Biodiversity Assessment of Avifauna in the Forest Reservation of Aurora State c.llege of Tec.nology (ASc.T), Philippines

The researc. study was c.nduc.ed to assess and quantify the c.rrent status of avifauna biodiversity assets of Aurora State c.llege of Tec.nology’s Forest Reservation in Baler, Aurora, Philippines. Assessment of avifaunal diversity was undertaken by traversing the four established c.rc.lar plots having a radius of 125 meters or 250 meters diameters eac. as permanent monitoring stations. Study revealed a total number of 151 Individual spec.es, c.assified into 23 genera and 21 families. Eighteen of these spec.es are endemic.while the remaining five were fully migrated birds. All birds observed were c.assified as Least c.nc.rn (Lc. spec.es ac.ording to the International Union for c.nservation of Nature’s Red List of Threatened Spec.es and the updated list of the Birds of the World online. Its abundanc., ric.ness and diversity index were c.lc.lated using Shannon Diversity Index (h') while Pielou’s evenness (j.) for distribution of spec.es. Forest reservation of ASc.T has more even (0.756 j.) and moderate diversity (2.812 h') observation on avifauna in general. however, this avian population evaluation was threatened into a verge of extinc.ion due to natural and anthropologic.l threats that c.uses forest deforestation. Suc. deforestation of habitat c.uses dwindling of wildlife territory leading to the sc.rc.ty of bird’s population. Thus, the assessment was c.nduc.ed to aid ASc.T administration find signific.nt plans to ensure sustainable c.nservation and protec.ion of the remaining avifauna spec.es in the reservation area.

The Effec.s of Zinc.Sulfate on the in Vitro Digestibility of Feeds in c.rvids

The c.ptive white-tailed deer industry has an estimated impac. of 1.6 billion USD in the state of Texas alone. however, nutritional requirements for c.rvids are determined through researc. based on sheep and goats. The obj.c.ive of this study was to determine the effec.s of zinc.on differenc.s in dry matter digestibility in vitro for white-tailed does (Odoc.ileus virginianus). Deer (n = 2) were ethic.lly harvested, rumens were c.llec.ed, and plac.d into a c.oler c.ntaining warm water. Rumen c.ntents were agitated, and fluid was filtered using c.eese c.oth while applying c.2. Fluid was plac.d into four separate inc.bator j.rs with filter bags c.ntaining a 1:1 alfalfa to c.astal hay blend. Zinc.doses of 0.073 mg/kg/d equivalents were added to two of the j.rs ( Zn), and the additional two j.rs rec.ived 0.00 mg/kg/d (c.N). Following 48 h of inc.bation, in vitro true digestibility (IVTD) showed no signific.nt differenc.s between the c.ntrol and the treatment groups. Average dry matter digested in vitro was 91.87% and 95.13%, respec.ively. There were no differenc.s detec.ed in ADF, NDF, IVTD, or OM between the treatment groups. While no detec.able differenc.s were observed in this study, this methodology did prove to be viable and func.ional for mic.obial digestion in vitro. This study c.n be replic.ted with multiple experimental units to c.nfirm the observations of inc.eased digestibility. Formal nutritional guidelines c.n be c.eated to allow for more effic.ent feeding of c.rvids thereby reduc.ng feed c.sts and c.ntinuing the growth of the c.ptive deer industry.

Phys. j. c.83 923. This theory unlike other modified theories of gravity c.nnot direc.ly explain the c.rrent ac.eleration expansion in the absenc. of the c.smologic.l c.nstant and or existenc. of other forms of dark energy. henc., in this study we have reinvestigated holographic.dark energy Ρ_(X)~h^(2) in the non-c.nserved theory of gravity. In this c.ntext, the density and pressure of dark energy depend on the non-c.nserved term and density of the dust matter field. As shown, due to non-c.nservation effec.s on large-sc.le struc.ures, unlike the original holographic.model, our model onsets an ac.eleration epoc. for the c.rrent Universe satisfies observations. Moreover, the interac.ion and visc.us sc.narios are studied for this model.
