seagrass meadows are at increasing risk of thermal stress and recent work has shown that water temperature around seagrass meadows could be used as an indicator for seagrass *** thermal data have not been linked to the thermal properties of seagrass *** work assessed the covariation between 20 in situ average daily temperature logger measurement sites in tropical seagrass meadows and satellite derived daytime ssT(sea surface temperature)from the daytime MODIs and Landsat sensors along the Great Barrier Reef coast in *** significant(R2=0.787–0.939)positive covariations were found between in situ seagrass logger temperatures and MODIs ssT temperature and Landsat sensor temperatures at all sites along the *** MODIs ssT were consistently higher than in situ temperature at the majority of the sites,possibly due to the sensor’s larger pixel size and location offset from field *** thermal data were lower than field-measured ssT,due to differences in measurement scales and *** refined significantly and tested over larger areas,this approach could be used to monitor seagrass health over large(106 km2)areas in a similar manner to using satellite ssT for predicting thermal stress for corals.

The south Wales Coalfield has been affected by more than 200 years of industrialdevelopment based on coal mine. Today, surface coal mine affects a 100-km belt in theHeads of the Valley region. Large areas of land are classified as 'reclaimed' land after coal mining. However, there is increasing concem about both the quality and the sustainability of this reclaimed land. Large tracts of 'reclaimed' land are suffering severe degradation runoff, erosion gullies, waterlogging through most of the year, drought during the short summer period of soil moisture deficit, and the consequent loss of vegetation cover.

Geological and tectonic analysis of the Eastern Himalayan basins has given rise to a decade-long debate on the geodynamic evolution of the Burmese terrane and on the extent of reorganization of the main sE Asia drainage ***,the influence of the Himalayan belt on the Central Myanmar Basin(CMB)system remains poorly documented,although it is key to providing more accurate models for the evolution of the Himalayan-Burmese *** this contribution,we present geochronological,isotopic and geochemical analysis from 2500 zircon,1700 titanite,700 rutile and 850 apatite detrital grains from fifteen Cenozoic siliciclastic samples and one Cretaceous igneous *** samples were collected within the fore-and back-arc basins of the Central Myanmar Basin domain(CMB)to constrain the provenance,maximum depositional ages,and depositional environments of the west Burma *** key lithological units,the sadwingyi,Ketpanda,Wabo Chaung,Gwegon,Minwun,Padaung,Okmintaung and Irrawaddy formations have detrital age spectra spanning from the Miocene to *** entire data set has common age peaks at ca.20,40,60,90,100 Ma,with about 80%of the U–Pb ages younger than ca.140 Ma and only ca.1%of the grains predating ca.3.0 *** results shed light on the current ambiguities on the transport pathways of Himalayan detritus in the *** show that the fore-arc basin was open to the trench and fed by the unroofing of both the Wuntho Popa volcanic arc to the east and possibly from the Burmese basement and/or from Himalayan-derived Bengal fan detritus to the west during the Eocene,from at least ca.44 Ma to before ca.39 *** show that the west Burma Terrane was partitioned into pull-apart basins such as the Minwun Basin,which during the Oligocene recorded the first evidence of a new source contribution into the CMB at ca.27 *** new source is characterized by detritus highly compatible with the sE Asia basement rocks,which we suggest corresponds to the initiation of t

In this work,we present a fully atomistic approach to modeling a finishing process with the goal to shed light on aspects of work piece development on the microscopic scale,which are difficult or even impossible to observe in experiments,but highly relevant for the resulting material *** a large-scale simulative parametric study,we varied four of the most relevant grinding parameters:The work piece material,the abrasive shape,the temperature,and the infeed *** order to validate our model,we compared the normalized surface roughness,the power spectral densities,the steady-state contact stresses,and the microstructure with proportionally scaled macroscopic experimental *** the grain sizes vary by a factor of more than 1,000 between experiment and simulation,the characteristic process parameters were reasonably reproduced,to some extent even allowing predictions of surface quality degradation due to tool *** the experimentally validated model,we studied time-resolved stress profiles within the ferrite/steel work piece as well as maps of the microstructural changes occurring in the near-surface *** found that blunt abrasives combined with elevated temperatures have the greatest and most complex impact on near-surface microstructure and stresses,as multiple processes are in mutual competition here.

This work presented the feasibility of cerium recovery by Al-Mg alloy through the metallothermic reduction of CeO2 to obtain a master alloy Al-4%Ce. The master alloy obtained in this investigation was for the grain refinement and modification of Al-si alloys. The reagent was incorporated into a molten alloy using the submerged powder injection technique, and metallic samples were obtained during injection. Chemical and microstructural analyses （by inductively coupled plasma （ICP） and scanning electron microscopy （sEM）, respectively） confirmed the possibility of Ce uptake in the bath （0 to 4 wt.%）, as CeO2 was reduced through metallothermic reactions in the molten alloys. Based on the characterization of reaction products, the sequence of the reaction was proposed.

对(Mg,Ni)_2GeO_4尖晶石-橄榄石集合体进行了高温高压扭转大变形实验研究。试验在一台高分辨率的气体介质试验机上进行,试验温度为1473K,围压为300MPa,应变率为10^(-4)～10^(-5)s^(-1),剪切应力为80～250MPa,剪切应变为30％～700％。将变形后试件沿轴向切开进行了显微结构分析,确定了两相成分的比值。利用EBsD方法分别对变形前后试件中的橄榄石和尖晶石中的晶格最优取向(LPO)进行了测定,由微结构的差异确定了变形机制及两相材料的相对强度。

Kikuchi-fujimoto Disease: A Case of Lymphadenitis following COVID-19 Infection

Introduction: Kikuchi-fujimoto disease (KfD), also known as histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis, is a rare disease of uncertain origin proposed to be secondary to viral or autoimmune causes. It presents as unilateral cervical lymphadenopathy and fever, typically resolving within a few months, however, it mimics malignant lymphoma, leading to extensive work-up fearing malignancy. Case History: A 33-year-old female with a history of sjögren’s syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis (not on immunosuppressive therapy) and recent COVID-19 infection two months ago presented with episodes of flu-like symptoms;fever (101˚f), chills, and myalgias for two months. Upon evaluation, she had leukopenia (WBC 1.8 k/uL), neutropenia (1.0 k/uL), elevated CRP (134 mg/L), and CT neck demonstrated multiple enlarged cervical lymph nodes with necrosis. The patient was started on Cefdinir and doxycycline for a possible atypical infection given neutropenic fevers and the patient continued to have fevers. A biopsy showed focal necrosis with no evidence of malignancy, suggesting KfD that was likely triggered by a recent COVID infection. she was treated with Prednisone and naproxen, which led to an improvement in symptoms and recovery of her pancytopenia. Discussion: This case is unique since the patient’s recent infection with COVID-19 may have triggered the clinical manifestations of KfD. There have been a few case reports of children who were diagnosed with KfD after a COVID-19 infection and adults diagnosed with KfD following COVID vaccinations;however, this is the first case report involving a young adult in her thirties who was diagnosed with KfD two months after COVID-19.

The melting temperature and critical transition temperature Tc of YBa2Cu3O7-δ with deferent content additives of PbO and BaPbO3 were studied. When PbO was doped in YBa2Cu3O7-δ, the melting temperature of YBa2Cu3O7-δ was reduced, however its superconductivity was weakened. from the XRD pattern of the sintered mixture of YBa2Cu3O7-δ and PbO, it was known that there was a reaction between YBa2Cu3O7-δ and PbO, and the product was BaPbO3. Hence different contents of BaPbO3 (10mass%, 20mass% and 30mass%) were added in YBa2Cu3O7-δ. It was proved that there were no reactions between YBa2Cu3O7-δ and BaPbO3. And the superconductivity of the mixtures was much better than that of the samples with PbO additive.

The influence of chloride or sulphur dioxide on the corrosion behavior of copper tube in the air-conditioning system was studied using scanning electron microscope (sEM), energy dispersion spectrometer (EDs) and cyclic polarization techniques. The results showed that the corrosion of copper tube are mainly caused by the sO42- and Cl- ions in the circulating water, and the former is mainly responsible for the general corrosion of the copper tube whilst the latter for the pitting corrosion. The different influences of sG42- and Cl- ions on the corrosion type of copper tube may be attributed to that the radius of sO42- ion is much larger than that of Cl- ion. Meanwhile the results also indicated that sO42- inhibits the pitting corrosion caused by Cl- and Cl- inhibits the general corrosion initiated by sO42- due to their competitive adsorption on the copper matrix.
