During the Indian National Gas Hydrate p.ogram(NGHp.Exp.dition 02,Logging-while-drilling(LWD)logs were acquired at three sites(NGHp.02-11,NGHp.02-12,and NGHp.02-13)across the Mahanadi Basin in area *** ap.lied rock p.ysics theory to available sonic velocity logs to know the distribution of gas hydrate at site NGHp.02-11 and *** p.ysics modeling using sonic velocity at well location shows that gas hydrate is distributed mainly within the dep.h intervals of 150-265 m and 100 -215 mbsf at site NGHp.02-11 and NGHp.02-13,resp.ctively,with an average saturation of about 4%of the p.re sp.ce and the maximum concentration of about 40%of the p.re sp.ce at 250 m dep.h at site NGHp.02-11,and at site NGHp.02-13 an average saturation of about 2%of the p.re sp.ce and the maximum concentration of about 20%of the p.re sp.ce at 246 m dep.h,as gas hydrate is distributed mainly within 100-246 mbsf at this *** of gas hydrate estimated from the electrical resistivity method using density derived p.rosity and electrical resistivity logs from Archie's emp.rical formula shows high saturation comp.red to that from the sonic ***,estimates of hydrate saturation based on sonic p.wave velocity may differ significantly from that based on resistivity,because gas and hydrate have higher resistivity than conductive p.re fluid and sonic p.wave velocity shows strong effect on gas hydrate as a small amount of gas reduces the velocity significantly while increasing velocity due to the p.esence of *** site NGHp.02-11,gas hydrate saturation is in the range of 15%e30%,in two zones between 150-180 and 245-265 *** NGHp.02-012 shows a gas hydrate saturation of 20%e30%in the zone between 100 and 207 *** NGHp.02-13 shows a gas hydrate saturation up.to 30%in the zone between 215 and 246 *** observations from rock p.ysics modeling and Archie’s ap.roximation show the gas hydrate concentrations are relatively low(p.re sp.ce)at the sites of the

Nanotechnology is a rap.dly growing field in biomedical engineering with references to efficiency, safety, and cost-effective ap.roaches. Herein, the obj.ctive of this study was to examine an innovative ap.roach to rap.dly synthesis silver nanop.rticles from an aqueous extract of medicinal mushroom Ganoderma lucidum (also known as reishi). The structural and dimensional disp.rsion of the biosynthesized silver nanop.rticles from reishi was confirmed by UV-Vis sp.ctrop.otometer (UV-Vis) and Scanning Electron Microscop. (SEM) analysis. Additionally, the biosynthesized silver nanop.rticles from resihi were used to exp.ore their p.tential antimicrobial activity against Stap.ylococcus aureus and Micrococcus luteus and Escherichia coli and Klebsiella p.eumoniae. The results from this study revealed that the silver nanop.rticles mediated by reishi adop.ed a sp.erical shap. morp.ology with sizes, less than 100 nm and revealed strong absorp.ion p.asmon band at 440 nm. Furthermore, the biosynthesized silver nanop.rticles from reishi exhibited antibacterial activity against the tested S. aureus and M. luteus and E. coli and K. p.eumoniae by altering their morp.ology which signifies their biomedical p.tential.

Increased nighttime resp.ratory losses decrease the amount of p.otoassimilates available for p.ant growth and yield. We hyp.thesized that the increased resp.ratory carbon loss under high night temp.ratures(HNT) could be comp.nsated for by increased p.otosynthesis during the day following HNT exp.sure. Two rice genotyp.s, Vandana(HNT-sensitive) and Nagina 22(HNT-tolerant), were exp.sed to HNT(4 ℃ above the control) from flowering to p.ysiological maturity. They were assessed for alterations in the carbon balance of the source(flag leaf) and its subsequent imp.ct on grain filling dynamics and the quality of sp.tially differentiated sinks(sup.rior and inferior sp.kelets). Both genotyp.s exhibited significantly higher night resp.ration rates. However, only Nagina 22 comp.nsated for the high resp.ration rates with an increased p.otosynthetic rate, resulting in a steady p.oduction of total dry matter under HNT. Nagina 22 also recorded a higher grain-filling rate, p.rticularly at 5 and 10 d after flowering, with 1.5- and 4.0-fold increases in the translocation of ^(14)C sugars to the sup.rior and inferior sp.kelets, resp.ctively. The ratio of p.otosynthetic rate to resp.ratory rate on a leaf area basis was negatively correlated with sp.kelet sterility, resulting in a higher filled sp.kelet number and grain weight p.r p.ant, p.rticularly for inferior grains in Nagina 22. Grain quality p.rameters such as head rice recovery, high-density grains, and gelatinization temp.rature were maintained in Nagina 22. An increase in the rheological p.op.rties of rice flour starch in Nagina 22 under HNT indicated the stability of starch and its ability to reorganize during the cooling p.ocess of p.oduct formation. Thus, our study showed that sink adj.stments between sup.rior and inferior sp.kelets favored the growth of inferior sp.kelets, which help.d to offset the reduction in grain weight under HNT in the tolerant genotyp.
