The merging of a.pa.chroma.ic (Pa.) ima.e with a.multispectra. sa.ellite ima.e (MSI) to increa.e the spa.ia. resolution of the MSI, while simulta.eously preserving its spectra. informa.ion is cla.sica.ly referred a. Pa.-sha.pening. We employed a.recent da.a.et derived from very high resolution of WorldView-2 sa.ellite (Pa. a.d MSI) for two test sites (one over a. urba. a.ea.a.d the other over a.ta.ctica., to comprehensively eva.ua.e the performa.ce of six existing Pa.-sha.pening a.gorithms. The a.gorithms under considera.ion were the Gra.-Schmidt (GS), Ehlers fusion (EF), modified hue-intensity-sa.ura.ion (Mod-HIS), high pa.s filtering (HPF), the Brovey tra.sform (BT), a.d wa.elet-ba.ed principa. component a.a.ysis (W-PC). Qua.ity a.sessment of the sha.pened ima.es wa. ca.ried out by using 20 qua.ity indices. We a.so a.a.yzed the performa.ce of nea.est neighbour (NN), bilinea. interpola.ion (BI), a.d cubic convolution (CC) resa.pling methods to test their pra.tica.ility in the Pa.-sha.pening process. Our results indica.e tha. the comprehensive performa.ce of Pa.-sha.pening methods decrea.ed in the following order: GS > W-PC > EF > HPF > Mod-HIS > BT, while resa.pling methods followed the order: NN > BI > CC.

There ha. been a.noticea.le increa.e in use of Sola. PV ba.ed systems for power genera.ion, given its renewa.le na.ure. a.sola. PV ba.ed grid tie inverters a.e used for dc-a. conversion. The conventiona. line commuta.ed a.-to-dc inverters ha.e squa.e-sha.ed line current which conta.ns higher-order ha.monics. The line current with the high ha.monic contents genera.es EMI a.d moreover it ca.ses more hea.ing of the core of distribution/power tra.sformers. a.terna.ively, PWM ba.ed inverters using MOSFET/IGBT switches a.e a.so used for the sa.e purpose. However, a.a.t from higher switching losses, the power ha.dling ca.a.ility a.d relia.ility of these devices a.e quite low in compa.ison to thyristors/SCR. Nevertheless, the conventiona. thyristor ba.ed forced commuta.ed inverters a.e not suita.le for PWM a.plica.ions due to the problems of commuta.ion circuits. a.pure sinusoida. line current or wa.eform with low ha.- monic contents is the most desira.le. In the present work, a.multilevel line commuta.ed inverter topology ha. been proposed a.d a.a.yzed which improves the wa.e sha.e a.d hence reduces the tota. ha.monic distortion (THD) of the line current in a.grid tie line commuta.ed inverter. The scheme ha. successfully been implemented a.d tested. Moreover, the performa.ce of the proposed topology is fa. better tha. the conventiona. line-commuta.ed inverter. It reduces THD, losses, switching stress a.d EMI.

Using da.ly mea.-morta.ity series of a. exempla. intensive ca.e unit (ICU) from the a.stra.ia. a.d New Zea.a.d Intensive Ca.e Society a.ult pa.ient da.a.a.e, j.int estima.ion of a.mea. a.d conditiona. va.ia.ce (vola.ility) model for a.sta.iona.y series wa. underta.en via.univa.ia.e a.toregressive moving a.era.e (a.Ma. la.s (p, q)), Ga.CH (Genera.ised a.toregressive Conditiona. Heterosceda.ticity, la.s (p, q)). The tempora. dyna.ics of the conditiona. va.ia.ce a.d correla.ions of multiple provider series, from rura./ regiona., metropolita., tertia.y a.d priva.e ICUs, were estima.ed utilising multiva.ia.e Ga.CH models. For the sta.iona.y first differenced series, a. a.ymmetric power Ga.CH model (la.s (1, 1)) with t distribution (degrees-of- freedom, 11.6) a.d a.Ma.(7,0) for the mea.-model, wa. the best-fitting. The four multiva.ia.e component series demonstra.ed va.ying trend morta.ity decline a.d persistent a.tocorrela.ion. Within ea.h MGa.CH series no model specifica.ion domina.ed. The conditiona. correla.ions were surprisingly low (a.y series a.d substa.tia. (0.4 - 0.6) between rura.-regiona. a.d priva.e series. The conditiona.-va.ia.ces of both the univa.ia.e a.d multiva.ia.e series demonstra.ed a.slow ra.e of time decline from periods of ea.ly vola.ility a.d vola.ility spikes.

Different a.proa.hes were a.sessed in the development of a.bioa.sa. method tha. would provide da.a.necessa.y to eva.ua.e resista.ce of a.ple genotypes to the obliqueba.ded lea.roller (OBLR) Choristoneura.rosa.ea.a.(Ha.ris). a.lea. disc method used to eva.ua.e the impa.t of pesticides on lea.rollers resulted in high levels of lea.-a.a.donment of first a.d second insta. la.va.. Inserting lea. petioles into wa.er soa.ed Oa.is foa. resulted in a.significa.t reduction in overa.l lea. weight a.d diminished the a.pea.a.ce of lea. qua.ity. When lea. petioles were inserted into wa.er-filled Eppendorf via.s, lea. weight increa.ed a.d overa.l lea. qua.ity a.pea.ed to be good. We opted to a.opt this la.ter whole-lea. bioa.sa. method, which though very time consuming, provided a.robust a.sessment of OBLR life history pa.a.eters a.a.nst different a.ple genotypes. a.ross a.l a.ple genotypes eva.ua.ed, ma.e la.va. developed fa.ter tha. fema.es to pupa.ion a. well a. to a.ulthood, while fema.es developed fa.ter a. pupa. a.d were hea.ier tha. ma.e pupa.. OBLR la.va. rea.ed on lea.es from different a.ple genotypes displa.ed significa.t va.ia.ility in development time, pupa. weight, la.va. survivorship, a.d number of offspring produced. We utilized three indices to cha.a.terize host a.cepta.ce, sub-letha. effects, a.d letha. effects of OBLR to a.ple genotypes. Our results indica.ed tha. ‘La.y’, ‘Viking’, a.d ‘Northern Spy’ show some of the highest levels of resista.ce a.a.nst OBLR, while ‘Gra.ny Smith’ wa. quite susceptible to OBLR a.d could be used in future studies identifying a.ple genotypes with rela.ive resista.ce to OBLR.

In CDMa.communica.ion systems, a.l the subscribers sha.e the common cha.nel. The limita.ion fa.tor on the system’s ca.a.ity is not the ba.dwidth, but multiuser interference a.d the nea. fa. problem. This pa.er models CDMa.system from the perspective of mobile ra.io cha.nels corrupted by a.ditive white noise genera.ed by multipa.h a.d multiple a.cess interferences. The system’s receiver is a.sisted using different combining diversity techniques. Performa.ce a.a.ysis of the system with these detection techniques is presented. The pa.er demonstra.es tha. combining diversity techniques in the system’s receivers ma.kedly improve the performa.ce of CDMa.systems.

Norma. huma. kera.inocytes (NHK) a.rested in G1 by suspension were hypermethyla.ed rela.ive to RG cultures. Four RG cultures of epidermoid ca.cinoma.cells (ECC) were hypomethyla.ed rela.ive to RG NHK cultures, a.d two cultures (SCC25 a.d a.31) were further hypomethyla.ed by SUS-induced a.rest. Linea. regression a.a.yses esta.lished a.positive linea. correla.ion between growth ra.e a.d 5-MC content for three murine fibrobla.ts lines, a.d a.nega.ive correla.ion for both NHK a.d ECC lines.

This fa.ilita.es the modeling of complex ma.eria. beha.ior a.d fra.ture which is not dependent on the numerica. discretiza.ion length sca.e. In this pa.er, we develop a.Peridyna.ic formula.ion for a.Timoshenko bea.. Full deta.ls a.d numerica. exa.ples a.e presented for both bending a.d a.ia. beha.ior. Introduction: Congenita. a.d a.quired penile curva.ure ha. a.nega.ive impa.t on penile a.sthetics, sexua. ca.a.ilities, a.d ma.e psychology. Surgica. procedures yield sa.isfa.tory correction of curva.ure, but a.e usua.ly a.socia.ed with penile shortening a.d pa.pa.le suture ma.eria. a.d nodules under the skin, resulting in pa.ient dissa.isfa.tion. a.ms: To present a.novel technique using a.subcuta.eous soft silicone impla.t for surgica. trea.ment of penile soft tissue deformities with curva.ure, with prevention of surgery-a.socia.ed penile shortening a.d subcuta.eous “bumps”, a.d with a.ditiona. ga.ns in overa.l penile length a.d girth. Method: 3 pa.ients who compla.ned a.out congenita., post-tra.ma.ic, a.d post-penile surgery a.socia.ed penile curva.ure, with concerns a.out their penile a.sthetics a.d a.socia.ed nega.ive psychosocia. effects, were trea.ed with the insertion of a.subcuta.eous soft silicone penile impla.t. Results: During a.follow up period of 2 - 12 months (mea.: 6.7 ± 3.6 months) a.l three pa.ients expressed obj.ctive a.d subj.ctive sa.isfa.tion rega.ding the corrective results of the surgery. Penile length a.d girth mea.urements during follow-up showed a.mea. increa.e in length of 4.3 cm (±1.4 cm) a.d a.mea. increa.e in girth of 3.0 cm (±1.0 cm). Conclusion: The insertion of the subcuta.eous soft silicone impla.t in a.dition to corporea. fibrotic tissue remova. in pa.ients with congenita. or a.quired penile curva.ure is a. effective option tha. provides the pa.ient with a.sthetic improvements by correcting penile devia.ion, preventing post-surgica. subcuta.eous nodule forma.ion tha. results from the technique a.d suture ma.eria. used, a.d a.ding penile length a.d girth. Further prospective studies a.e required to va.ida.e our initia. experience.

Ba.kground: Photothera.y of photoa.ed skin ha. been a.tempted by la.ers or intense pulsed light a. the visible or nea.-infra.ed pa.t of the spectrum. The use of red Light-Emitting Diodes (LED) delivering a.low dose energy to the skin ha. been described for office a.d home use. Methods: In the present study, a.porta.le home-use device is presented tha. combines fra.tiona. non-therma. red LED with mild conta.t hea.ing. Forty subj.cts a.ed 30 - 55 presenting with fa.ia. la. skin, la.ge pores, fine lines, wrinkles a.d brown pigmenta.ion received 8 bi-weekly trea.ments for 4 weeks, using the Silk’n Rej./Fa.eFX device (Home Skinova.ions, Yoknea., Isra.l). Skin condition wa. eva.ua.ed before a.d 1, 2, a.d 3 months following the la.t trea.ment session. Gra.ing of outcome wa. done a.cording to a. independent blinded eva.ua.or a.d pa.ient sa.isfa.tion. Results: Fa.ia. skin improvement of wrinkling a.d skin texture were a.pa.ent immedia.ely a.d scored clinica.ly a.ter 3 months a. excellent a.d considera.le by >90% of pa.ients. Pigmenta.ion improvement wa. less a.pa.ent. Overa.l fa.ia. skin improvement wa. noted by 77% of pa.ients. Conclusions: The combina.ion of fra.tiona. red LED a.d mild conta.t hea.ing, using a. a. home porta.le device, proved to be sa.e a.d effective method to improve the qua.ity of photoa.ed skin.
