Cell adhesion plays pivotal roles in the morphogenesis of multicellular *** cells form several types of cell-to-cell adhesion,including zonula occludens(tight junctions),zonula adhaerens(adherens junctions),and macula adhaerens(desmosomes).Although these adhesion complexes are basically observed only in epithelial cells,cadherins,which are the major cell adhesion molecules of adherens junctions,are expressed in both epithelial and non-epithelial tissues,including neural tissues(kawauchi,2012).The cadherin superfamily consists of more than 100 members,but classic cadherins.

Background: For nursing students, gathering social information is essential for understanding healthcare and social issues and developing critical thinking and decision-making skills. However, the choice of information sources varies by age and individual habits. With the widespread use of the internet, there are notable differences between younger and older generations in their reliance on the internet versus traditional media sources like newspapers and television. Given the wide age range and diverse backgrounds of nursing students, understanding generational differences in information-gathering methods is important for implementing effective education. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify how nursing students in different age groups obtain social information and to examine media usage trends by age group. Additionally, we aim to use the findings to provide insights into effective information dissemination methods in nursing education. Results: The results showed that nursing students in their teens to forties, regardless of gender, primarily relied on the internet as their main information source, with television playing a secondary role. In contrast, students in their fifties tended to obtain information more often from newspapers and television than from the internet. This highlights an age-related difference in preferred information sources, with older students showing a greater reliance on traditional media. Conclusions: This study demonstrates that nursing students use different information-gathering methods based on their age, suggesting a need to custo-mize information dissemination strategies in nursing education. Digital media may be more effective for younger students, while traditional media or printed materials might better serve older students. Educational institutions should consider these generational differences in media usage and adopt strategies that meet the diverse needs of their student populations.

Evaluating Changes in Disaster Preparedness Awareness among Nursing Students in Japan: Insights after Three Years of Nursing Education

Background: Disaster preparedness is a critical aspect of nursing education, enhancing students’ ability to respond effectively in emergencies. However, the extent to which nursing curricula influence disaster preparedness awareness remains underexplored. Our study found that 39% of students reported improved awareness after three years, highlighting the need for targeted curriculum enhancements. Purpose: To evaluate changes in disaster preparedness awareness among nursing students over three years of education and identify gaps in current curricula impacting this awareness. Results: Findings indicate that while 39% of students showed improved awareness, significant gaps remain, suggesting the need for a dedicated course on emergency preparedness. Conclusions: This study emphasizes the importance of integrating comprehensive disaster preparedness education within nursing curricula to address these gaps and foster resilience in future healthcare professionals.

Thermal comfort and indoor air quality as well as the energy efficiency have been recognized as essential parts of sustainable building assessment. This work aims to analyze the energy conservation of the heat recovery ventilator and to investigate the effect of the air supply arrangement. Three types of mixing ventilation are chosen for the analysis of coupling ANSYS/FLUENT （a computational fluid dynamics （CFD） program） with TRNSYS （a building energy simulation （BES） software）. The adoption of mutual complementary boundary conditions for CFD and BES provides more accurate and complete information of indoor air distribution and thermal performance in buildings. A typical office-space situated in a middle storey is chosen for the analysis. The office-space is equipped with air-conditioners on the ceiling. A heat recovery ventilation system directly supplies flesh air to the office space. Its thermal performance and indoor air distribution predicted by the coupled method are compared under three types of ventilation system. When the supply and return openings for ventilation are arranged on the ceiling, there is no critical difference between the predictions of the coupled method and BES on the energy consumption of HVAC because PID control is adopted for the supply air temperature of the occupied zone. On the other hand, approximately 21% discrepancy for the heat recovery estimation in the maximum between the simulated results of coupled method and BES-only can be obviously found in the floor air supply ventilation case. The discrepancy emphasizes the necessity of coupling CFD with BES when vertical air temperature gradient exists. Our future target is to estimate the optimum design of heat recovery ventilation system to control CO2 concentration by adjusting flow rate of flesh air.

Fitting parametric models to globular clusters’structural profiles has been essential for the study of stellar *** provides their important structural parameters,such as the concentrations and core radii of the ***,existing parametric models can apply only to non-collapsing-core clusters in the early relaxation-evolution ***,a single parametric model cannot provide globular clusters’structural parameters in both the early and late evolution *** have recently found an accurate spectral solution for the self-similar orbit-averaged Fokker-Planck(OAFP)equation to model collapsingcore clusters at the late evolution *** present work establishes a new parametric model by combining the self-similar OAFP-and *** it is a single-mass and isotropic model,the new model applies to at least fifty-five Galactic globular clusters with resolved cores in all the evolution *** a main result,we show the characteristics of the relaxation times against the concentrations of the *** also affirm that the structures of low-concentration clusters are polytropic in the Milky Way.

A broadband frequency tunable microwave reflectometer system, which has the abil- ity of fast and stable frequency sweeping operation, is applied in the large helical device （LHD） to measure the boundary of the high-temperature plasma. When the microwave is launched, with extraordinary polarization, from the low field side of the magnetic field with its frequency swept from low to high, the microwave of minimum right-hand cut-off frequency is reflected most out- side. We can then estimate the plasma boundary position by measuring the change of the reflected power from the cut-off layer.

Aim:To investigate the biological activity of human lens epithelial cells (HLEC)in producing inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and nitric oxide (NO),and toassesse the effect of diethyldithiocarbamate (DDC) on iNOS mRNA levels andexpression of ***:The human lens epithelial cell line SRA 01/04 wasused in this ***-quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chainreaction (RT-PCR) and Western blotting were used to detect,respectively,iNOSmRNA expression and protein ***:A costimulation by inter-feron gamma (IFN-γ) and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) was necessary for iNOS ex-pression in *** expression of iNOS was significantly reduced in a dose-dependent manner by adding DDC from 10 μmol/L to 1 mmol/***:The expression of iNOS in HLEC needs co-stimulation with IFN-γ and LPS and itis inhibited by DDC.

Coordination-insertion copolymerization of non-polar ole- fins and polar monomers by late transition metal catalysts is a powerful method to synthesize functionalized polyolefins [1]. Nano-sheet carbon films are prepared on Si wafers by means of quartz-tube microwave plasma chemical vapour deposition （MPCVD） in a gas mixture of hydrogen and methane. The structure of the fabricated films is investigated by using field emission scanning electron microscope （FESEM） and Raman spectroscopy. These nano^carbon films are possessed of good field emission （FE） characteristics with a low threshold field of 2.6 V/μm and a high current density of 12.6 mA/cm^2 at an electric field of 9 V/μm. As the FE currents tend to be saturated in a high E region, no simple Fowler-Nordheim （F-N） model is applicable. A modified F N model considering statistic effects of FE tip structures and a space-charge-limited-current （SCLC） effect is applied successfully to explaining the FE data observed at low and high electric fields, respectively.
