It has been found in our past studies that the installation of asymmetric plate at the inlet of inducer is effective for the suppression of cavitation surge *** the present study,the suction performance of 2-bladed helical inducer with an inlet asymmetric plate is experimentally *** is observed that the suction performance in large flow rate conditions is not significantly influenced by the asymmetric plate,whereas the head of inducer with the asymmetric plate increases j.st before the head breakdown in partial flow *** understand the mechanism of this additional head,the flow measurements and the numerical simulations are carried *** is found that the circumferential component of absolute velocity at the exit of inducer slightly increases with the development of cavitation in both cases with and without the inlet asymmetric plate,indicating the increase of the theoretical *** theoretical head increase with the inlet asymmetric plate is also confirmed by the unsteady numerical simulations,suggesting that the additional head is achieved through the increase of the theoretical head with the change of the exiting flow from the inducer associated with some amount of cavitation.

The superplastic behavior and associated deformation mechanisms of a fine-grained Mg-10.1 Li-0.8Al-0.6Zn alloy(LAZ1011)with a grain size of 3.2μm,primarily composed of the BCCβphase and a small amount of the hCPαphase,were examined in a temperature range of 473 K to 623 *** microstructural refinement of this alloy was achieved by employing high-ratio differential speed *** best superplasticity was achieved at 523 K and at strain rates of 10^(-4)-5×10^(-4)s^(-1),where tensile elongations of 550±600%were *** the heating and holding stage of the tensile samples prior to tensile loading,a significant increase in grain size was observed at temperatures above 573 ***,it was important to consider this effect when analyzing and understanding the superplastic deformation behavior and *** the investigated strain rate range,the superplastic flow at low strain rates was governed by lattice diffusion-controlled grain boundary sliding,while at high strain rates,lattice diffusion-controlled dislocation climb creep was the rate-controlling deformation *** was concluded that solute drag creep is unlikely to *** the late stages of deformation at 523 K,it was observed that grain boundary sliding led to the agglomeration of theαphase,resulting in significant strain *** mechanism maps were constructed forβ-Mg-Li alloys in the form of 2D and 3D formats as a function of strain rate,stress,temperature,and grain size,using the constitutive equations for various deformation mechanisms derived based on the data of the current tests.

Effects and mechanisms of acupuncture on biliary system motility

Since the introduction of acupuncture in the West,the primary focus of interest has been on its analgesic effects. In the 19 90 s,several research groups began to investigate the effects of acupuncture on biliary system m otility. here,we have reviewed all the recently published articles about the effects of acupuncture and acupuncture-like stimulation on sphincter of Oddi( SO) and gallbladder m *** used for these studies were auricular liver-gall point,Yanglinguan( GB3 4) ,Qim en( L R14 ) and Riyue( GB2 4) . Acupuncture and acupuncture-like stimulation at LR14 ,GB2 4,which are located in the trunk,showed an increased SO *** contrast,acupuncture at GB3 4in lower lim b and TENS at the hand showed a decreased SO contraction.A lso,auricular liver-gall point stimulation caused a marked contraction of the gallbladder. These results agree with Sato’ s report that gastric motility was inhibited by acupuncture applied to the abdom en and lower chest region,but was often excited when the lim bs were stimulated. The results of two articles show that acupuncture stim ulation decreased SO basal pressure and was accompanied by a significant increase in cholecystokinin ( CCK) and vasoactive intestinal ***,it was proposed that the effect of acupuncture on biliary system motility is that acupuncture first stim ulates the autonom ic or central nervous system,thereby controlling the release of the hormones that influence the SO and gall *** conclusion,acupuncture stim ulation of various acupoints results in inhibition or excitation of biliary system m *** response of SO and gall bladder motility can be mediated by neurohorm onal m echanisms,including CCK release.

Convexification of hybrid AC-DC Optimal Power Flow with Line-Commutated Converters

Line-commutated converter (LCC)-based high-voltage DC (hVDC) systems have been integrated with bulk AC power grids for interregional transmission of renewable power. The nonlinear LCC model brings additional nonconvexity to optimal power flow (OPF) of hybrid AC-DC power grids. A convexification method for the LCC station model could address such nonconvexity but has rarely been discussed. We devise an equivalent reformulation for classical LCC station models that facilitates second-order cone convex relaxation for the OPF of LCC-based AC-DC power grids. We also propose sufficient conditions for exactness of convex relaxation with its proof. Equivalence of the proposed LCC station models and properties, exactness, and effectiveness of convex relaxation are verified using four numerical simulations. Simulation results demonstrate a globally optimal solution of the original OPF can be efficiently obtained from relaxed model.

Mg-based amorphous alloys are one of the potential hydrogen storage materials but suffer from sluggish dehydrogenation/hydrogenation(de/hydrogenation)*** this work,as a new strategy,a hydrogen pump is built on the surface of amorphous alloys to solve this *** milling crystalline YFe_(2-x)Al_(x) hydrogen storage alloy with Mg_(60)La_(10)Ni_(20)Cu_(10) amorphous alloy,fine crystalline particles were seeded on amorphous alloy powder to form a“strawberry”*** to the TEM observation,a metallurgical bonding boundary formed between the Mg-based amorphous matrix and the Y-Fe-Al crystalline *** microstructure and de/hydrogenation kinetics investigation,the“hydrogen pump”effect of the seeded crystalline alloy was confirmed,which makes it much easier for the hydrogen to dissociate on and diffuse through the surface of the Mg-based amorphous *** such effect,the h absorption rate of Mg_(60)La_(10)Ni_(20)Cu_(10) amorphous alloy became almost eight times faster and it absorbs ~2.8 wt.% in 1 h at 130℃ under 4.5 MPa-h_(2).Further,fast hydrogenation can even achieve at 70℃ and the low-temperature dehydrogenation kinetics of the amorphous hydride can be also greatly *** present work proves that surface modification is of great importance for obtaining Mg-based amorphous alloy with ideal hydrogen storage performance.
