This study.presents an analy.is of magnetic susceptibility.and natural gamma radioactivity.as indirect indicators of impurities in Cretaceous limestones of the Sabinas basin, as well as of the possible relation of these phy.ical properties with the changes in the sedimentation environment. Both of these phy.ical properties indicate changes in the degree of impurities and the mineralogical composition of this rock, principally.in its organic matter and detritus content. Considering that the sedimentation environment determines the impurities in these rocks, possible environmental conditions at different levels of the Cretaceous were suggested using the magnetic susceptibility. total gamma radiation and potassium values, as well as the uranium and thorium concentration in the limestones. The analy.es suggest variations in the depth of water table of the basin, which are mainly.related to transgressions and marine regressions.

Habitat alterations in agroecosy.tems may.damage amphibian immune capacity. As agroecosy.tem extension is increasing worldwide, broader-context knowledge on the effects of agroecosy.tem stressful conditions on amphibian immune capacity.is crucial for understanding and management of amphibian global declines. However, most studies on ecoimmunology.assume sy.chronal amonggroup immune-response peaks, and focus on immune response after standardized time lapses, neglecting its progress!on. Herein, I compared inflamatory.response short-term progression of agro ecosy.tem and n atural-habitat female and male n atterjack toads Epi da lea calamita, by.measuri ng swelling response, once per hour, 6 h following an artificial immune challenge with innocuous antigen phy.ohemagglutinin. I also compared maximum magnitude of swelling response, irrespective of the moment when it was reached. Habitat differences arose only.3 h after challenge, when naturalhabitat toads showed greater swelling response. Maximum magnitude of swelling response was similar in toads from both habitats. However, agroecosy.tem toads showed a delay.d swelling response as compared with natural-habitat conspecifics, probably.as a consequenee of agroecosy.tem stressful conditions. Such a delay.suggests a weaker immune capacity. and consequently.impaired anti-pathogen performance. Regarding sex, swelling response magnitude did not differ between males and females. Female swelling response peaked earlier, but that of males was more sustai ned in time, which con tradicts general across-taxa fin dings that males show impaired immune response. Interestingly. results suggest that measuring swelling response only.after some standardized period following stimulation may.be a simplistic approach and produce unrealistic results. Consequently. studies on ecoimmunology.should implement swelling response progression in order to produce unbiased science.

Herein,the sy.thesis and characterization methods of natural deep eutectic solvents based on monoterpenoids have been presented.Low viscous fluids with suitable phy.icochemical properties are produced.The materials are non-toxic,biodegradable,and cost-effective.Thus,they.can be used to develop sustainable solvents for various processes and can find their applications in various fields.A theoretical study.based on quantum chemistry.and classical molecular dy.amics is used for the nanoscopic characterization of structure,dy.amics,and hy.rogen bonding.The reported results help analy.e the properties of this new family.of solvents.The required information for developing structure–property.relationships for proper solvent design to form a sustainable chemistry.framework is obtained.

As part of efforts to restore fishery.resources and recover damaged coastal ecosy.tems,artificial reefs are often anchored on the seafloor in coastal zones,to provide new habitats for marine organisms.The aim of the study.was to describe the structure of a community.of benthic invertebrates colonising a niche-ty.e artificial reef(AATn in Spanish).nine structures were anchored at depths of 16±1.5 m for 99 weeks(22 months)in the Area of Benthic Resource Management and Exploitation(AMERB)in coastal waters of the Region of Bio Bio,Chile.The results showed that,at 3 months from submersion of the nTAR,much of the artificial substrate remained bare and there were only.low levels of specimens of Balanus sp.barnacles,showing mean coverage of 11.26%,and even lower proportions of Rhodophy.a,with mean coverage of 0.34%.At 6 months,the presence of hy.rozoans was seen,decreasing the coverage of the barnacles,which was aided further at 8 months with the arrival of barnacle predatory.invertebrates.At 8 months,new benthic invertebrates appeared and competed for the substrate.These included sponges and algae.At 99 weeks,the hy.rozoans dominated the substrate,followed by.barnacles and Rhodophy.a,the first colonising organisms,leading to colonisation by.motile macro-invertebrates,mainly.consisting of crustaceans,echinoderms and molluscs.The AATn artificial sy.tem provides an ideal substrate for the development of early.ecological succession and the use of this technology.should be feasible in the recovery.process of habitat damaged by.anthropogenic actions and climate change.

Studies on the impacts of variation of biotic interactions at key.life cy.le stages are crucial to understand the interface between ecological and developmental processes.Predators exert a major impact on prey.fitness.Although direct consumption entails the greatest effect,predators can affect prey.by.means of other mechanisms.For instance,injuries inflicted by.failed predation attempts can jeopardize prey.fitness,even bey.nd the short-term.In anuran tadpoles,failed predation ty.ically.results in partial tail loss,which is known to reduce swimming speed.However,the potential consequences of tadpole partial tail loss after metamorphosis remain understudied.Because tail materials could be important in conforming metamorph body.we assess the effects of tadpole partial tail loss on metamorph body.size in Iberian spadefoot toads Pelobates cultripes.We clipped 55%tail length of pre-tail-resorption stage anesthetized tadpoles,and compared their body.size as metamorphs with anesthetized and non-anesthetized non-tail-clipped controls.Also,we tested whether tail length correlated with metamorph body.size of individuals of the control groups.Tailclipped tadpoles produced smaller metamorphs than both controls(the bdy.size of metamorphs from both controls was similar),which could incur costs in mid-term survival or time to first reproduction.This effect could be particularly.important in areas with introduced predators,if autochthonous tadpoles lack defenses against them.Results suggest that materials resorbed from tadpole tail tissues might be reallocated into metamorph body.according to the negative effect of shorter tails in a correlational analy.is,and clipped tails in an experimental test,on metamorph body.size.

The society.in the digital transformation era demands new decision schemes such as e-democracy.or based on social media.Such novel decision schemes require the participation of many.experts/decision makers/stakeholders in the decision processes.As a result,large-scale group decision making(LSGDM)has attracted the attention of many.researchers in the last decade and many.studies have been conducted in order to face the challenges associated with the topic.Therefore,this paper aims at reviewing the most relevant studies about LSGDM,identify.ng the most profitable research trends and analy.ing them from a critical point of view.To do so,the Web of Science database has been consulted by.using different searches.From these results a total of 241 contributions were found and a selection process regarding language,ty.e of contribution and actual relation with the studied topic was then carried out.The 87 contributions finally.selected for this review have been analy.ed from four points of view that have been highly.remarked in the topic,such as the preference structure in which decision-makers’opinions are modeled,the group decision rules used to define the decision making process,the techniques applied to verify.the quality.of these models and their applications to real world problems solving.Afterwards,a critical analy.is of the main limitations of the existing proposals is developed.Finally.taking into account these limitations,new research lines for LSGDM are proposed and the main challenges are stressed out.

Objectives： This study.aimed to evaluate the in vitro antioxidant capacity. to determine the anti-inflammatory.effect due to lipoxy.enase inhibition and to test the antimicrobial activity.of ethanolic extracts from leaves of seven climbing species belonging to the Bignoniaceae family. These species are Adenocaly.nrna rnarginatum （Cham.） DC., Amphilophium vauthieri DC., Cuspidaria convoluta （VEIL） A. H. Gentry. Dolichandra dentata （K. Schum.） L. G. Lohmann, Fridericia caudigera （S. Moore） L. G. Lohmann, Fridericia chica （Bonpl.） L. G. Lohmann and Tanaecium selloi （Spreng.） L. G. Lohmann. Methods： The antioxidant activity.was evaluated using three methods, 2,2＇-azino-bis（3-ethy.benzothiazo line-6-sulfonic acid）（ABTS）, 2,2-dipheny.-l-picry.hy.razy. （DPPH）, and ferric reducing antioxidant power. Lipoxy.enase-inhibiting activity.was assay.d spectrophotometrically. the result was expressed as percent inhibition. The antimicrobial activity.was assessed using the agar disk diffusion method. Minimal inhibitory.concentration （MIC） and minimal bactericidal]fungicidal concentration were also determined for each extract against 12 pathogenic bacterial strains of Staphy.ococcus aureus and seven fungal strains of the Candida genus. The identification of the major compounds present in the most promising extract was established by.high-performance liquid chromatography.tandem mass spectrometry. Results： C convoluta, F. caudigera, and F. chica exhibited the best antioxidant activity.by.scavenging DPPH and ABTS~ radicals and reducing Fe3＋ ion. These extracts showed a notable inhibition of lipnxy.enase. F. caudigera was found to have the lower MIC value against S. aureus strains and six Candida species. The extracts of F. caudigera and C. convoluta were active even against methicillin-resistant S. aureus. C convoluta had higher total phenol content, better antioxidant activity.and superior anti- inflammatory.and antimicrobial activity. 为验证降低日粮蛋白质水平并补充晶体氨基酸是否可以提高氨基酸用于泌乳母猪产奶的使用效率,试验选用3种日粮,蛋白质含量分别为9.5%(不足型)、13.5%(理想型)和17.5%(标准型)饲喂泌乳母猪,各日粮氨基酸水平相同。检测乳腺氨基酸动静脉浓度差(A-V)、氨基酸运输效率(A-V/A×100)、氨基酸转运载体和乳蛋白基因的转录丰度。在第7和18天,收集采食后动脉、乳腺静脉血液和乳腺组织样品。使用定量PCR测定氨基酸转运载体b0,+AT(SLC7A9)、y.LAT2(SLC7A6)、ATB0,+(SLC6A14)、CAT-1(SLC7A1)、CAT-2b(SLC7A2)以及β酪蛋白(CSn2)和α乳清蛋白(LALBA)的转录丰度。结果表明,随着蛋白质含量从不足型到标准型逐渐增加,仔猪日增重呈曲线上升(线性和二次方,Py.)比值呈二次方降低(Pn2和LALBA的基因表达不受日粮影响。总之,日粮蛋白质含量从17.5%下降到13.5%,并补充晶体氨基酸并不影响仔猪日增重,氨基酸转运载体或乳蛋白基因的表达,但可以增加泌乳第7天乳腺运输效率和赖氨酸与精氨酸动静脉浓度差。这种增加与血液BCAA∶Ly.比值下降有关,表明氨基酸运输至乳腺细胞时,阳离子型AA和BCAA之间存在竞争机制。

The Guole biota contains common shelly.fossils and some exceptionally.well-preserved softbodied fossils. Stratigraphically. it is located in the mudstones and siltstones of the Sandu Formation near Guole Town, Jingxi County. Guangxi, South China. It is the first Furongian （late Cambrian） Burgess Shale-ty.e biota found in the world, thereby.filling the gap between middle Cambrian and Lower Ordovician Burgess Shale-ty.e Lagerstaitten. Preliminary.studies suggest that the Guole biota includes approximately.seven metazoan groups as well as algae. These will provide important new evolutionary.and ecological information.

Mountains imply.enormous environmental variation, with alpine habitats entailing harsh environments, especially.for ectotherms such as lizards. This environmental variability.also may.imply.variation in prey.availability. However, little is known about how lizard trophic ecology.varies with elevation. In this study. we analy.e diet, prey.availability. prey.selection, and trophic niche width in the lacertid lizard along a 2,200-m elevational gradient in the Sierra nevada (SE Spain). The analy.is of fecal samples has shown that Orthoptera, Formicidae, Hemiptera, Coleoptera, and Araneae are the main prey. although, according to their abundance in pitfall traps, Formicidae and Coleoptera are rejected by.the lizard whereas Orthoptera, Hemiptera, and Araneae are preferred. Prey.abundance and diversity.increase with elevation and diet subtly.varies along with the elevational gradient. The consumption of Coleoptera increases with elevation probably.as a consequence of the lizard foraging more in open areas while basking. The electivity.for Araneae increases with elevation. Araneae are rejected in the lowlands-where they.are relatively.abundant-whereas, at high elevation, this lizard positively.selects them, despite they.being less abundant. The lizard trophic niche width expands with elevation due to concomitant greater prey.diversity.and hence this lizard feeds on more prey.ty.es in highlands. Although no sex difference in diet has been found, the trophic niche is broader in females than males. As a whole, alpine lizards show a trophic niche similar to that found at lower elevations, suggesting that is well adapted to the harsh environment found in alpine areas.
