The expression of glucose regulated protein 94 (GRP94)during the treatment of human colorectal carcinoma cell lineClone A cells with sodium butyrate was studied. Sodium butyrate (SB) can cause functional and morphological effects on Clone A cells including growth arrest at Go/G1 stage and cell differentiation as observed by morphological changes, MTT and flow cytometry assays, as well as reduced Grp94 gene expression as shown by Northern blot and Western blot assays. The possible mechanism of the correlation between Grp94 gene expression and tumor growth inhibition and cell differentiation is briefly discussed.

BACKGROUND: Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) can directly regulate toxic injury of hippocampal neurons through participation by its receptor. Increase of excitability of hippocampal membrane and long-term synaptic elasticity are closely related to PGE2, PGD2 and PGF2A. This suggests that PGE2 may be a key molecule of neuronal signal passage and regulate the existence of neurons through its receptor. However, which isoforms of PGE2 receptor expressing in hippocampal neurons is still unclear. OBJECTIVE: To research the subtype expression of PGE2 receptor in hippocampus of rats through mRNA transcription and protein interpretation. DESIGN: Animal studies with random, control and operator and designer double-blind methods. SETTING: university of South Carolina, Animal Center. MATERIALS: Sprague-Dawley rats, aged 12 weeks, weighing 200 g, females 48 and males 48, were selected from Animal Center in South Carolina university. Tri ReagentTM kit was provided by Molecular Research Center, USA. METHODS: The experiment was carried out in Animal Center in South Carolina university from January to December 2005. The expression of the PGE2 receptors was profiled and compared in rat hippocampus using real-time RT-PCR and Western-blot techniques. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Expression of PGE2 receptors in various isoforms of hippocampal neurons of rats. RESULTS: mRNAs of all four EP1-4 subtypes were detected in the hippocampus. Western-blot data showed consistently detectable bands at approximately Mr 50 000 of EP1, Mr 40 000 and Mr 52 000 of EP2, Mr 45 000, Mr 57 000 and Mr 105 000 of EP3, and Mr 46 000 of EP4. CONCLUSION: Identifying four subtypes of EPs heterogeneously expresses in the hippocampus.

With considering lightening and safety of strength,integrations of both distribution’s density and function’s density,the normal fussy reliability formulas about vehicle parts that forces,strengths are gamma distribution and subordinate is parabola of exponential k was gotten;first integral change was achieved according to initial data and function imported and extent of integrated,second this number result with VB program in the computer was achieved by using middle-points integral calculus and romberg integration. This program can be used in design of vehicle parts for rising up level of design.

目的　探讨影响人胃癌细胞在腹膜粘附的因素，为临床上采取有效措施，减少腹膜转移的发生提供依据。方法　用人胃癌细胞株在小鼠腹膜上培养，以ＭＴＴ法检测粘附细胞数的体外实验模型，观察腹膜损伤、血液成分和癌胚抗原（ＣＥＡ）对胃癌细胞在腹膜粘附的影响。结果　腹膜损伤组的粘附细胞数（ＡＤ）较对照组明显增高（Ｐ＜０－０１）。血液中的白细胞、血小板组ＡＤ值较对照组明显增高（Ｐ＜０－０１），血浆组ＡＤ值亦较对照组增高（Ｐ＜０－０５）。ＣＥＡ组ＡＤ值明显高于对照组（Ｐ＜０－０５）。结论　腹膜损伤、血液成分中的白细胞、血小板、血浆以及ＣＥＡ，均可增加癌细胞在腹膜的粘附。减少腹膜损伤，减少血液中的粘附因子及ＣＥＡ在腹腔滞留机会。

Nonholonomic mapping theory of autoparallel motions in Riemann-Cartan space

Aim:Calmodulin(CaM) serving as a Ca sensor is an important regulator of ion *** is composed of two lobes,each comprising two Ca binding *** previous study has shown that Ca-free CaM(apoCaM) could produce both facilitatory and inhibitory effects on Ca channel *** this study,we further explored that effects with the CaM *** has also been suggested to regulate Na channel.A slowly persistent Na current(I) h been found in ***,the detailed mechanism of how CaM modulates I has not yet ***:CaM and its mutants were purified using glutathione-Sepharose 4B beads. The point mutations of CaM in the Ca binding sites(E31A+ E67A+ S101F+ E140A) were produced by the site-directed *** myocytes were isolated from guinea-pig *** neuronal cells were taken from 1-day-old rats and were primarily cultured. Single-channel currents of voltage-gated cardiac Ca channels and neuronal Na channels were recorded with patch clamp ***:*** Concentration-response curves of CaM, CaM and CaM(0.7-10μM) on Cachannel activities were bell-shaped,similar to that for wild-type *** was no obvious leftward shift of the curves by increasing[Ca]. However,channel activities induced by the CaM mutants showed Ca-dependent decrease, implying a Ca sensor existing besides *** neuronal cells showed "continuous tonic high frequency burst discharges" and the "wedge shaped depolarization" after Mg-free treatment,showing that Mg-free induced epileptiform *** of 0.7,1.4 and 2.1μM CaM in normal cells induced NP in a concentration-dependent manner(42±6.3%, 76.6±9.6%and 101.5±18.2%) compared with control condition,but NP in model cells was 122.6±16.5%even at 0.7μM ***:*** N- and C-lobes of CaM are required for the Ca-dependent regulations of cardiac Ca *** of CaM on Na channel activity is more sensitive in Mg-free model.

BACKGROUND: Somatostatin, a neuropeptide and hor- mone , exists in the biliary tract of several species. The effects of somatostatin and its analogues on the sphincter of Oddi motility have been controversial. The aim of this study was to observe the action of stilamin and sandostatin on the sphincter of Oddi via choledochofiberscope manometry. METHODS: Twenty patients who had had'T' duct after cholecystectomy and choledochotomy were divided into 2 groups randomly: stilamin and sandostatin. They were subjected to manometry via a choledochofiberscope through the'T' duct tract. The following data recorded in- cluded duodenal pressure (DP), sphincter of Oddi basal pressure (SOBP), sphincter of Oddi contractive amplitude (SOCA), frequency of the sphincter of Oddi (SOF), dura- tion of the sphincter of Oddi, and the common bile duct pressure (CBDP). RESULTS: After intravenous administration of stilamin at a dose of 250 μg/h, the mean SOCA increased from 89.18 (26.50) to 128.57(54.21) mmHg (P <0.05). After the ad- ministration of stilamin at a dose of 500 μg/h the mean SO- CA declined to 92.18(42.81) mmHg (P<0.05), and mean SOBP declined from 17.63(13.36) to 8.16(4.01) mmHg (P<0.05). Although SOF had declined from 9.25(2.45) to 7.46(1.52) n/min, it was not significantly influenced. After intravenous administration of sandostatin at a dose of 100 μg, the mean CBDP increased obviously. CONCLUSIONS: Intravenous administration of stilamin at a dose of 250 μg/h stimulates the motility of the sphincter of Oddi whereas the injection of stilamin at a dose of 500 μg/h inhibits its motility. Intravenous injection of sandosta- tin of 100 μg has no effect on the sphincter of Oddi.
