Stresses in epitaxial and textured Al films were determined by substrate-curvature measurements. It was found that in both cases the flow stresses increase with decreasing film thickness. The flow stresses in the epitaxial Al films are in agreement with a dislocation-based model, while the same model strongly underestimates the flow stresses of textured Al films. In-situ transmission electron microscopy studies indicate that dislocations channeling through epitaxial Al films on single-crystalline (0001) α-AI2O3 substrates frequently deposit dislocation segments adjacent to the interface. Furthermore, the AI/α-AI2O3 interface acted as a dislocation source. In this case, the interface is between two crystalline lattices. In contrast, the interface of textured Al films on oxidized silicon substrates is between the crystalline Al and the amorphous SiOx interlayer. It is speculated that the different nature of the interfaces changes dislocation mechanisms and thus influences the flow stresses.

In arbitrary Riemannian 4-spaces, continuity equations are constructed which could be interpreted as conservation laws for the energy and momentum of the gravitational field. Special attention is given to general relativity to obtain, of natural manner, the pseudotensors of Einstein, Landau-Lifshitz, Moeller, goldberg and Stachel, and also the conservation equations of Komar, Trautman, DuPlessis and Moss.

The creep strength enhanced martensitic steels are key material for the main power generating units in ultra-supercritical *** on the evaluation of their creep rupture life show there is an overestimation of rupture life after long-term creep,which is known as premature ***,the microstructural origin of the premature failure remains *** in this study,we have carefully investigated the microstructural transformations and their influences on creep rupture behavior,showing that the evolution of martensite and M_(23)C_(6) carbides as well as Laves phase are responsible for the premature *** using multi-step TTP-LMP method,we confirmed a three-stage creep rupture behavior under different stress *** quantitative analysis showed that the coarsening of M_(23)C_(6) carbides and recovery of martensite exert equal and dominant effects on the premature failure in the medium stress region,while precipitation and coarsening of Laves phase are responsible for the premature failure in the low stress region.

In the present investigation we define a new class of meromorphic functions on the punctured unit disk A△^＊：= {z ∈ C ： 0 〈｜z｜〈 1} by making use of the generalized Dziok-Srivastava operator Hm^l [α1]. Coefficient inequalities, growth and distortion inequalities, as well as closure results are obtained. We also establish some results concerning the partial sums of meromorphic functions and neighborhood results for functions in new class.

This Special Issue is directed to reviewing the lessons learned from the most public, fervent and durable controversy in the short history of Andrology, the claims of world-wide falling sperm counts, due to global pollution by industrial estrogenic chemicals, published two decades ago.

Care should be taken to minimize adverse impact of receiver differential code biases(DCBs) on global navigation satellite system(gNSS)-derived ionospheric parameters. It is therefore of importance to ascertain the intrinsic characteristics of receiver DCBs,preferably in the context of new-generation gNSS. In this contribution, we present a method that enables time-wise retrieval of between-receiver DCBs(BR-DCBs) from dualfrequency, code-only measurements collected by a pair of co-located receivers. This method is applicable to the US gPS as well as to a new set of gNSS constellations including the Chinese Bei Dou, the European galileo and the japanese QZSS. With the use of this method, we determine the multi-gNSS BR-DCB time-wise estimates covering a time period of up to 2 years(january 2013–March 2015) with a 30-s time resolution for five receiverpairs(four zero and one short baselines). For the BR-DCB time-wise estimates pertaining to an arbitrary receiver-pair and constellation, we demonstrate their promising intraday stability by means of statistical hypothesis testing. We also find that the Bei Dou BR-DCB daily weighted average(DWA) estimates show a dependence on satellite type, in particular for receiver-pairs of mixed types. Finally, we demonstrate that long-term variability in BR-DCB DWA estimates can be closely associated with hardware temperature variations inside the receivers.

Erectile response is centrally and peripherally regulated by androgens. The original insights into the mechanisms of action of androgens were that androgens particularly exert effects on libido and that erections in response to erotic stimuli were relatively androgen-independent. It was shown that sexual functions in men required androgen levels at the low end of reference values of testosterone. So it seemed that testosterone was not useful treatment for men with erectile difficulties, particularly following the advent of the phosphodiesterase type 5 （PDE5） inhibitors. However, approximately 50% of those treated with PDE5 inhibitors discontinue their treatment. A number of recent developments shed new light on testosterone treatment of erectile dysfunction （ED） in aging men. （1） A recent insight is that, in contrast to younger men, elderly men might require higher levels of testosterone for normal sexual functioning. （2） Several studies have indicated that PDE5 inhibitors are not always sufficient to restore erectile potency in men, and that testosterone improves the therapeutical response to PDE5 inhibitors considerably. （3） There is growing insight that testosterone has profound effects on tissues of the penis involved in the mechanism of erection and that testosterone deficiency impairs the anatomical and physiological substrate of erectile capacity, reversible upon androgen replacement. The synthesis of PDE5 is upregulated by androgens, and the arterial inflow into the penis is improved by giving androgen. The above invites a re-examination of the merits of giving testosterone to aging men with ED. The beneficial effects of PDE5 inhibitors may only be optimally expressed in a eugonadal environment. （Asian j Androl 2006 jan; 8： 3-9）

Defense-related terpenoid biosynthesis in conifers is a dynamic process closely associated with specialized anatomical structures that allows conifers to cope with attack from many potential pests and pathogens. The constitutive and inducible terpenoid defense of conifers involves several hundred different monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes and diterpenes. Changing arrays of these many compounds are formed from the general isoprenoid pathway by activities of large gene families for two classes of enzymes, the terpene synthases and the cytochrome P450-dependent monooxygenases of the CYP720B group. Extensive studies have been conducted on the genomics, proteomics and molecular biochemical characterization of these enzymes. Many of the conifer terpene synthases are multi-product enzymes, and the P450 enzymes of the CYP720B group are promiscuous in catalyzing multiple oxidations, along homologous series of diterpenoids, from a broad spectrum of substrates. The terpene synthases and CYP720B genes respond to authentic or simulated insect attack with increased transcript levels, protein abundance and enzyme activity. The constitutive and induced oleoresin terpenoids for conifer defense accumulate in preformed cortical resin ducts and in xylem trauma-associated resin ducts. Formation of these resin ducts de novo in the cambium zone and developing xylem, following insect attack or treatment of trees with methyl jasmonate, is a unique feature of the induced defense of long-lived conifer trees.
