-depth analysis dedicated to the efficiency and challenges faced by the surfactants corresponding design principles of LIBs extinguishing agents,such as nonionic and anionic surfactants.A total of 451,760 LIBs-related patent and 20 LIBs-fire-extinguishing agent-related patent were included in the *** extinguishing effect,cooling performance,and anti-recombustion on different agents have been *** a comprehensive comparison of these agents,this review suggests that temperature-sensitive hydrogel extinguishing agent is ideal for the effective control of LIBs *** progress and challenges of surfactants have been extensively examined,focusing on key factors such as surface activity,thermal stability,foaming properties,environmental friendliness,and electrical ***,it is crucial to emphasize that the selection of a suitable surfactant must align with the extinguishing strategy of the extinguishing agent for optimal firefighting effectiveness.

In this work,the phase evolution mechanism and nanomechanical properties of(CoCrNi))(82)Al_(9)Ti_(9)high-entropy alloy(HEA)prepared by selective laser melting(SLm)in the molten pool were *** HEA contains multiple primary elements and undergoes high-temperature gradient and rapid cooling during *** leads to significant inhomogeneity of nano-scale microstructure characteristics and instability of *** optimizing process parameters,the microstructure evolution at the optimal parameter volume energy density of 440 j/mm^(3)was studied.A phase transition from BCC to FCC occurred in the melt *** the micro-area of the melt pool results in a temperature rise and the combustion-induced loss of Al ***,the Ni element content increases significantly outside the melt *** process enhances the phase stability of FCC and facilitates phase ***,rapid cooling leads to the formation of distinctive ultrafine equiaxial crystals inside the melt pool,accompanied by the generation of intracrystalline needle-like nano-scale *** the melt pool,the accumulation of energy results in the formation of coarse ***,the nano-hardness inside the molten pool is remarkably high at 11.79 GPa,while the outside the molten pool is reduced to 9.58 *** the fracture toughness outside the melt pool also *** with inside the melt pool,the residual stress outside the melt pool changed from compressive to tensile stress and decreased from 603.28 to 322.84 mPa.

Grain size refinement of additive manufactured Ce-TZP ceramics by coupled two-step pre-sintering and HIP

Ceria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystal(Ce-TZP)has exceptional fracture toughness and flaw tolerance due to facile t‒m phase transformation ***,its wider-range applications are limited by its relatively low strength due to its large grain size and low transformation stress,which results in yield-like ***,we combined additive manufacturing(Am),pressureless two-step sintering,and hot isostatic pressing(HIP),and addressed the challenging grain size refinement problem in *** successfully produced dense ultrafine-grained Ce-TZP ceramics with an average grain size below 500 nm,a three-point bending strength above 800 mPa,and a single-edge-notch-beam fracture toughness in the range of 11‒12 mPa·m^(1/2).The critical roles of processing design,mixed Ce valences,and ***-stabilization of tetragonal polymorphs were *** work offers insights and strategies for the future development of stronger and tougher Ce-TZP ceramics that can compete with tetragonal yttria-stabilized zirconia in various applications,including additive manufacturing.

The Flooding Pampa grasslands are the last remnant of the Rio de la Plata grasslands in ***-genic interventions have led to severe degradation and,as a result,the ecosystem services provided by the grass-lands are declining,in terms of provisioning,regulating,and supporting *** synthesized the existing literature on the ecosystem goods and services provided by these grasslands under grazing in different conditions and conservation *** found that plant and animal diversity and primary production are the most studied ecosystem services,while climate regulation,water supply,nutrient cycling,meat production and erosion control,in that order,are less *** services are *** grazing and glyphosate spraying are the main drivers of grassland *** grazing and conservative stocking rates have been shown to reverse degradation and demonstrate that livestock production is compatible with ecosystem conserva-tion by maintaining regulating and provisioning *** these management strategies are poorly integrated,improving their implementation will require important changes in farmers’decisions and the development of policies that create the economic conditions for this to *** is needed to understand the conditions that prevent the knowledge generated from being transferred to producers and translated into practices that would improve the provision of ecosystem services.
