We conducted a study to examine the pattem of develop- ment of herbaceous plant species, woody species regeneration and soil physical characteristics after tree uprooting in 20-ha areas of Experimen- tal Forest station of Tarbiat Modares University located in a temperate forest of Mazandaran province in the north of Iran. soil bulk.density, soil texture and moisture from pit and mound （PM） were measured in the laboratory. results show that the soil bulk.density was most in soil deeper layers at mound top, and the soil moisture content was most in soil deeper layers at Pit bottom. Our study supports that the mi- cro-topography of PM （pit and mound） topography will create a mosaic of environmental conditions. This environmental heterogeneity could be responsible for the diversity of herbaceous plant species and regeneration of woody species. It is recommend that the fallen trees with PM structure should remain in the protected area without clearing as the best option for forest restoration. This information can be useful for forest management that attempts to emulate natural processes.

X-ray absorption spectroscopy(XAs)produces a wealth of information about the local structure of materials,but interpretation of spectra often relies on easily accessible trends and prior assumptions about the ***,researchers have demonstrated that machine learning models can automate this process to predict the coordinating environments of absorbing atoms from their XAs ***,machine learning models are often difficult to interpret,mak.ng it challenging to determine when they are valid and whether they are consistent with physical *** this work.we present three main advances to the data-driven analysis of XAs spectra:we demonstrate the efficacy of random forests in solving two new property determination task.(predicting Bader charge and mean nearest neighbor distance),we address how choices in data representation affect model interpretability and accuracy,and we show that multiscale featurization can elucidate the regions and trends in spectra that encode various local properties.

Mountains are paramount for exploring biodiversity patterns due to the mosaic of topographies and climates encompassed over short *** research has traditionally focused on taxonomic diversity when investigating changes along elevational gradients,but other facets should be *** first time,we simultaneously assessed elevational trends in taxonomic,functional,and phylogenetic diversity of woody plants in Andean tropical montane forests and explored their underlying ecological and evolutionary *** investigation covered four transects(traversing ca.2200 m a.s.l.) encompassing 114 plots of 0.1 ha across a broad latitudinal range(ca.10°).Using Hill numbers to quantify abundance-based diversity among 37,869 individuals we observed a consistent decrease in taxonomic,functional,and phylogenetic diversity as elevation increased,although the decrease was less pronounced for higher Hill *** exception was a slight increase in phylogenetic diversity when dominant species were *** decrease in taxonomic and functional diversity might be attributed to an environmental filtering process towards highlands,where the increasingly harsher conditions exclude species and functional ***,the differences in steepness decrease between Hill orders suggest that rare species disproportionately contribute to functional *** phylogenetic diversity the shifting elevational trend between Hill orders indicates a greater than previously considered influence in central Andean highlands of tropical lowlands originated species with strong niche conservatism relative to distantly related temperate *** could be explained by a decreasing presence and abundance of temperate,extratropical taxa towards the central Andes relative to northern or southern Andes,where they are more prevalent.

The electric field in a surface discharge type ac-PDP cell with He or He/Xe(0.1%) mixture has been measured over a wide range of pressure (5 50k.1 using laser induced fluorescence detection. The wall voltage was estimated from the measured electric field. The stark.manifolds of triplet atomic helium Rydberg state (2s3s) with principal quantum numbers (n=8 and 9) have been used to measure the electric field, as the lifetime of 2s3s is longer than the single atomic helium Rydberg state (2s1s) in high pressure discharge. Comparison of the stark.manifolds between the n=9 and n=8shows that the measurement accuracy of electric field can be increased by 10%. The maximum electric field strength during discharge and the wall voltage at the end of pulse decreases with the increase of pressure. The comparison of He and He/Xe(0.1%) discharge at 13k.a showed that He/Xe gas mixture discharge can accumulate more wall charge on MgO surface and the electric field was somewhat higher than those of pure helium discharge during pulse off period under the same discharge conditions.

Effects of Planting Methods and seed Density on Vegetable Yield and Nutrient Composition of <i>solanum macrocarpon</i>and <i>solanum scabrum</i>in southwest Nigeria

Two field studies were carried out using solanum macrocarpon and solanum scabrum to investigate the effects of planting methods and seed density required for optimum biomass yield and nutrient content in southwest Nigeria. Two planting methods (drilling and broadcasting), and two seed densities (4 and 8 table spoon full) were investigated as a 2×2×3 factorial experiment in randomized complete block.design and replicated three times. Four seed spoons gave 25.78 k. seeds ha-1 for s. macrocarpon and 20.67 k.·seeds·ha-1 for s. scabrum. significant highest s. macrocarpon shoots (2.75 k.·m-2) and Ca, k. Fe and Zn contents and s. scabrum (2.95 k.·m-2) and Zn content, were obtained with drilling and four spoons of seeds compared with broadcasting and 8 spoons of seeds. This treatment gave average values for N, P, k. Mg, Ca, Na, Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu, Ca/P and Na/k.ratio were 2.79%, 0.03%, 3.37%, 1.64%, 0.02%, 300 mg·k.-1, 100 mg·k.-1, 300 mg·k.-1, 8 mg·k.-1, 1.22 and 0.008 for s. macrocarpon and 2.05%, 0.27%, 5.81%, 3.27%, 2.91%, 0.09%, 280 mg·k.-1, 52.99 mg·k.-1, 359.35 mg·k.-1 and 22.42 mg·k.-1, 11.63 and 0.016 for s. scabrum. It was concluded that planting in drilling made weeding, fertilizer application, irrigation and harvesting more effective rather than by broadcasting, and four spoons of seeds per 9 m-2 produced deep green and broader leaves and balanced nutrient contents than eight spoons of seeds.

The current spotlight of cancer therapeutics is shifting towards personalized medicine with the widespread use of monoclonal antibodies(mAbs).Despite their increasing potential,mAbs have an intrinsic limitation related to their inability to cross cell membranes and reach intracellular *** offers promising solutions to overcome this limitation,however,formulation challenges *** challenges are the limited loading capacity(often insufficient to achieve clinical dosing),the complex formulation methods,and the insufficient characterization of mAb-loaded ***,we present a new nanocarrier consisting of hyaluronic acid-based nanoassemblies(haNAs)specifically designed to entrap mAbs with a high efficiency and an outstanding loading capacity(50%,w/w).haNAs composed by an mAb,modified ha and phosphatidylcholine(PC)resulted in sizes of~100 nm and neutral surface *** modeling identified the principal factors governing the high affinity of mAbs with the amphiphilic ha and *** composition and structural configuration were analyzed using the orthogonal techniques cryogenic transmission electron microscopy(cryo-TEM),asymmetrical flow field-flow fractionation(AF4),and small-angle X-ray scattering(sAXs).These techniques provided evidence of the formation of core-shell nanostructures comprising an aqueous core surrounded by a bilayer consisting of phospholipids and amphiphilic *** vitro experiments in cancer cell lines and macrophages confirmed haNAs’low toxicity and ability to transport mAbs to the intracellular *** reproducibility of this assembling process at industrial-scale batch sizes and the long-term stability was *** conclusion,these results underscore the suitability of haNAs technology to load and deliver biologicals,which holds promise for future clinical translation.
