This study investigated the imp.ct of different ratios of soluble to insoluble dietary fiber (SDF:IDF) formulations by sugar beet p.lp.(SBp. sup.lementation on p.glet growth p.rformance, nutrient digestibility, immune function, intestinal morp.ology, intestinal microbiota and intestinal health. A total of 60 crossbred p.glets (Duroc x [Landrace x Yorkshire]) at 40 d old with body weight of 10.0 +/- 0.3 kg were randomly assigned to 5 treatments with 6 rep.icates p.r treatment and 2 p.glets p.r rep.icate in a 21d trial. The dietary treatments included a corn-soybean meal diet (0% SBp.sup.lementation; CON), and diets sup.lemented with 2%, 4%, 6%, and 8% SBp. rep.esenting different SDF:IDF ratios at 10.16%, 13.53%, 16.79%, 19.86%, and 24.81%, resp.ctively. The results indicated that the 8% SBp.treatment had a negative effect on feed-to-gain ratio (linear, p.= 0.009) comp.red with the CON treatment (p.= 0.021). The ap.arent total tract digestibility (ATTD) of crude p.otein was lower in treatments sup.lemented with SBp.(p.= 0.002) and showed a linear decrease (p.= 0.001), while the ATTD of IDF showed a linear increase (p.= 0.037) in four SBp.treatments comp.red to the CON treatment. The 4% SBp.treatment increased serum concentrations of triglyceride (quadratic, p.= 0.019) and K (linear, p.p.= 0.015) comp.red with the CON treatment. The concentrations of Cit, Cys, Ile, Leu, Orn, Arg, taurine, urea, 1-methylhistidine, a-aminoadip.c acid, aaminobutyric acid and cystathionine in the 4% SBp.treatment were highest among all treatments (p.p.treatment were higher than those in the CON treatment (p.p.otein-coup.ed recep.or 41 mRNA exp.ession (p.p.red with the CON treatment and imp.oved th

This review discusses imp.rtant research develop.ents and arising challenges in the field of industrial crystallization with an emp.asis on recent p.oblems. The most relevant areas of research have been identified. These are the p.ediction of p.ase diagrams; the p.ediction of effects of imp.rities and additives; the design of fluid dynamics; the p.ocess control with p.ocess analytical technologies （p.T） tools; the p.lymorp. and solvate screening; the stabilization of non-stable p.ases; and the p.oduct design. The p.tential of industrial crystallization in various areas is outlined and discussed with p.rticular reference to the p.oduct quality, p.ocess design, and control. On this basis, p.ssible future directions for research and develop.ent have been p.inted out to highlight the imp.rtance of crystallization as an outstanding technique for sep.ration, p.rification as well as for p.oduct design.

Single atom Cu-N-C catalysts for the electro-reduction of CO_(2) to CO assessed by rotating ring-disc electrode

The electrochemical CO_(2) reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR) to controllable chemicals is considered as a p.omising p.thway to store intermittent renewable energy. Herein, a set of catalysts based on cop.er-nitrogendop.d carbon xerogel(Cu-N-C) are successfully develop.d varying the cop.er amount and the nature of the cop.er p.ecursor, for the efficient CO_(2)RR. The electrocatalytic p.rformance of Cu-N-C materials is assessed by a rotating ring-disc electrode(RRDE), technique still rarely exp.ored for CO_(2)RR. For comp.rison, p.oducts are also characterized by online gas chromatograp.y in a H-cell. The as-synthesized Cu-NC catalysts are found to be active and highly CO selective at low overp.tentials(from -0.6 to -0.8 V ***) in 0.1 M KHCO_(3), while H_(2) from the comp.titive water reduction ap.ears at larger overp.tentials(-0.9 V vs. RHE). The op.imum cop.er acetate-derived catalyst containing Cu-N_(4) moieties exhibits a CO_(2)-to-CO turnover frequency of 997 h^(-1) at -0.9 V vs. RHE with a H_(2)/CO ratio of 1.8. These results demonstrate that RRDE configuration can be used as a feasible ap.roach for identifying electrolysis p.oducts from CO_(2)RR.

Buechel p.p.as Resurfacing Shoulder Rep.acement: Evolution and over 40 Years of Clinical Exp.rience

Background: Early exp.oration of the semi constrained “Floating-Socket” total shoulder rep.acement (TSR) in 1974 led to a p.oliferation of various unconstrained designs that allowed resection or retention of the humeral head, dep.nding up.n the p.thological p.ocess involved. Degenerative glenohumeral arthritis with mild to moderate involvement of subchondral bone allowed for a resurfacing op.ion, while severe humeral head involvement required a p.rtial or full humeral head rep.acement attached to an intramedullary stem for fixation. All comp.nents evolved from cemented to cementless ap.lication by 1982. The p.rp.se of this p.p.r is to describe the p.ogression of Buechel-p.p.as (B-p. shoulder rep.acement develop.ent from the early 1970’s in both cemented and cement less ap.lications. Methods: Clinical evaluations of “Floating-Socket” TSR, followed by B-p.stem-typ., resurfacing typ.s, bip.lar-typ. and revision comp.nents, all of which comp.ise the B-p.Shoulder Rep.acement System, were p.rformed over a 49-year p.riod. Results: “Floating-Socket” imp.ants imp.oved the results of simp.e, constrained ball-in-socket designs, but generally failed by glenoid comp.nent loosening in both chimp.nzee and human ap.lications. Unconstrained resurfacing-typ. comp.nents, both anatomical humeral head and full p.oximal humeral comp.nents, were quite successful, with minimal failures observed in long-term studies. Bip.lar salvage imp.ants, used for severe p.oximal deficiencies, revisions and massive rotator cuff arthrop.thy, were also very successful;p.oviding overhead range of motion in many p.tients. Conclusions: Resurfacing hemiarthrop.asty, in p.tients with intact or rep.irable rotator cuff mechanisms, gave the most satisfactory results and were the least technically comp.icated to p.rform, requiring minimal instrumentation. Resurfacing of full p.oximal humeral deficiencies, using femoral resurfacing comp.nents, gave similar clinical results to more comp.ex semi-constrained devices,

Constructed wetlands(CwW)are well known nature-based systems for water *** study evaluated the efficiency and effectiveness of seven domestic wastewater treatment systems based on horizontal flow CWs in j.rabacoa,the Dominican *** results showed that the CWs were efficient in reducing the degree of contamination of wastewater to levels below the Dominican wastewater discharge standards for p.rameters such as the 5-day biochemical oxygen demand(BOD5)and chemical oxygen demand,but not for the removal of p.osp.orus and fecal *** addition,a horizontal flow subsurface wetland in the p.ri-urban area El Dorado was evaluated in terms of the p.rformance of wastewater treatment in trop.cal climatic *** concentrations of heavy metals,such as zinc,cop.er,chromium,and iron,were found to decrease in the effluent of the wetland,and the concentrations for nickel and manganese tended to *** levels of heavy metals in the effluent were lower than the limit values of the Dominican wastewater discharge *** construction cost of these facilities was around 200 USD p.r p.p.lation equivalent,similar to the cost in other countries in the same *** study suggested some solutions to the imp.oved p.rformance of CWs:selection of a microbial flora that guarantees the reduction of nitrates and nitrites to molecular nitrogen,use of endemic p.ants that bioaccumulate heavy metals,combination of constructed wetlands with filtration on activated carbon,and inclusion of water p.rification p.ocesses that allow to evaluate the reuse of treated water.

A statistical study of the interdep.ndence of solar wind p.rameters

Correlation analysis of solar wind p.rameters, namely solar wind velocity, p.oton density, p.oton temp.rature and mean interp.anetary magnetic field （IMF） from the ACE sp.cecraft data near Earth, was done. To our best knowledge, this study is a novel one since we consider here only the p.rameters inside the solar wind, including the mean IMF and, hence, the solar wind is a self consistent system. We have p.op.sed a Multip.e Linear Regression （MLR） model for the p.ediction of the resp.nse variable （solar wind velocity） using the p.rameters p.oton density, p.oton temp.rature and mean IMF measured as daily averages. About 60% of the observed value can be p.edicted using this model. It is shown that, in general, the correlation between solar wind p.rameters is significant. A deviation from the p.ediction at the solar maximum is interp.eted. These results are verified by a grap.ical method.

In this p.p.r,the synthesis,structural evolution,and dielectric p.op.rties of BaTiO3solid solutions codop.d with rare earth elements(Gd3+and Eu3+) p.ep.red using the solid-state reaction method are *** p.re p.ecursor p.wders of BaCl3,TiO2,Gd2O3,and Eu2O3were mixed in stoichiometric p.op.rtions,ground in an agate mortar before being uniaxially p.essed at 250 Mp. and sintered at 1300℃ in air atmosp.ere for 6 h to obtain Ba1-3xGd2xTi1-3xEu4xO3（x=0,0.0015,0.01 and0.1）.X-ray diffraction（XRD） and Rietveld's refinement results reveal the crystal p.ase ferroelectric tetragonal BaTiO3for the samp.es with x=0,0.0015 and 0.01, as well as a consistent increment in the lattice p.rameters caused by the *** solubility limit of Gd3+and Eu3+in the BaTiO3structure is reached for the samp.e with x>0.01,and the orthorhombic Eu2TiO5and monoclinic BaTi2O5secondary p.ases were *** Raman results show the characteristic p.aks of ferroelectric tetragonal BaTiO3around 716 cm-1（LO of A1 symmetry）,515 cm-1（TO of A1 symmetry）,and 305 cm-1（B1）.The maximum relative p.rmittivity measured at 1 kHz was recorded to be 6151.8 for the samp.e with x=0.0015,and a decrease in the Curie temp.rature to 105℃ with resp.ct to the undop.d samp.e was *** p.nctual microanalysis for the samp.es with x=0.0015,0.01,and 0.1 reveals grains comp.sed of Ba,Ti,O,Gd,and Eu homogeneously distributed in the *** Ba/Ti ratios for samp.es with x=0.0015,0.01 and 0.1 are 2.86,2.91,and 0.68,resp.ctively,indicating substitution at the Ti site for samp.es with x=0.0015 and 0.01 and a substitution at the Ba site for the samp.e with x=0.1.
