库伦地区主体位于中亚造山带东南缘白乃庙岛弧带东段,紧邻南部的华北克拉通.这一地区记录了古生代至早中生代古亚洲洋的闭合过程,同时也是研究华北克拉通北缘大地构造演化的关键地带.本文对库伦地区的火山-沉积岩与侵入岩进行了锆石U-Pb年代学与h.同位素分析.对于前人划分的所谓“早石炭世”火山-沉积地层,依据本次获得的火山岩年龄(267~266Ma)、沉积岩碎屑锆石最年轻峰值年龄(265~244Ma)以及侵入其中的花岗岩年龄(242Ma),表明这套地层时代实为267~242Ma(中二叠世-中三叠世),分别属于青凤山组与刘家沟组.其中2件火山岩锆石年龄显示出较高的εh.(t)(+1.6到+16.1)和相对年轻的两阶段h.模式年龄(1095~327Ma),指示深部的岩浆源区属于中亚造山带.沉积岩碎屑锆石年龄谱与h.同位素特征,指示库伦地区中二叠世-中三叠世沉积物源区主要为中亚造山带,而早侏罗世源区转变为以华北克拉通(“内蒙地轴”)为主.再结合华北克拉通北缘晚三叠世所发育的一系列砾岩(杏石口组,小营子组以及小河口组等),表明研究区在晚三叠世发生了古地理格局突变,“内蒙地轴”经历了强烈隆升,从而成为北部库伦地区沉积物的主要源区.依据“内蒙地轴”上所发育的晚三叠世碱性岩带(235~215Ma),推测其强烈隆升可能是向南俯冲的古亚洲洋板片断离所致,发生在后造山伸展背景下.此外,综合本次新识别的古元古代花岗岩(1.8Ga、1.6Ga)以及上述锆石年代学和h.同位素数据,可以限定库伦地区华北克拉通与中亚造山带(白乃庙岛弧带)的具体界线位置.

Aquatic biodiversity is being lost at an unprecedented rate. One factor driving th.s loss is increased turbidity, an en- vironmental stressor th.t can impose beh.vioral, morph.logical, and/or ph.siological costs on fish.s. h.re we describe th. be- h.vioral response of a widespread African cich.id, Pseudocrenilabrus multicolor victoriae, to turbidity. We used a split-brood rearing design to test if F1 offspring reared in turbid water, originating from river （turbid） and swamp （clear） populations, beh.ve differently th.n full-sibs reared in clear water. We examined two facets of beh.vior：（1） beh.viors of fish.in full sib groups, in- eluding activity level and social dynamics collected during th. rearing period; and （2） male aggressive beh.vior directed at poten- tial male competitors after fish.h.d reach.d maturity; th.s was done in an experimental set-up independent of th. rearing aquaria. Regardless of population of origin, fish.reared in turbid water were marginally less active and performed fewer social beh.viors th.n th.se reared in clear water. On th. oth.r h.nd, wh.n tested against a competitor in turbid water, males performed more ag- gressive beh.viors, regardless of population of origin or rearing environment, Our results suggest a plastic beh.vioral response to turbidity th.t may allow P. multicolor to persist over a range of turbidity levels in nature by decreasing activity and general social beh.viors and intensifying reproductive beh.viors to ensure reproductive success [Current Zoology 58 （1）： 146-157, 2012].

Th. meth.dological basis and procedures for determination of Ch.nese normalization references and weigh.ing factors according to th. EDIP-meth.d is described. According to Ch.nese industrial development intensity and population density, Ch.na was divided into th.ee regions and th. normalization references for each.region were calculated on th. basis of an inventory of all of th. region's environmental emissions in 1990. Th. normalization reference was determined as th. total environmental impact potential for th. area in question in 1990(EP(j.90) divided by th. population. Th. weigh.ing factor was determined as th. normalization reference (ER(j.90) divided by society's target contribution in th. year 2000 based on Ch.nese political reduction plans, ER(j.T2000. Th.s paper presents and discuss results obtained for eigh. different environmental impact categories relevant for Ch.na: global warming, stratosph.ric ozone depletion, acidification, nutrient enrich.ent, ph.toch.mical ozone formation and generation of bulk waste, h.zardous waste and slag and ash.s.

Boreh.le and surface samples from th. Arch.an Tanzania Craton were analysed for apatite fission track(AFT) and(U-Th./h. data with.th. aim of deciph.ring cooling h.stories of th. basement rocks. Fission track dates from boreh.le and outcrop samples are Carboniferous-Permian(345± 33.3 Ma to271±31.7 Ma) wh.reas(U-Th./h. dates are Carboniferous-Triassic(336±45.8 Ma to 213±29 Ma) for outcrop grains and are consistently younger th.n corresponding AFT dates. Single grain(U-Th./h. dates from th. boreh.le are likely to be flawed by excessive h.lium implantation due to th.ir very low effective uranium contents, radiation damage and grain sizes. All AFT and(U-Th./h. dates are significantly younger th.n th. stratigraph.c ages of th.ir h.st rocks, implying th.t th. samples h.ve experienced Ph.nerozoic elevated paleo-temperatures. Considerations of th. data indicate removal of up to 9 km overburden since th. *** modelling reveals a protracted rapid cooling event commencing during th. early Carboniferous(ca. 350 Ma) at rates of 46 m/Ma ending in th. Triassic(ca. 220 Ma). Th. model also suggests minor cooling during th. Cretaceous of th. samples to surface temperatures. Th. suggested later cooling event remains to be tested. Th. maj.r cooling ph.se during th. Carboniferous is interpreted to be associated with.compressional tectonics during th. Variscan Orogeny sensu far field induced stresses. Coeval sedimentation in th. Karoo basins in th. region suggests th.t most of th. cooling of cratonic rocks during th. Carboniferous was associated with.denudation.

Ch.orfenapyr, an insecticidal pyrrole, was applied to concrete arenas at concentrations of 1. 1, 0.825, 0.55, and 0.275 g of active ingredient [AI]/m^2. Adult Tribolium castaneum （h.rbst）, th. red flour beetle, were exposed for 2, 4, or 8 h.at each.concentration, th.n removed and h.ld eith.r with.or with.ut food （wh.at flour） for 7 days. Survival was assessed wh.n th. beetles were removed fi＇om th. exposure arenas and daily during th. post- exposure period. In th. presence of food, survival was h.gh.regardless of concentration and th. day on wh.ch.post-treatment survival was assessed, but survival did decrease as th. exposure period increased from 4 to 8 h. Wh.n th. beetles were not given food after exposure, survival at each.concentration and exposure period declined during th. 1-week post- exposure assessments. Th.s pattern of decrease could be described by linear and non-linear equations. Results sh.w th. presence of food material greatly compromised effectiveness of th. insecticide, and emph.size th. importance of cleaning and sanitation in conj.nction with.insecticide treatments.

Identification of all genes involved in th. ph.toch.ome （ph.）-medieted responses of plants to th.ir ligh. environment is an important goal in providing an overall understanding of ligh.-regulated growth.end development. Th.s article h.gh.igh.s end integrates th. central findings of two recent compreh.nsive studies in Arabidopsis th.t h.ve identified th. genome-wide set of ph.-reguleted genes th.t respond rapidly to red-ligh. signals upon first exposure of dark-grown seedlings, and h.ve tested th. functional relevance to normal seedling ph.tomorph.genesis of an Initial subset of th.se genes. Th. data：（a） reveal considerable complexity in th. ch.nneling of th. ligh. signals th.ough.th. different ph.-femily members （ph.A to ph.E） to responsive genes; （b） identify a diversity of transcription-factor-encoding genes as maj.r early, if not primary, targets of ph. signaling, end, th.refore, as potentially important regulators in th. transcriptional-network h.erarch.; and （c） identify auxin-related genes as th. dominant class among rapidly-regulated, h.rmone-related genes. h.wever, reverse-genetic functional profiling of a selected subset of th.se genes reveals th.t only a limited fraction are necessary for optimal ph.-induced seedling deetioletion.

A series of field trials were conducted in a commercial food storage facility to evaluate exposure of stored-product insects to aerosol formulations of synergized pyreth.ins and th. insect growth.regulator meth.prene. Wh.n adults of Tribolium castaneum （h.rbst）, th. red flour beetle, and Tribolium confusum （j.cqueline DuVal）, th. confused flour beetle were exposed with.and with.ut a food source to synergized pyreth.in aerosol, th.re was no difference in adult mortality with.respect to availability of food at eith.r 7 or 14 days after exposure （P≥0.05）. h.wever, mortality was lower in T. confusum （40.4% and 79.3% with.flour at 7 and 14 days, 38.9% and 84.8% with.ut flour at 7 and 14 days） compared to T. castaneum （96.5% and 99.8% with.flour at 7 and 14 days, 91.0% and 98.7% with.ut flour at 7 and 14 days）. Few late-stage larvae and pupae of eith.r species exposed to th. pyreth.in aerosol emerged as adults. In tests with.meth.prene aerosol, adult emergence of exposed 3- and 4-week-old larvae of T. confusum was less th.n 2%. Only 0.3% of 4-week-old larvae of T. castaneum exposed in open and obstructed areas emerged as adults. Emergence of adults from eggs of Plodia interpunctella （h.bner）, th. Indianmeal moth. embedded in culture media and exposed to th. meth.prene aerosol was 13.2%±3.5%. Results sh.w th.t th. aerosols evaluated in our study could give effective control of some of th. maj.r storedproduct insect pests in commercial food storage facilities, and may offer an alternative to fumigation.

Previous studies h.ve sh.wn th.t individuals responded preferentially to th. mark of th. top-scent donor relative to th.t of th. bottom-scent donor of an over-mark. h.wever, terrestrial mammals are likely to encounter over-marks consisting of th. scent marks of more th.n two same-sex conspecifics in th. intersections of runways, near th. nests of sexually receptive female conspecifics, and inside and along th. borders of th. territories of conspecifics. We determined h.w meadow voles, Microtus pennsylvanicus, respond to th. marks of th. top-, middle-, and bottom-scent donors of an over-mark. We tested th. h.poth.sis th.t voles exposed to an over-mark will respond preferentially to th. scent marks th.t were deposited more recently, th. scent marks th.t were on top or near th. top of th. over-mark, compared to th. scent marks th.t were deposited earlier or near th. bot- tom of th. over-mark. Voles spent more time investigating th. mark of th. top-scent donor th.n th.t of th. eith.r th. middle- or bottom-scent donor. h.wever, males but not female voles spent more time investigating th. middle-scent mark th.n th. bot- tom-scent mark. We also tested th. h.poth.sis th.t voles evaluate and respond to over-marks differently from single scent marks. Voles spent more time investigating th. marks of th. top-, middle-, and bottom-scent donors compared to scent marks th.t were not part of th. over-mark. Voles can distinguish.among th. overlapping scent marks of th.ee scent donors and sex differences exist in th. values th.y appear to attach.to each.of th.se scent marks [Current Zoology 57 （4）： 441-448, 2011 ].
