The conventional perception of astrocytes as mere supportive cells within the brain has recently been called into question by empirical evidence, which has revealed their active involvement in regulating brain function and encoding behaviors associated with ***, astrocytes in the basolateral amygdala have been found to play a role in the modulation of anxiety-like behaviors triggered by chronic stress. nevertheless, the precise molecular mechanisms by which basolateral amygdala astrocytes regulate chronic stress–induced anxiety-like behaviors remain to be fully elucidated. In this study, we found that in a mouse model of anxiety triggered by unpredictable chronic mild stress, the expression of excitatory amino acid transporter 2 was upregulated in the basolateral amygdala. Interestingly, our findings indicate that the targeted knockdown of excitatory amino acid transporter 2 specifically within the basolateral amygdala astrocytes was able to rescue the anxiety-like behavior in mice subjected to stress. Furthermore, we found that the overexpression of excitatory amino acid transporter 2 in the basolateral amygdala, whether achieved through intracranial administration of excitatory amino acid transporter 2agonists or through injection of excitatory amino acid transporter 2-overexpressing viruses with GfaABC1D promoters, evoked anxiety-like behavior in mice. Our single-nucleus RnA sequencing analysis further confirmed that chronic stress induced an upregulation of excitatory amino acid transporter 2 specifically in astrocytes in the basolateral amygdala. Moreover, through in vivo calcium signal recordings, we found that the frequency of calcium activity in the basolateral amygdala of mice subjected to chronic stress was higher compared with normal *** knocking down the expression of excitatory amino acid transporter 2 in the basolateral amygdala, the frequency of calcium activity was not significantly increased, and anxiety-like behavior was ob

Backfill is often employed in mining operations for ground support,with its positive impact on ground stability acknowledged in many underground ***,existing studies have predominantly focused only on the stress development within the backfill material,leaving the influence of stope backfilling on stress distribution in surrounding rock mass and ground stability largely ***,this paper presents numerical models in FLAC3D to investigate,for the first time,the time-dependent stress redistribution around a vertical backfilled stope and its implications on ground stability,considering the creep of surrounding rock *** the Soft Soil constitutive model,the compressibility of backfill under large pressure was *** is found that the creep deformation of rock mass exercises compression on backfill and results in a less void ratio and increased modulus for fill *** compacted backfill conversely influenced the stress distribution and ground stability of rock mass which was a combined effect of wall creep and compressibility of *** the increase of time or/and creep deformation,the minimum principal stress in the rocks surrounding the backfilled stope increased towards the pre-mining stress state,while the deviatoric stress reduces leading to an increased factor of safety and improved ground *** improvement effect of backfill on ground stability increased with the increase of mine depth and stope height,while it is also more pronounced for the narrow stope,the backfill with a smaller compression index,and the soft rocks with a smaller viscosity ***,the results emphasize the importance of minimizing empty time and backfilling extracted stope as soon as possible for ground *** of filling gap height enhances the local stability around the roof of stope.

We mathematically derived a sensitivity-based method that identifies the thermal transport physics and parameters suitable for multivariate nonlinear fits in a frequency-domain thermoreflectance (FDTR) experiment. Modern electronic devices often consist of heterogeneous nanolayers with multiple unknown thermal transport properties. However, simultaneous fitting in a single experiment for these unknown parameters will produce unreliable results if they are correlated. Current methods to identify such correlations are unreliable. This unreliability has impeded the accuracy and speed of characterizing the unknown thermal properties of such multilayer stacks. Our proposed logarithmic sensitivity ratio (LSR) analysis can evaluate the feasibility of fitting a pair of unknown parameters and clarify the governing thermal transport physics. The effectiveness and convenience of this analysis were studied using Monte Carlo simulations and actual FDTR experiments for fitting up to three unknown parameters. The principle behind this method can be extended to other techniques where multivariate fits are needed. © 2023

Identifying tree locations is a basic step in the derivation of other tree parameters using remote sensing techniques, particularly when using airborne laser scanning. There are several techniques for identifying tree positions. In this paper, we present a raster-based method for determining tree position and delineating crown coverage. We collected data from nine research plots that supported different mixes of species. We applied a raster-based method to raster layers with six different spatial resolutions and used terrestrial measurement data as reference data. Tree identification at a spatial resolution of 1.5 m was demonstrated to be the most accurate, with an average identification ratio (IR) of 95% and average detection ratio of 68% being observed. At a higher spatial resolution of 0.5 m, IR was overestimated by more than 600%. At a lower spatial resolution of 3 m, IR was underestimated at less than 44% of terrestrial measurements. The inventory process was timed to enable evaluation of the time efficiency of automatic methods.

Two-dimensional transition metal trithiophosphates(TMPS_(3),TM=Mn,Fe,Co,etc.)are competitive anode materials for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)due to their high theoretical capacity(>1,300 mAh g^(−1))but suffer from limited practical capacity(~300 mAh g^(−1))and inferior rate capability caused by sluggish na+intercalation/deintercalation kinetics and severe structural ***,alkylamine molecules are first proposed as intercalation guests to significantly boost the electrochemical activity and stability of MnPS_(3).Compared to MnPS_(3),C3H9n-MnPS_(3) enlarges the interlayer spacing from 6.48 to 10.23Åand shows a 105 times higher electrical conductivity,which provides fast ion/electron transport and high strain adaptability,realizing a quasi-topological na+intercalation ***,C3H9n-MnPS_(3) exhibits an ultrahigh reversible capacity of 775 mAh g^(−1) at 0.5 A g^(−1) and superior high-rate cycling stability with~100%capacity retention after 2,500 cycles at 15 A g^(−1),ranking it among the top metal trithiophosphate-based anode materials *** calculations indicate that the improved sodium storage performance of C3H9n-MnPS_(3) results from the reduced bonding energy of P–S bonds and increased adsorption energy of na^(+).This work is expected to provide an efficient strategy for the design of high-performance layered anode materials for SIBs.
