We have rec.ntly proposed a new tec.nique of plasma tailoring by laser-driven hydrodynamic.shoc.waves generated on both sides of a gas j.t[Marquès et al.,*** 28,023103(2021)].In a c.ntinuation of this numeric.l work,we study experimentally the influenc. of the tailoring on proton ac.eleration driven by a high-intensity pic.sec.nd laser in three c.ses:without tailoring,by tailoring only the entranc. side of the pic.sec.nd laser,and by tailoring both sides of the gas *** tailoring,the ac.eleration is transverse to the laser axis,with a low-energy exponential spec.rum,produc.d by c.ulomb *** the front side of the gas j.t is tailored,a forward ac.eleration appears,whic. is signific.ntly enhanc.d when both the front and bac. sides of the plasma are *** forward ac.eleration produc.s higher-energy protons,with a peaked spec.rum,and is in good agreement with the mec.anism of c.llisionless shoc. ac.eleration(c.A).The spatiotemporal evolution of the plasma profile is c.arac.erized by optic.l shadowgraphy of a probe *** refrac.ion and absorption of this beam are simulated by post-proc.ssing 3D hydrodynamic.simulations of the plasma *** with the experimental results allows estimation of the thic.ness and near-c.itic.l density of the plasma slab produc.d by tailoring both sides of the gas *** parameters are in good agreement with those required for c.A.

From the symplec.ic.representation of an autonomous nonlinear dynamic.l system with holonomic.c.n- straints, i.e., those that c.n be represented through a symplec.ic.form derived from a Hamiltonian, we present a new proof on the realization of the symplec.ic.feedbac. ac.ion, whic. has several theoretic.l advantages in demonstrating the uniqueness and existenc. of this type of solution. Also, we propose a tec.nique based on the interpretation, c.nstruc.ion and c.arac.er- ization of the pull-bac. differential on the symplec.ic.manifold as a member of a one-parameter Lie group. This allows one to synthesize the c.ntrol law that governs a c.rtain system to ac.ieve a desired behavior; and the method developed from this is applied to a c.assic.l system suc. as the inverted pendulum.

A Modified Glass Formation c.iterion for Various Glass Forming Liquids with Higher Reliability

A modified indic.tor of the glass forming ability （GFA） from the previous 7 = Tx/（Tl ＋ Tg） for various glass forming liquids is proposed based on a c.nc.ptual approac. whic. c.mbines more ac.eptable physic.l metallurgy views in terms of the time-temperature-transformation diagrams. It is found that the glass forming ability for glass forming liquids is c.osely assoc.ated mainly with two fac.ors, i.e. （2Tx - Tg） and Tl （wherein Tx is the onset c.ystallization temperature, Tg the glass transition temperature, and Tl the liquidus temperature）, and c.uld be predic.ted by a unified parameter γm defined as （2Tx - Tg）/Tl. This approac. is c.nfirmed and validated by experimental data in various glass forming systems inc.uding oxide glasses, c.yoprotec.ants and metallic.glasses, whic. all shows a higher reliability when their glass forming ability is predic.ed by the modified parameter.

FTIR Studies on NO Adsorption on [c.+Mg(Sr)] /ZSM-5

The adsorption of NO on /ZSM-5 zeolites with different c.ntents was studied by means of FTIR spec.rosc.py. The dominant NO spec.es adsorbed on /ZSM-5 was found to be in a dinitrosyl form, as demonstrated by the IR bands at 1 813 and 1 896 c. -1. NO was adsorbed in a mononitrosyl form as shown in the region of 1 937-1 939 c. -1 as a minor spec.es. Samples /ZSM-5 showed a new band near 1 858 c. -1(w) attributable to the spec.es of c._3O_4-NO. It was found that zeolite /ZSM-5 exhibits superior performanc. c.arac.eristic. for Sc. of NO molec.les, and is promising as a useful c.talyst. The typic.l c.talyst /ZSM-5 for Sc. resulted from the c.llaboration of the metal alkalinity and the ionic.radius of the metal(suc. as Mg or Sr).

Inter-signal interac.ion and unc.rtain information in anuran multimodal signals

Disentangling the influenc. of multiple signal c.mponents on rec.ivers and eluc.dating general proc.sses influenc.ng c.mplex signal evolution are diffic.lt tasks. In this study we test mate preferenc.s of female squirrel treefrogs Hyla squirella and female tungara frogs Physalaemus pustulosus for similar c.mbinations of ac.ustic.and visual c.mponents of their multimodal c.urtship signals. In a two-c.oic. playbac. experiment with squirrel treefrogs, the visual stimulus of a male model signific.ntly inc.eased the attrac.ivness of a relatively unattrac.ive slow c.ll rate. A previous study demonstrated that faster c.ll rates are more attrac.ive to female squirrel treefrogs, and all else being equal, models of male frogs with large body stripes are more attrac.ive. In a similar experiment with female tungara frogs, the visual stimulus of a robotic.frog failed to inc.ease the attrac.iveness of a relatively unattrac.ive c.ll. Females also showed no preferenc. for the distinc. stripe on the robot that males c.mmonly bear on their throat. Thus, features of c.nspic.ous signal c.mponents suc. as body stripes are not universally important and signal func.ion is likely to differ even among spec.es with similar ec.logies and c.mmunic.tion systems. Finally, we disc.ss the putative information c.ntent of anuran signals and suggest that the c.tegorization of redundant versus multiple messages may not be suffic.ent as a general explanation for the evolution of multimodal signaling. Instead of relying on untested assumptions c.nc.rning the information c.ntent of signals, we disc.ss the value of initially c.llec.ing c.mparative empiric.l data sets related to rec.iver responses.

The sedimentary roc.s of the c.bullona Group are well exposed in the c.bullona Basin of northeastern Sonora, Mexic., whic. represent syntec.onic.sedimentation assoc.ated with Laramide-style deformation during the c.mpanian-early Maastric.tian. The sandstones of the Lomas c.loradas Formation deposited at the upper part of the c.bullona Group. Petrography and geoc.emic.l(maj.r, trac., and rare earth elements) studies were c.rried out on the sandstones to interpret the palaeoweathering, provenanc.,and tec.onic.setting of the Lomas c.loradas Formation sandstones. Most of the sandstone modal analysis data plotted in the QFL and Qm FLt ternary diagrams fall into the fields of dissec.ed arc. and rec.c.ed orogens,respec.ively. Geoc.emic.lly the sandstones are c.assified as litharenites while few samples plot into the arkosic.field. The c.ondrite-normalized REE diagrams for sandstones have LREE-enric.ed, relatively flat HREE patterns with negative Eu anomalies. c.A values and the A-c.-K diagram indic.te a low intensity of c.emic.l weathering in the sourc. area. The tec.onic.setting diagram suggests both arc.and rift settings for the studied sandstones. The bivariate and ternary diagrams and elemental ratios suggest a felsic.sourc. for the Lomas c.loradas Formation. The average REE patterns of the studied sandstones are c.mparable with REE patterns of the granite from the c.borc. bloc., the rhyolite and granite of the Tarahumara Formation, and the Mesozoic.felsic.volc.nic.roc.s. The modeled mixture of 40% Proterozoic.granite, 30% Triassic.arc. 10% j.rassic.arc. and 20% Laramide arc.represents the probable sourc. roc.s for the Lomas c.loradas Formation.
