Phosphogypsum (PG) is a by-product of the chemical reaction called the "wet process" whereby sul-phuric acid reacts with phosphate rock (PR) to produce phosphoric acid, needed for fertilizer production. Through the wet process, some impurities naturally present in the PR become incorporated in PG, including U decay-series radionuclides, are the main important concern which could have an effect on the surrounding environment and pre-vent its safe utilization. In order to determine the distribution and bioavailability of radionuclides to the surrounding environment, we used a sequential leaching of PG samples from Aqaba and Eshidiya fertilizer industry. The results showed that the percentages of 226Ra and 210Pb in PG are over those in the corresponding phosphate rocks (PG/PR), where 85% of the 226Ra and 85% of the 210Pb fractionate to PG. The sequential extraction results exhibited that most of 226Ra and 210Pb are bound in the residual phase (non-CaSO4) fraction ranging from 45%-65% and 55%-75%, respectively, whereas only 10%-15% and 10%-20% respectively of these radionuclides are distributed in the most labile fraction. The results obtained from this study showed that radionuclides are not incorporated with gypsum itself and may not form a threat to the surrounding environment.

We apply a zircon redox index to a global compilation of detrital zircons to track the variation of oxidation state, expressed as ΔfMQ, through Earth’s history. Those from I-type rocks, which comprise mantle and crustal igneous protoliths, including tonalite–trondhjemite–granodiorites(TTGs), generally have a high oxidation state(ΔfMQ > 0). In contrast, zircons from igneous rocks derived from supracrustal source rocks(S-type) are commonly reduced(ΔfMQ function derived from the Gaussian-Kernel-Density-Estimation, we use the maximum likelihood estimation(MLE) to distinguish Stype from I-type zircons through Earth’s history using zircon redox. Voluminous S-type magma production shows a ca. 600 Ma cyclicity that is closely related to the supercontinent cycle. We link a cyclic drop in redox values after 2.6 Ga to periodic S-type magma generation associated with burial and melting of metasedimentary rocks during supercontinent assembly and amalgamation. The ΔfMQ of the detrital zircons rise at ～3.5 Ga followed by a consistent average ΔfMQ > 0 over the last 3 Ga. Given that the redox state of magmas is independent of crustal thickness and silica variation, and elevated values are likely more closely related to tectonic setting, we suggest that the consistent average ΔfMQ > 0 from ca.3.5 Ga onwards relates to recycling of oceanic lithosphere back into the mantle in what eventually became established as subduction zones. The more reduced magmas associated with sedimentary sources, became established at 2.6 Ga, presumably in response to continental rocks rising above sealevel, and follow peaks of productivity associated with the supercontinent cycle.

Molecular oxygen abundance is a key parameter in understanding the chemical network of the interstellar *** estimate the molecular oxygen column density and abundance for a sample of Galactic massive star formation regions based on observations from the Submillimiter Wave Astronomy Satellite （SWAS） *** obtained an averaged O2spectrum based on this sample using the （SWAS） survey data （O2,487.249 GHz,N=3–1,j=3–2）.No emission or absorption feature is seen around the supposed central velocity with a total integration time of ttotal=8.67×10～3hr and an rms noise per channel of 1.45 m *** a kinetic temperature Tkin=30 K,we derive the 3σupper limit of the O2column density to be 3.3×1015cm-2,close to the lowest values reported in Galactic massive star formation regions in previous *** corresponding O2abundance upper limit is6.7×10-8,lower than all previous results based on SWAS observations and is close to the lowest reported value in massive star formation *** a galactic scale,our statistical results confirm a generally low O2abundance for Galactic massive star formation *** abundance is also lower than results reported in extragalactic sources.

Polarized electron beam production via laser wakefield acceleration in pre-polarized plasma is investigated by particlein-cell simulations. The evolution of the electron beam polarization is studied based on the Thomas±Bargmann±Michel±Telegdi equation for the transverse and longitudinal self-injection, and the depolarization process is found to be influenced by the injection schemes. In the case of transverse self-injection, as found typically in the bubble regime, the spin precession of the accelerated electrons is mainly influenced by the wakefield. However, in the case of longitudinal injection in the quasi-1D regime (for example, f. Y. Li et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 110, 135002 (2013)), the direction of electron spin oscillates in the laser field. Since the electrons move around the laser axis, the net influence of the laser field is nearly zero and the contribution of the wakefield can be ignored. finally, an ultra-short electron beam with polarization of 99%can be obtained using longitudinal self-injection.

Objective： Patients undergoing total gastrectomy for cancer are at risk of malnourishment. The aim of this self- controlled study was to examine the effect of jejunostomy tube feeding （j.f. and other factors on postoperative weight and the incidence of jejunostomy-related complications in patients undergoing total gastrectomy for cancer. Methods： All consecutive patients who underwent total gastrectomy for gastric cancer with jejunostomy plaeement were included from a prospective single-center database （2003-2014）. jejunostomy-related complications and postoperative weight changes were evaluated up to 12 months after surgery. Multivariable linear regression analysis was performed to identify factors associated with weight loss 12 months after gastreetomy. Results： Of 113 patients operated in the study period, 65 received j.f.after total gastrectomy for a median duration of 18 d [interquartile range （IQR）, 10-55 d]. jejunostomy-related complieations occurred in 11 （17%） patients, including skin leakage （n=3） and peritoneal leakage （n=2）, luxation （n=3）, occlusion （n=2）, infection （n=l） and torsion （n=l）. In 2 （3%） patients, a reoperation was needed due to jejtmostomy-related complications. The mean preoperative weight of patients was 71.8 kg （100%）, and remained stable during j.f.（73.9 kg, 103%, P=0.331）. After j.f.was stopped, the mean weight of patients decreased to 64.9 kg （90%） at 12 months after surgery （P〈0.001）. A high preoperative body mass index （BMI）（〉_25 kg/m2） was associated with high postoperative weight loss compared to patients with a low BMI （〈25 kg/m2）（16.3% vs. 8.6%, P=0.016）. Conclusions： j.f.can prevent weight loss in the early postoperative phase. However, this is at the prize of possible complications. As weight loss in the long term is not prevented, routine j.f.should be re-evaluated and balanced against the selected use in preoperatively malnourished patients.
