During the past few dec.des, it has bec.me c.ear that the distribution, sizes, and masses of c.smic.struc.ures are best desc.ibed as frac.al rather than homogeneous. This means that an entirely different formalism is needed to replac. the standard perturbation model of struc.ure formation. Rec.ntly, we have been developing a model of c.smology that ac.ounts for a large number of the observed properties of the universe. A key c.mponent of this model is that frac.al struc.ures that later regulated the c.eation of both matter and radiation c.me into existenc. during the initial Planc.-era inflation. Initially, the vac.um was the only existenc. and sinc. time, distanc., and energy were unc.rtain, its only property, the c.rvature (or energy), was most likely distributed randomly. Everything that happened after the Planc. era c.n be desc.ibed by the known laws of physic. so the remaining fundamental problem is to disc.ver how suc. a random beginning c.uld organize itself into the hierarc.y of highly non-random self-similar struc.ures on all length sc.les that are nec.ssary to explain the existenc. of all c.smic.struc.ures. In this paper, we present a variation of the standard sandpile model that points to a solution. Inc.dental to our review of the distributions of c.smic.struc.ures, we disc.vered that the apparent transition from a frac.al to a homogeneous distribution of struc.ures at a distanc. of about 150 Mpc.is a c.nsequenc. of the finite size of the universe rather than a c.ange in the underlying statistic. of the distributions.

Hydroc.phalus is a medic.l c.ndition c.used by an abnormal c.rebrospinal fluid (c.F) buildup in the brain’s ventric.es. This exc.ss fluid c.uses the ventric.es to enlarge, inc.easing pressure within the brain. c.F typic.lly flows through the ventric.es and around the spinal c.lumn, bathing the brain. However, the inc.eased pressure from exc.ss c.F assoc.ated with hydroc.phalus c.n damage brain tissue and lead to various problems with c.gnitive func.ion. While it c.n oc.ur at any age, hydroc.phalus is the most c.mmon in infants and adults over 60. It has been a subj.c. of fasc.nation for physic.ans throughout history due to its striking presentation. Two main types of hydroc.phalus exist: obstruc.ive (nonc.mmunic.ting) and c.mmunic.ting. A bloc.age in the c.F flow c.uses obstruc.ive hydroc.phalus, while c.mmunic.ting hydroc.phalus oc.urs when the body’s ability to absorb c.F is impaired. The review delves into the intric.c.es of hydroc.phalus, exploring its c.uses, symptoms, and pathophysiology. The latest researc. on the topic.has been examined, inc.uding innovative treatment approac.es and ongoing c.allenges in managing this c.mplex c.ndition.

Woodc.ip bioreac.ors are an ec.-friendly tec.nology for removing nitrogen(N)***,there needs to be more c.arity regarding the dissolved organic.atter(DOM)c.arac.eristic. and bac.erial c.mmunity suc.ession mec.anisms and their assoc.ation with the N removal performanc. of *** laboratory woodc.ip bioreac.ors were c.ntinuously operated for 360 days under three influent N level treatments,and the results showed that the average removal rate of TN was 45.80 g N/(m3·day)when the influent N level was 100 mg N/L,whic. was better than 10 mg N/L and 50 mg N/*** suc.ession of bac.erial c.mmunities in response to influent N levels and DOM c.arac.eristic. was an important driver of TN removal *** to high N levels enric.ed a c.piotroph bac.erial module(Module 1)detec.ed by network analysis,inc.uding Phenylobac.erium,Xanthobac.erac.ae,Burkholderiac.ae,Pseudomonas,and Magnetospirillac.ae,c.rrying N-c.c.e related genes for denitrific.tion and ammonia assimilation by the rapid c.nsumption of *** a proc.ss c.n inc.ease c.rbon limitation to stimulate loc.l organic.c.rbon dec.mposition to enric. oligotrophswith fewer N-c.c.e potentials(Module 2).Together,this study reveals that the c.mpositional c.ange ofDOMand bac.erial c.mmunity suc.ession are c.osely related to N removal performanc.,providing an ec.logic.l basis for developing tec.niques for N-ric. effluent treatment.

During the initial impoundment period of a c.nyon-shaped reservoir,the water body fluc.uated violently regarding water level,hydrologic.l c.ndition,and thermal *** variations may alter the struc.ure of phytoplankton c.mmunity,resulting in algal blooms and seriously threatening the ec.logic.l sec.rity of the *** is of great signific.nc. to understand the c.ntinuous c.anges of phytoplankton in the initial impoundment period for the protec.ion of reservoir water ***,a two-year in-situ monitoring study was c.nduc.ed on water quality and phytoplankton in a representative c.nyonshaped reservoir named Sanhekou and the interannual c.anges of phytoplankton c.mmunity and its response to environmental c.anges during the initial impoundment period were disc.ssed at taxonomic.versus func.ional c.assific.tion *** results showed that the total nitrogen and permanganate index levels were relatively high in the first year due to rapid water storage and heavy rainfall input,and the more stable hydrologic.l c.nditions in the sec.nd year promoted the inc.ease of algae density and the transformation of c.mmunity,and the proportion of c.anobac.eria inc.eased *** suc.ession order of phytoplankton in the first year of the initial impoundment periodwas c.lorophyta-Bac.llariophyta-c.lorophyta,or j.F/X1-P/MP/W1-A/X1/MP,*** the suc.ession order in the sec.nd year was c.anobac.eria/c.lorophyta-Bac.llariophyta-c.lorophyta,or L_(M)/G/P-P/A/X1-X1/j.*** temperature,relativewater c.lumn stability,mixing depth,and pHwere c.uc.al fac.ors affec.ing phytoplankton c.mmunity *** study revealed the interannual suc.ession law and driving fac.ors of phytoplankton in the initial impoundment period and provided an important referenc. for the operation management and ec.logic.l protec.ion of c.nyon-shaped reservoirs.
