＜正＞The aim of this paper is to use the thermoelastic stress analysis （TSA） technique to determine the load transfer mechanisms in sandwich construction tee joints, which have been environmentally aged, and to assess how their performance has changed with respect to the unaged case. An extensive literature review has shown that although a wealth of information exists on the long-term performance of FRP materials exposed to hygrothermal environments, the behaviour of aged composite sandwich structures has not been addressed. The purpose of this work is to begin to fill this void.

Thermal processes on the Tibetan Plateau(TP)influence atmospheric conditions on regional and global *** this,previous work has shown that soil moisture−driven surface flux variations feed back onto the *** soil moisture is a source of atmospheric predictability,no study has evaluated soil moisture−atmosphere coupling on the TP in general circulation models(GCms).In this study,we use several analysis techniques to assess soil moisture−atmosphere coupling in CmIP6 simulations including:instantaneous coupling indices;analysis of flux and atmospheric behaviour during dry spells;and a quantification of the preference for convection over drier *** these metrics we partition feedbacks into their atmospheric and terrestrial *** with previous global studies,we conclude substantial inter-model differences in the representation of soil moisture−atmosphere coupling,and that most models underestimate such *** on dry spell analysis,most models underestimate increased sensible heat during periods of rainfall *** example,the model-mean bias in anomalous sensible heat flux is 10 W m−2(≈25%)smaller compared to *** dry-spell sensible heat fluxes lead to a weaker atmospheric *** also find that most GCms fail to capture the negative feedback between soil moisture and deep *** poor simulation of feedbacks in CmIP6 experiments suggests that forecast models also struggle to exploit soil moisture−driven *** improve the representation of land−atmosphere feedbacks requires developments in not only atmospheric modelling,but also surface processes,as we find weak relationships between rainfall biases and coupling indexes.

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

Geographic simulation models can be used to explore and better understand the geographical environment. Recent advances in geographic and socio-environmental research have led to a dramatic increase in the number of models used for this purpose. Some model repositories provide opportunities for users to explore and apply models,but few provide a general evaluation method for assessing the applicability and recognition of models. In this study,an academic impact evaluation method for models is proposed. Five indices are designed based on their pertinence. The analytical hierarchy process is used to calculate the index weights,and the academic impacts of models are quantified with the weighted sum method. The time range is controlled to evaluate the life-term and annual academic impacts of the models. Some models that met the evaluation criteria from different domains are then evaluated. The results show that the academic impact of a model can be quantified with the proposed method,and the major research areas that models impact are identified.

Pest preference and subsequent susceptibility of a host individual is likely related to previous growth patterns in that *** ash borer(Agrilus planipennis Fairmaire)is a pestiferous beetle introduced to North America from *** all species of ash are susceptible to attack,some individual trees appear to survive *** selected ash trees in southeastern michigan,collected cores and categorized trees as high tolerance to emerald ash borer attack(high overall health,low crown dieback),low tolerance(low overall health,high crown dieback)and intermediate tolerance(in-between the other categories).We artificially wounded trees and measured wound closure after 3 *** width indices were not correlated between high and low tolerance *** slopes comparing growth and years were significantly different between the three tolerance categories,with high tolerance trees having the steepest *** closure was greatest in high tolerance *** tolerance trees demonstrating more rapid(steeper regression slope),consistent(lower variance),and effective(greater wound closure)*** vigorously growing trees likely had more capacity to repair damage caused by emerald ash borer,leading to healthier trees in our *** previous host growth patterns to health may have implications related to identifying individual trees potentially tolerant to attack.

AIm To determine the incidence and risk factors for mechanical complications(mC) after surgical correction of adult spinal deformity(ASD) with *** A retrospective study was performed. Inclusion criteria: Surgical correction of ASD using osteotomy; male or female; > 20 years old; follow-up ≥ 24 mo or revision. The mC of spine and spinal instrumentation were studied separately. Risk analysis included assessment of the association between more than 50 different characteristics(demographic,clinical,radiographic,and instrumentation) with different types of *** The medical records of 94 operations in 88 subjects were analyzed: Female(68%),mean age 58.6(SD,12.7) years. Cumulative incidence of mC at 2 year follow-up was 43.6%. Of these,78% required revision(P mC:(1) Preoperative: osteoporosis,smoking,previous spinal operation,sagittal vertical axis(SVA) > 100 mm,lumbar lordosis(LL) 75 mm; operative correction: SVA > 75 mm,LL > 30°,thoracic kyphosis > 25°,and pelvic tilt > 9°; a fall; pseudarthrosis; and(3) device and surgical technique: use of previously implanted instrumentation; use of domino and/or parallel connectors; type of osteotomy(PSO vs SPO) if preoperative SVA mm; lumbar osteotomy location; in-situ rod contouring > 60°; and fixation to sacrum/*** Risk of mC after surgical correction of ASD is substantial. To decrease this risk over-and/or insufficient correction of the sagittal imbalance should be avoided.

Background: Patients with prosopagnosia from occipitotemporal lesions have impaired perception of the configuration of facial features. This may be an example of impaired “within-object”spatial coding, which others propose to be distinct from “between-object”spatial coding. Objective: To determine whether the prosopagnosic deficit in perceiving spatial configuration was specific to within-face and not between-face spatial coding and whether the deficit was face-selective or extended to objects other than faces. methods: Six prosopagnosic patients were tested using an oddity paradigm in which they detected which of three simultaneously seen stimuli was an altered target. In the “within-face”task, the target face had altered interocular distance or mouth position. In the “between-face”task, the target face was located farther away from the other two. In the “within-object”task, the stimulus was a two-dot pattern, and the target pattern had altered interdot distance. Results: Spatial judgments were impaired within faces for all six patients and within the two-dot pattern for five of six patients. However, all six had normal between-face spatial perception. Conclusions: Impaired perception of spatial relations in prosopagnosia is selective to the spatial structure within individual objects and spares the perception of spatial location of objects. It is not specific to faces. It reveals a process involved in analyzing object structure, consistent with the patients’deficits in recognizing facial identity, and illustrates a different type of “visuospatial”defect.
