Quantitative impacts of meteorology and emissions on the long-term trend of O3 in the Yangtze River Delta(YRD),China from 2015 to 2022

extensive spatiotemporal analyses of long-trend surface ozone in the Yangtze River Delta(YRD)region and itsmeteorology-related and emission-related have not been systematically *** this study,by using 8-year-long(2015–2022)surface ozone observation data,we attempted to reveal the variation ofmultiple timescale components using the Kolmogorov–Zurbenko filter,and the effects of meteorology and emissions were quantitatively isolated using multiple linear regression with meteorological *** results showed that the short-term,seasonal,and long-term components accounted for daily maximum 8-hr average O_(3)(O_(3–8)hr)concentration,46.4%,45.9%,and 1.0%,*** meteorological impacts account for an average of 71.8%of O_(3–8)hr,and the YRD’s eastern and northern sections aremeteorology-sensitive *** on statistical analysis technology with empirical orthogonal function,the contribution of meteorology,local emission,and transport in the long-term component of O_(3–8)hr were 0.21%,0.12%,and 0.6%,*** spatiotemporal analysis indicated that a distinct decreasing spatial pattern could be observed from coastal cities towards the northwest,influenced by the monsoon and synoptic *** central urban agglomeration north and south of the YRD was particularly susceptible to local *** the cities studied,Shanghai,Anqing,and Xuancheng,located at similar latitudes,were significantly impacted by atmospheric transmission—the contribution of Shanghai,the maximum accounting for 3.6%.

The toxicity of PM_(2.5)does not necessarily change synchronously with its mass *** this study,the chemical composition(carbonaceous species,water-soluble ions,and metals)and oxidative potential(dithiothreitol assay,DTT)of PM_(2.5)were investigated in 2017/2018 and 2022 in Xiamen,*** decrease rate of volume-normalized DTT(DTTv)(38%)was lower than that of PM_(2.5)(55%)between the two sampling ***,the mass-normalized DTT(DTTm)increased by 44%.Clear seasonal patterns with higher levels in winter were found for PM_(2.5),most chemical constituents and DTTv but not for *** large decrease in DTT activity(84%−92%)after the addition of eDTA suggested that watersoluble metals were the main contributors to DTT in *** increased gap between the reconstructed and measured DTTv and the stronger correlations between the reconstructed/measured DTT ratio and carbonaceous species in 2022were *** decrease rates of the hazard index(32.5%)and lifetime cancer risk(9.1%)differed from those of PM_(2.5)and DTTv due to their different main *** PMF-MLR model showed that the contributions(nmol/(min·m^(3)))of vehicle emission,coal+biomass burning,ship emission and secondary aerosol to DTTv in 2022 decreased by 63.0%,65.2%,66.5%,and 22.2%,respectively,compared to those in 2017/2018,which was consistent with the emission reduction of vehicle exhaust and coal consumption,the adoption of low-sulfur fuel oil used on board ships and the reduced production of ***,the contributions of dust+sea salt and industrial emission increased.

Hydrodynamical cosmological simulations of galaxy formation such as Illustris TNG or Auriga have shown considerable success in approximately matching many galaxy properties,but their treatment of the star-forming interstellar medium (ISM) has relied on heuristic sub-grid ***,recent high-resolution simulations of the ISM that directly resolve the regulation of star formation suggest different mean relations for the dependences of pressure and star formation rate on the average gas *** this study,we adopt such a modern,physically grounded parameterization inspired by the TIGReSS small-scale *** dub this model TeQS and use it for a detailed comparative analysis of the formation and evolution of a Milky Way-sized galaxy when compared with the widely used TNG *** employing high-resolution simulations in tall box setups,we first investigate the structural differences expected for these two models when applied to different self-gravitating gas surface *** results indicate that TeQS produces considerably thinner gaseous layers and can be expected to form stellar distributions with smaller scale-height than TNG,especially at higher surface *** test whether this induces systematic structural differences in cosmological galaxy formation simulations,we carry out zoom-in simulations of 12 galaxies taken from the set of Milky Way-sized galaxies that have been studied in the Auriga *** results for these galaxies shows that disk galaxies formed with the TeQS model have on average very similar stellar mass but are more concentrated in their central regions and exhibit smaller stellar radii compared to those formed with the TNG *** differences in the scale-heights of the formed stellar disks are only marginal,however,suggesting that other factors for setting the thickness of the disk are more important than the applied ISM equation-of-state ***,the predicted galaxy structure is quite similar for TNG and

Two strains of Fe/Mn oxidizing bacteria tolerant to high concentrations of multiple heavy metal(loid)s and efficient decontamination for them were *** surface of the bio-Fe/Mn oxides produced by the oxidation of Fe(II)and Mn(II)by Pseudomonas taiwanensis(marked as P4)and Pseudomonas plecoglossicida(marked as G1)contains rich reactive oxygen functional groups,which play critical roles in the removal efficiency and immobilization of heavymetal(loid)s in co-contamination *** isolated strains P4 and G1 can growwell in the following environments:pH 5-9,NaCl 0-4%,and temperature 20-30℃.The removal efficiencies of Fe,Pb,As,Zn,Cd,Cu,and Mn are effective after inoculation of the strains P4 and G1 in the simulated water system(the initial concentrations of heavy metal(loid)were 1 mg/L),approximately reaching 96%,92%,85%,67%,70%,54%and 15%,*** exchangeable and carbonate bound As,Cd,Pb and Cu are more inclined to convert to the Fe-Mn oxide bound fractions in P4 and G1 treated soil,thereby reducing the phytoavailability and bioaccessible of heavy metal(loid)*** research provides alternatives method to treat water and soil containing high concentrations of multi-heavy metal(loid)s.

FeA-Sketch: flow entries assisted sketch for heavy flow detection in software-defined networking

Software-defined networking decouples the control plane from the data plane to enable centralized flow-level network management, while requiring periodically collecting traffic statistics from the data plane to enforce optimal management. As one of the most important traffic measurement tasks, heavy flow detection has received wide attention for its providing fundamental statistics in various practical applications. existing studies have proposed sketch-based detection solutions to address the mismatch problem between massive traffic and limited high-speed memory resources for measurement in the data plane. However,they overlook the potential of integrating the flow table, where each entry simultaneously enforces forwarding rules for specific flows and records flow statistics into the sketch design, leading to redundant measurement between the flow table and sketch and being unable to utilize their statistics to j.intly enhance estimation accuracy. We propose flow entries assisted sketch(FeA-Sketch) in this work, which employs a differentiated flow recording strategy to record flow statistics j.intly using the flow table and sketch for memory-efficient and computationally efficient heavy flow detection. We also propose an optimization-based estimation algorithm to accurately recover per-flow sizes for the flows that only have aggregated statistics due to the sharing of entries in the table(or counters in the sketch). We extend the FeA-Sketch to the distributed measurement setting with a hop-based collaborative measurement strategy, which reduces the measurement workload on switches across the network by avoiding redundant measurements. The experimental results on real Internet traces show that the accuracy of heavy flow detection is improved up to 1.95 times, and the bias of flow size estimation is improved up to 2.99 times, demonstrating that integrating flow entries can significantly improve the performance of heavy flow detection.

The continuous combustion of unsustainable carbon-based fossil fuels has dramatically accelerated the increase in carbon dioxide(CO_(2))concentration in the atmosphere(from approximately278.3 ppm in 1750 to 417.9 ppm in 2023),which would exacerbate environmental problems such as greenhouse effect[1].The effective electrosynthesis of high value-added multi-carbon(C_(2+))chemicals(e.g.,ethanol,ethylene)from CO_(2) reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)is a promising strategy to mitigate these environmental issues mentioned above but remains highly challenging due to the competition of hydrogen evolution reaction(HeR)and low selectivity of target products.

The maneuverability and stealth of aerial-aquatic vehicles(AAVs)is of significant importance for future integrated air-sea combat *** improve the maneuverability and stealth of AAVs near the water surface,this paper proposed a high-maneuverability skipping motion strategy for the tandem twin-rotor AAV,inspired by the motion behavior of the flying fish to avoid aquatic and aerial predators near the water *** novel tandem twin-rotor AAV was employed as the research subj.ct and a strategybased ADRC control method for validation,comparing it with a strategy-based PID control *** results indicate that both control methods enable the designed AAV to achieve high stealth and maneuverability near the water surface with robust control *** strategy-based ADRC control method exhibits a certain advantage in controlling height,pitch angle,and reducing impact *** motion strategy will offer an inspiring approach for the practical application of AAVs to some extent.
