Backgro.nd: Waste management is the generatio., preventio., characterizatio., mo.ito.ing, treatment, handling, reuse and residual dispo.itio. o. so.ial waste. The vario.s metho.s o. waste dispo.al include: recycling, co.po.ting, barging, burying, landfills metho., incineratio., and the use o. mechanical destructo.s. o.j.ctive: The aim o. this study was to.assess the kno.ledge, attitude and practice o. ho.se ho.d waste management amo.g the respo.dents and the facto.s affecting their cho.ce o. metho.. Metho.o.o.y: This was a cro.s sectio.al descriptive study. There were 270 respo.dents. The study was carried o.t amo.g ho.seho.ds in Anao.ha LGA o. Anambra state. The study made use o. a semi-structured interviewer administered questio.naire. Result: Maj.rity had go.d kno.ledge o. waste management and po.trayed go.d attitude to.ards waste management practices. The co.mo.est metho. o. waste dispo.al practiced by the co.munity was burning and maj.rity practiced the vario.s metho.s because the metho.s were co.venient fo. them. Co.clusio.: The study sho.ed that peo.le, despite having go.d kno.ledge and attitude to.ards waste management still practiced wro.g metho.s.
