Banana bunchy top virus(BBTV)poses a serious danger to banana crops ***-encoded protein B4 is a determinant of ***,the relevant molecular mechanisms underlying its effects remain *** this study,we found that a functional peptide could be liberated from protein B4,likely via proteolytic ***-directed mutagenesis indicated that the functional processing of protein B4 is required for its pathogenic effects,including dwarfism and sterility,in *** released protein fragment targets host proteins,such as the large subunit of RuBisCO(RbcL)and elongation factor 2(EF2),involved in protein ***,the peptide released from B4(also a precursor)may act as a non-canonical modifier to influence host-pathogen interactions involving BBTV and plants.

NASA地壳动力学计划把甚长甚线干涉仪(VLBI)系统和卫星激光测距(SLR)系统应用于地球动力学测量。在VLBI中,两台或两台以上的射电天线接收并相关地记录来自遥远类星体的射电噪声信号。这些互相关记录信号可确定测站之间相对的信号延迟以推出测站间基线向量。SLR系统利用短激光脉冲的时间函数精确地确定至角反射器卫星的距离。把来自数测站对同一颗卫星的距离测量应用在轨道分析程序中,可确定测站位置和测站之间的基线向量。利用这些系统的测量,在几千公里距离上已获得了长度为几厘米的精度。

Metastatic breast cancer leads to poor prognoses and worse outcomes in patients due to its invasive behavior and poor response to *** is still unclear what biophysical and biochemical factors drive this more aggressive phenotype in metastatic cancer;however recent studies have suggested that exposure to fluid shear stress in the vasculature could cause *** this study a modular microfluidic platform capable of mimicking the magnitude of fluid shear stress(FSS)found in human vasculature was designed and *** device provides a platform to evaluate the effects of FSS on MCF-7 cell line,an estrogen receptor positive(ER+)breast cancer cell line,during circulation in the *** of the effects of FSS on MCF-7 cells was carried out utilizing two approaches:single cell analysis and bulk *** single cell analysis,cells were trapped in a microarray after exiting the serpentine channel and followed by immunostaining on the device(on-chip).Bulk analysis was performed after cells were collected in a microtube at the outlet of the microfluidic serpentine channel for western blotting(off-chip).It was found that cells exposed to an FSS magnitude of 10 dyn/cm^(2) with a residence time of 60 s enhanced expression of the proliferation marker Ki67 in the MCF-7 cell line at a single cell *** understand possible mechanisms for enhanced Ki67 expression,on-chip and off-chip analyses were performed for pro-growth and survival pathways ERK,AKT,and jAK/*** demonstrated that after shearing the cells phosphorylation of p-AKT,p-mTOR,and p-STAT3 were ***,there was no change in p-ERK1/*** is a mediator of ER rapid signaling,analysis of phosphorylated ERαwas carried out and no significant differences between sheared and non-sheared populations were *** together these results demonstrate that FSS can increase phosphorylation of proteins associated with a more aggressive phenotype in circulating cancer *** findin

We consider a power system whose electric demand pertaining to freshwater production is high(high freshwater electric demand),as in the Middle East,and investigate the tradeoff of storing freshwater in tanks versus storing electricity in batteries at the day-ahead operation *** storing freshwater and storing electricity increase the actual electric demand at valley hours and decrease it at peak hours,which is generally beneficial in term of cost and ***,to what extent?We analyze this question considering three power systems with different generation-mix configurations,i.e.,a thermal-dominated mix,a renewable-dominated one,and a fully renewable *** generation-mix configurations are inspired by how power systems may evolve in different countries in the Middle *** production uncertainty is compactly modeled using chance *** draw conclusions on how both storage facilities(freshwater and electricity)complement each other to render an optimal operation of the power system.

A recent study by Adams and colleagues published in Nature unveiled more than one hundred genes that are involved in micronucleus formation,1 which is a biomarker for genomic instability and associated with aging,cancer,and other disorders.2 As an outstanding achievement,the authors identified DSCC1(DNA Replication And Sister Chromatid Cohesion 1)as a critical gene protecting against early developmental defects,genomic instability,reduced proliferative capacity,cohesinopathy-related phenotypes,and tumor development in vivo.
