Supercontinuum white laser with large bandwidth and high pulse energy would offer incredible versatility and opportunities for basic science and high technology applications. here, we report the generation of high-efficiency 2.8-octave-spanning ultraviolet- visible-infrared (UV-Vis-IR) (with 350-2500 nm 25 db bandwidth) supercontinuum white laser from a single chirped periodically poled lithium niobate (CPPLN) nonlinear crystal via synergic high-harmonic generation (HHG) and self-phase modulation (SPM). The CPPLN exhibits multiple controllable reciprocal-lattice bands to simultaneously support the quasi-phase matching (QPM) for simultaneous broadband 2nd-10th HHG via cascaded three-wave mixing against a broadband fundamental pump laser. Due to the efficient second-order nonlinearity (2nd-NL) up-conversion and significant 3rd-NL SPM effect both in the pump and HHG laser pulses, 350-2500 nm supercontinuum white laser is eventually obtained with 17 μj per pulse under pump of 45 μj per pulse mid-infrared femtosecond laser corresponding to an average high conversion efficiency of 37%. Our work opens up a route towards creating UV-Vis-IR all-spectrum white lasers through engineering the synergic action of HHG and SPM effects in nonlinear crystals for applications in ultrafast spectroscopy, single-shot remote sensing, biological imaging, and so on.

EMS considerably increased the hardness of Cu-5%Nb alloy ingot.

The present work reveals the study of mechanical properties of Al2024-Tungsten carbide MMCs containing tungsten carbide (WC) particulates. The reinforcing particulates in the Al2024 alloy were varied from 0% to 5% by weight. The vortex method of cast production was employed to fabricate the MMCs, in which the reinforcement was poured into the vortex created by stirring the molten metal by means of a mechanical agitator. The composite so produced was subjected to a series of mechanical tests. The results of this study revealed that as the tungsten carbide particle content was increased, there were significant increases in the ultimate tensile strength, hardness and young’s modulus, compressive strength, accompanied by a reduction in its ductility. An attempt is made in the paper to provide explanations for these phenomena.

Objective:In this post-hoc analysis,we evaluated anlotinib treatment-induced hypertension as a potential predictive factor of efficacy in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)***:A total of 109 patients enrolled in the anlotinib group in a phase 2 trial were *** tumor response was assessed by computed tomography at week 3,week 6,and then every 6 weeks until progressive disease was *** primary endpoint of the study was progression free survival(PFS).The secondary endpoints included overall survival(OS)and objective response rate(ORR).Results:In all patients,the median PFS was 3.02 months[95%confidence interval(CI):2.63–3.65 months]and the OS was 6.11 months(95%CI:4.40–7.79 months).The ORR was 7.34%(95%CI:3.22%–13.95%).A total of 59(54%)patients were diagnosed with treatment-induced hypertension(Group A),and the remaining patients(n=50,46%)were in Group *** prognostic factors were similar between the 2 *** in Group A had a longer PFS and OS and higher *** stratifying patients using a previously known history of hypertension,treatment-induced hypertension was a predictor only for patients without previous hypertension,who had longer PFS[hazard ratio(HR):0.40,95%CI:0.24–0.68]and OS(HR:0.37,95%CI:0.21–0.67).Conclusions:We showed,for the first time,a correlation between treatment-induced hypertension and better prognoses in recurrent or metastatic ESCC patients treated with anlotinib,without a previously known history of ***-induced hypertension may be a simple and low cost predictor for anlotinib antitumor efficacy in these patients,which may also reflect the intended target inhibition.
