Polio eradication surveillance in Sri Lanka,2019-2023

Obj.c.ive:To evaluate the polio laboratory.surveillance carried out from j.nuary.2019 to May.2023 by.the Polio Regional Reference Laboratory.Sri ***:This retrospec.ive study.analy.ed all stool samples rec.ived under the acute flac.id paraly.is(AFP)and immunodeficient vac.ine-derived poliovirus(VDPV)surveillance at Polio Regional Reference Laboratory.Sri Lanka from j.nuary.2019 to May.*** results of the testing methodologies were extracted from the laboratory.data sy.tem,i.e.,poliovirus virus isolation,intra-ty.ic differentiation/VDPV real time reverse transc.iptase poly.erase chain reac.ion(iTD/VDPV rRTPcR)and sequencing,along with the data on timing of reporting results,stool adequacy.and *** was analy.ed using desc.iptive ***:A total of 2141 stool samples from 1644 cases were rec.ived for AFP surveillance from Sri Lanka(93.61%),Maldives(1.52%),and immunodeficient VDPV(4.86%)*** polioviruses(19/1644,1.15%)and non-polio enteroviruses(73/1644,4.44%)were isolated,while Sabin-like 3 virus was detected in maj.rity.12/19,63.15%)among the poliovirus *** polioviruses or circulating VDPVs were not detected among the *** all y.ars of the study.the non-polio AFP detec.ion rate was>1/100000 in c.ildren aged less than 15 y.ars,whereas stool adequacy.rate was>80%.All results were reported within 14 day. of rec.ipt,ensuring timely.reporting as per global ***:The Polio Regional Reference Laboratory.Sri Lanka play. a vital role in maintaining the polio-free status in the country.through its robust laboratory.surveillance,while adhering to the surveillance ***-detec.ion of wild polioviruses and circulating VDPV during the study.period reinforces the polio-free status in the country.

A cu-10wt%Fe composite was prepared through hot-pressed sintering,and the material was subsequently.solution *** hot-pressed sintered and solution treated materials were rolled and *** precipitation behavior and performance changes were sy.tematically.studied by.using scanning electron microscopy.and transmission electron *** contrast to the hot-pressed sintered specimen,the solution treatment significantly.affects the thermal stability.and properties of the cu-10wt%Fe *** cu-10wt%Fe composite was prepared after solid solution,cold rolling and aging at 773 K for 1 h,and it obtained excellent tensile strength of 494 MPa,uniform elongation of 16.3%,electrical conduc.ivity.of 51.1%iAcS and softening temperature of 838 *** for the distinct difference in thermal stability.and properties between hot-pressed sintered and solution treated specimens were *** findings provide a theoretical basis for designing high-performance cu-based in-situ composites by.post treatment.

Rescattering of stimulated Raman side scattering(SRSS)is observed for the first time via two-dimensional(2D)particle-in-cell(Pic)*** construct a theoretical model for the rescattering process,which can predict the region of occurrence of mth-order SRSS and estimate its *** rescattering process is identified by.the 2D Pic simulations under ty.ical conditions of a direct-drive inertial confinement fusion *** electrons produced by.second-order SRSS propagate nearly.perpendicular to the density.gradient and gain nearly.the same energy.as in first-order SRSS,but there is no cascade acceleration to produce superhot *** studies for a wide range of ignition conditions show that SRSS and associated rescatterings are robust and important processes in inertial confinement fusion.

Demand response has been recognized as a valuable func.ionality.of power sy.tems for mitigating power *** paper proposes a hierarc.ical control strategy.among the distribution sy.tem operator(DSO),load aggregators(LAs),and thermostatically.controlled loads(TcLs);the strategy.includes a scheduling lay.r and an executive lay.r to provide load *** the scheduling lay.r,the DSO(leader)offers compensation price(cP)strategies,and the LAs(followers)respond to cP strategies with available regulation power(ARP)*** of the DSO and LAs are modeled according to their behaviors during the load regulation *** game is adopted to capture interac.ions among the play.rs and leader and to obtain the optimal strategy.for each participant to ac.ieve ***,considering inevitable random factors in prac.ice,e.g.,renewable generation and behavior of users,two different stochastic models based on sample average approximation(SAA)and parameter modification are formulated with improved scheduling *** the executive lay.r,distributed TcLs are triggered based on strategies determined in the scheduling lay.r.A self-triggering method that does not violate user privacy.is presented,where TcLs rec.ive external signals from the LA and independently.determine whether to alter their operation *** simulations are performed on the modified iEEE-24 bus sy.tem to verify.effec.iveness of the proposed strategy.

in this study.the effects of stacked nanosheets and the surrounding interphase zone on the resistance of the contact region between nanosheets and the tunneling conduc.ivity.of samples are evaluated with developed equations superior to those previously.*** contact resistance and nanocomposite conduc.ivity.are modeled by.several influencing factors,including stack properties,interphase depth,tunneling size,and contact *** developed model's accuracy.is verified through numerous experimental *** further validate the models and establish correlations between parameters,the effects of all the variables on contact resistance and nanocomposite conduc.ivity.are ***,the contact resistance is primarily.dependent on the poly.er tunnel resistivity.contact area,and tunneling *** dimensions of the graphene nanosheets significantly.influence the conduc.ivity.which ranges from 0 S/m to90 S/*** increased number of nanosheets in stacks and a larger gap between them enhance the nanocomposite's ***,the thicker interphase and smaller tunneling size can lead to higher sample conduc.ivity.due to their optimistic effects on the percolation threshold and network efficacy.

Plastic pollution, both primary.and secondary. is an environmental challenge, prompting regulatory.ac.ions at global and regional levels. With increasing research about the impacts of micro- and nanoplastics on ecosy.tems and human health, governments worldwide have undertaken efforts to address this issue. The global community.has advanced regulatory.efforts that have led to the implementation of national laws or regulations in numerous countries. These measures ban or restrict the use of primary.and secondary.microplastics and nanoplastics. An overview of global and European regulatory.frameworks is presented to provide context for the United States (US). in the endeavor to document plastics regulation development in the US, a desc.iption of regulatory.agencies and their roles in advancing policy.and rules as well as future direc.ion and areas for improvement in regulating plastics are introduced. A discussion of what emerging regulations mean to utilities and industries is also provided along with a comparison of regulatory.frameworks.

Hi in High Gas-phase Metallicity.Dwarf Galaxy.WiSEA j.30615.06+143927.9

We present resolved Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope H i observations of the high gas-phase metallicity.dwarf galaxy.WiSEA j.30615.06+143927.9(z = 0.005)(hereafter j.306) and investigate whether it could be a Tidal Dwarf Galaxy.TDG) candidate. TDGs are observed to have higher metallicities than normal dwarfs. j.306 has an unusual combination of a blue g-r color of 0.23 mag, irregular optical morphology.and high-metallicity.12 +log(O/H) = 8.68 ± 0.14), making it an interesting galaxy.to study.in more detail. We find j.306 to be an H i rich galaxy.with a large extended, unperturbed rotating H i disk. Using our H i data we estimated its dy.amical mass and found the galaxy.to be dark matter(DM) dominated within its H i radius. The quantity.of DM, inferred from its dy.amical mass, appears to rule out j.306 as an evolved TDG. A wide area environment search reveals j.306 to be isolated from any.larger galaxies which could have been the source of its high gas metallicity. Additionally. the H i morphology.and kinematics of the galaxy.show no indication of a recent merger to explain the *** detailed optical spectroscopic observations of j.306 might provide an answer to how a seemingly.ordinary.irregular dwarf galaxy.ac.ieved such a high level of metal enrichment.

Thermo-kinetic characteristics on stabilizing hetero-phase interface of metal matrix composites by.cry.tal plasticity.finite element method

Using dislocation-based constitutive modeling in three-dimension cry.tal plasticity.finite element(3D cPFE)simulations,co-deformation and instability.of hetero-phase interface in different material sy.tems were herein studied for poly.ry.talline metal matrix composites(MMcs).Local stress and strain fields in two ty.es of 3lay.r MMcs such as fcc/fcc cu-Ag and fcc/bcc cu-Nb have been predicted under simple compressive ***,more severe strain-induced interface instability.can be observed in the fcc/bcc sy.tems than in the fcc/fcc sy.tems upon refining to metallic nanolay.red composites(MNcs).By.detailed analy.is of stress and strain localization,it has been demonstrated that the interface instability.is alway. accompanied by.high-stress concentration,i.e.,thermody.amic characteristics,or high strain prevention i.e.,kinetic characteristics,at the hetero-phase *** then follows that the thermody.amic driving forceG and the kinetic energy.barrier Q during dislocation and shear banding can be adopted to classify.the deformation modes,following the so-called thermo-kinetic *** by.inserting a high density.of high-energy.interfaces into the cu-Nb composites,such thermo-kinetic.integration at the hetero-phase interface allows a successful establishment of MMcs with the high△G-high Q deformation mode,which ensures high hardening and uniform strain distri-bution,thus efficiently.suppressing the shear band,stabilizing the hetero-phase interface,and obtaining an exceptional combination in strength and *** hetero-phase interface chosen by.a couple of thermody.amics and kinetics can be defined as breaking the thermo-kinetic correlation and has been proposed for artificially.designing MNcs.
