Dielectric relaxation spectroscopy（DRS） of poly（ε-caprolactone） with different draw ratios showed that the mobility of polymer chains in the amorphous part decreases as the draw ratio increases. The activation energy of the α process, which corresponds to the dynamic glass transition, increases upon drawing. The enlarged gap between the activation energies of the α process and the β process results in a change of continuity at the crossover between the high temperature a process and the α and β processes. At low drawing ratios the a process connects with the β process, while at the highest drawing ratio in our measurements, the a process is continuous with the αprocess. This is consistent with X-ray diffraction results that indicate that upon drawing the polymer chains in the amorphous part align and densify upon drawing. As the draw ratio increases, the α relaxation broadens and decreases its intensity, indicating an increasing heterogeneity. We observed slope changes in the α traces, when the temperature decreases below that at which τα≈ 1 s. This may indicate the glass transition from the ‘rubbery＇ state to the non-equilibrium glassy state.

microstructure, tensile and impact toughness properties and fracture location of friction stir welded AISI 1018 mild steel were revealed. The AISI 1018 mild steel plates with thickness of 5 mm were friction stir welded by tungsten based alloy tool with tool rotational speed of 1 000 r/min and welding speed of 50 ram/rain. Tensile strength of stir zone is higher （8%） compared to that of the base metal. This may be due to the formation of finer grains in the weld nugget region under the stirring action of the rotating tool. The ductility and impact toughness of the joints are decreased compared to those of the base metal owing to the inclusion of tungsten particles in the weld region.

In this paper we describe a route to produce crystalline mg（OH）2 nanopowders from serpentinite ore distributed in the Halilovskiy array （Russia, Orenburg region）. An efficient extraction route consisting of treatment on serpentinite in 40% HNO3 at 80 ℃followed by NH4OH titration for mg（OH）2 precipitation was demonstrated. In this study, crystalline mg（OH）2 nanopowders have been synthesized by solvothermal reaction method using （mg（NO3）2·6H2O） which were obtained from serpentinite, NH4OH as a precipitator, and hydroxyethylated nonylphenol as surface-active substance. microstructure and phase composition of samples were investigated employing scanning electron microscopy （SEm） and transmission electron microscopy （TEm）, X-ray phase analysis （XRD）, and inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy （ICP-OES）. XRD reveals that mg（OH）2 nanopowder with high purity has the brucite structure. It was found that crystalline mg（OH）2 nanopowders exclusively consist of lamellar-like structures and the sizes of mg（OH）2 are 30-265 nm length or width.

Recently application of functionally graded materials（FGms） have attracted a great deal of interest. These materials are composed of various materials with different micro-structures which can vary spatially in FGms. Such composites with varying thickness and non-uniform pressure can be used in the aerospace engineering. Therefore, analysis of such composite is of high importance in engineering problems. Thermoelastic analysis of functionally graded cylinder with variable thickness under non-uniform pressure is considered. First order shear deformation theory and total potential energy approach is applied to obtain the governing equations of non-homogeneous cylinder. Considering the inner and outer solutions, perturbation series are applied to solve the governing equations. Outer solution for out of boundaries and more sensitive variable in inner solution at the boundaries are considered. Combining of inner and outer solution for near and far points from boundaries leads to high accurate displacement field distribution. The main aim of this paper is to show the capability of matched asymptotic solution for different non-homogeneous cylinders with different shapes and different non-uniform pressures. The results can be used to design the optimum thickness of the cylinder and also some properties such as high temperature residence by applying non-homogeneous material.

I use to say that in science, one cannot say what is right, but one can say what is wrong. And a model is, by definition, wrong, otherwise it is not a modet, it is the truth. Being aware that a model aims to mimic the truth but witl never be the truth, the onty worth questions asking to a model are：（1） How wrong are we？ And （2） Why are we wrong？ The tatter questions the foundations of the model, and is mainty the concerns of A. j. （Tom） van Loon＇s comments （2015, this issue）. The first questions the accuracy of the outcomes, and corresponds more to G. Shanmugam＇s comments （2015, this issue）. I am grad that our paper has aroused so rapidty as much feedbacks and comments, sometimes even before the manuscript is definitely pubtished. We hope this paper witl keep on inspiring various axes of research and opening new avenues in geosciences. Detaited answers to the comments raised by A. j. （Tom） van Loon and G. Shanmugam among others would certainty deserve a book, so my repty witl just focus herein around the two aforementioned questions.

The coarsening behavior of four quench-aged Fe-Ni-AI alloys with different Ni and Al con tents is *** alloys were solubilized at 1100℃for 24 h,water-quenched and aged at 850℃for periods ranging from 1 to 100 h to promote phase separation and *** two alloys with the highest combined Ni and Al contents(>35 at.%)showed signs of spinodal decomposition,while the alloys with lower Ni and Al contents followed a classical nucleation *** Ni and Al contents promoted an increase in NiAl(β′)phase fraction in concordance with phase equilibrium *** alloy with the highest[3'fraction presented a completely interconnected *** coarsening ofβ′particles in the other three alloys followed the predictions of the Lifshitz-Slyozov-Wagner(LSW)*** general trend was an increase in the coarsening kinetics with higher Ni and Al *** highest hardness was found in the alloys with higher fraction albeit these compositions are less resistant to coarsening and have been reported to present a low room-temperature ductility.

We studied the multilayering effects of InGaAs quantum dots(QDs) on GaAs(731), a surface lying inside of the stereographic triangle. The surfaces after stacking 16 InGaAs layers were characterized with highly non-uniformity of QD spatial distribution. The bunched step regions driven by strain accumulation are decorated by QDs, therefore GaAs(731) becomes a good candidate substrate for the growth of QD clusters. The unique optical properties of the QD clusters are revealed by photoluminescence measurements. By adjusting the coverage of InGaAs, a bamboo-like nanostructured surface was observed and the quantum dots aligned up in clusters to separate the "bamboo" into sections.

Comprehensive studies identify motor neuron spectrum disorders including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS)as globally rising fatal disorders with the highest prevalence in aging populations,influenced by ethnicity and ancestry(GBD 2016 motor Neuron Disease Colla borators,2018).While~10% of diagnoses involve a family history(fALS),most cases are considered sporadic(sALS).However,population-based studies suggest that even cases without a common index mutation impart heritability(Ryan et al.,2019),indicating a crucial role of rare and as yet unknown genetic denominators.
