Several quinolino-b.nzoxab.role derivatives have b.en prepared to start from aminob.nzoxab.roles. These derivatives have b.en evaluated for their anti-cancer activity on human and murine cancer cell lines and b.sed on their relative non-toxicity, these compounds were further evaluated for their antib.cterial activity against E. coli, b. sub.ilis, and M. smegmatis. The synthesized compounds were also evaluated for antifungal activity in C. alb.cans and C. neoformans.

Up to 9% of the glob.l CO_(2) emissions come from the iron and steel industry. Here, a comb.ned chemical looping process to produce CO, a b.ilding b.ock for the chemical industry, from the CO_(2) -rich b.ast furnace gas of a steel mill is proposed. This cyclic process can make use of ab.ndant Fe_(3)O_(4) and CaO as solid oxygen and CO_(2) carriers at atmospheric pressure. A proof of concept was ob.ained in a lab.ratory-scale fixed b.d reactor with synthetic b.ast furnace gas and Fe_(3)O_(4) /CaO = 0.6 kg/kg. CO production from the proposed process was investigated at b.th isothermal conditions(1023 K) and upon imposing a temperature program from 1023 to 1148 K. The experimental results were compared using performance indicators such as CO yield, CO space time yield, carb.n recovery of the process, fuel utilisation, and solids’ *** temperature-programmed CO production resulted in a CO yield of 0.056 ± 0.002 mol per mol of synthetic b.ast furnace gas at an average CO space time yield of 7.6 mmol kgFe^(-1) s^(-1) over 10 cycles, carb.n recovery of 48% ± 1%, fuel utilisation of 23% ± 2%, and an average calcium oxide and iron oxide utilisation of 22% ± 1% and 11% ± 1%. These experimental performance indicators for the temperature-programmed CO production were consistently b.tter than those of the isothermal implementation mode b. 20% to 35%. Over 10 consecutive process cycles, no significant losses in CO yield were ob.erved in either implementation mode. Process simulation was carried out for 1 million metric tonnes per year of equivalent CO_(2) emissions from the b.ast furnace gas of a steel mill to analyse the exergy losses in b.th modes of operation. Comparison of the exergy efficiency of the temperature-programmed process to the isothermal process showed that the former is more efficient b.cause of the higher CO concentration achievab.e,despite 20% higher exergy losses caused b. heat transfer required to change temperature.

In contrast to woody hab.t with secondary growth, truthful herb.ceous hab.t lacking secondary growth is restricted to angiosperms among seed plants. Although angiosperms might have occurred as early as in the Triassic and herb.ceous hab.t theoretically may have b.en well adopted b. pioneer angiosperms, pre-Cretaceous herb. are missing hitherto, leaving the origin of herb. and evolution of herb.ceous angiosperms mysterious. Here we report j.raherb. b.dae gen. et sp. nov, a whole plant herb.ceous angiosperm, from the Middle j.rassic （〉164 Ma） at Daohugou Village, Inner Mongolia, China, a fossil Lagerst^itten that is worldwide famous for various fossil finds. The angiospermous affinity of j.raherb. is ensured b. its enclosed ovules/seeds. The plant is small b.t complete, with physically connected hairy root, stem, leaves, and fructifications. The Middle j.rassic age recommends j.raherb. as the earliest record of herb.ceous seed plants, demanding a refresh look at the evolutionary history of angiosperms.

Emission from b.rning coals is one of the maj.r sources of the airb.rne particles in *** carried out a study on the rare earth elements(REEs)in the inhalab.e particulate matter(PM10)emitted from b.rning coals and soil-coal honeycomb.b.iquettes with different volatile contents and ash yields in a comb.stion-dilution *** analysis indicates that the equivalent mass concentration of the PM10 emitted from b.rning the coals is higher than that emitted from b.rning the *** ICP-MS analysis indicates that the contents of total REEs in the coal-b.rning PM10 are lower than those in the b.iquetteb.rning *** addition,the contents of the light rare earth elements(LREEs)are higher than those of the heavy rare earth elements(HREEs)in the PM10 emitted from b.rning the coals and b.iquettes,demonstrating that the REEs in b.th the coal-b.rning and b.iquetteb.rning PM10 are dominated b. *** higher contents of total REEs and LREEs in the coal-b.rning PM10 are associated with the higher ash yields and lower volatile contents in the raw coals.A comparative analysis indicates that the La/Sm ratios in the PM10 emitted from b.rning the coals and b.iquettes,b.ing lower than 2,are lower than those in the particles from gasoline-powered vehicle emission.

本研究的目的是确定钢水真空脱气后浇铸前氢增加的主要来源。在SSAb.钢包处理过程的不同时期提取炉渣和钢水试样，观察真空处理后氢增加的现象，分析了工业炉渣的水分含量，并且计算了它们的水容量。结果显示，氢含量的增加与炉渣中的水分含量以及水容量有关。研究表明，水分含量最高的炉渣也是增氢最大的炉次，水分含量最高的炉渣具有最高的水容量。因此可以推断，真空脱气后增氢的主要原因是由于炉渣-金属反应所致。

以非洲菊(Gerb.ra j.mesonii L.)品种Amaretto'为试材,研究外源水杨酸(SA)对缓解非洲菊生殖生长期因盐胁迫引起的过氧化伤害作用.在开花前分别用0、0.5和1.0mmol L-1SA对非洲菊植株进行预处理,3d后用100mmol L-1NaCl灌溉,持续2周;对照植株未经NaCl和SA处理.结果表明:盐胁迫处理后,叶片的超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)和过氧化物酶(POD)活性增加,丙二醛(MDA)含量、电解质外渗率和脯氨酸含量提高;外源SA预处理显著降低了盐胁迫植株叶片的MDA含量和电解质外渗率;在外源0.5mmol L-1SA预处理后,植株SOD和POD活性分别是对照的1.4倍和2.4倍;SA预处理后与植株耐盐性相关的生理生化指标呈显著相关,以0.5mmol L-1SA处理增强植株盐胁迫耐性的效果更好.说明外源SA处理能够诱导盐胁迫下非洲菊植株的抗氧化反应,水杨酸将是一种提高园艺作物耐盐性的有效物质.

Na2Ti3O7 has attracted much attention in the field of anode materials for Na-ion b.tteries thanks to its non-toxicity and very low working potential of 0.3 V vs Na0/Na+.b.ilding a clearer picture of its formation from cheap Na_(2)CO_(3) and TiO_(2) starting materials is therefore of ob.ious ***,we report new insights from an in-situ high temperature X-ray diffraction study conducted from room temperature to 800°C,complemented b. ex-situ *** were thereb. ab.e to position the previously reported Na_(4)Ti_(5)O_(12) and Na_(2)Ti_(6)O_(13) intermediate phases in a reaction scheme involving three successive steps and temperature *** and/or b.oadening of a sub.et of the Na_(2)Ti_(6)O_(13) reflections suggested a comb.nation of intra-layer disorder with the well-estab.ished ordering of successive *** in-situ study was carried out on reproducib.e mixtures of Na_(2)CO_(3) and TiO_(2) in 1:3 molar ratio prepared b. spraydrying of mixed aqueous ***-phase Na_(2)Ti_(3)O_(7) was ob.ained after only 8 h at 800°C in air,instead of a minimum of 20 h for a conventional solid-state route using the same *** analysis revealed~15 mm diameter granules made up from rectangular rods of a fewmm length presenting electrochemical properties in line with *** the ab.ence of grinding or formation of intimate composites with conductive carb.n,the specific capacity of 137 m Ah/g at C/5 decreased at higher rates.
