Geochemistry and petrogenesis of the Paleoproterozoic orthogneisses and granitoids of the Banded Gneissic Complex,central Rajasthan,NW India:Implications for crustal reworking processes

Granitoids and orthogneisses(1.7 Ga)from the northern part of the Banded Gneissic Complex(BGC-II domain),Aravalli Craton(NW India)are geochemically analyzed to understand the geodynamic condition and crustal evolution *** samples are metaluminous to peraluminous(molar A/CNK:0.74±2.12),and characterized by Eu-anomaly ranging from 0.17 to 1.06,Fe_(2)O_(3)^(T)/(Fe_(2)O_(3)^(T)+MgO)from 0.8 to 0.9 and high magmatic zircon saturation temperature(>830°C)which are the features suggestive of A-type granite *** discrimination diagrams classify the samples as post-collisional extensional A2-type *** characteristics along with trace element ratios[(Y/Nb)_(N)=0.15 to 4.33(avg.0.76),(Th/Nb)_(N)=4.63 to 255.47(avg.63.13),(Th/Ta)_(N)=1.37 to 9.84(avg.8.86),(Ce/Pb)_(N)=0.05 to 3.05(avg.1.43)]indicate that the rocks were derived from a plagioclase-rich and garnet-free crustal source under lowpressure ***,it is also proposed that tonalite-trondhjemite-granodiorite(TTG)rocks which occur dominantly in southern Rajasthan(BGC-I)are precursors and their partial melting led to the generation of the studied A-type granite *** studied samples also bear close geochemical similarity with A-type granites of similar age(1.7 Ga)near the sakhun-Ladera region of northern *** studied A-type granites are believed to be coeval to similar aged A-type granites of the Khetri and Alwar sub-basins of the North Delhi Fold Belt(NDFB).They are comparable in age and magmatic history to recorded A-type magmatism in North America and parts of the Chinese *** large geographical extents of synchronous A-type granites are proposed to be related to the Columbia supercontinent assembly(ca.1.7 Ga;postcollisional granites).Thus,based on the studied extensional granites,we surmise that BGC-II was part of the Columbia supercontinent.

Catalytic effect of srTiO_3 on the hydrogen storage behaviour of MgH_2

The effects of sr TiO_3 on the hydrogen storage properties of MgH_2 have been studied for the first *** onset dehydrogenation temperature of the MgH_2-10 wt% srTiO_3 is found to be 275 ℃, which is 55 ℃ lower as compared to the as-milled MgH_2. The composite is able to absorb 4.3 wt% of hydrogen in 60 min instead of 1.1 wt% for the as-milled Mg H_2. Meanwhile, the composite is able to release 5.3 wt% of hydrogen in 17 min compared to 1.9 wt% by the as-milled Mg H_2 at 320 ℃. The calculated Eaof the Mg H_2-10 wt% srTiO_3 is 109 k J/mol, which is 26.3 kJ/mol lower than the calculated Eaof the as-milled MgH_2. The sr TiO_3 is not decomposed during the ball milling and the re/dehydrogenation processes. The catalytic effect shown by the srTiO_3 is owing to its ability to change the physical structure of the MgH_2 particles during the ball milling process.

In this paper,we defined the fuzzy operator Φ_(λ) in a fuzzy ideal approximation space(X,R,I)associated with a fuzzy rough set λ in sostak *** with Φ_(λ),there are fuzzy ideal interior and closure operators int_(Φ)^(λ) and cl_(Φ)^(λ),respectively.r-fuzzy separation axioms,r-fuzzy connectedness and r-fuzzy compactness in fuzzy ideal approximation spaces are defined and compared with the relative notions in r-fuzzy approximation *** are many differences when studying these notions related with a fuzzy ideal different from studying these notions in usual fuzzy approximation ***,using a fuzzy grill,we will get the same results given during the context.

Geochemistry of Kestelek Colemanite Deposit, Bursa, Turkey

The Kestelek borate deposit has been the subject of geological and mineralogical research over the last decades, but major and trace element geochemistry of this deposit was first investigated in the present study. A total of 22 samples collected from surface exposures and different depths of deposit in boreholes（e.g., lower, middle and upper） comprise the material of this study. Major, trace and REE element analyses of samples were conducted with ICP-Ms and ICP-Es methods. The Kestelek borate deposit of Miocene age was formed in playa lakes in an intermountain closed basin which was developed in volcanically and seismically active areas associated with growth faults and grabens affected the whole Anatolia at the beginning of Paleogene. Only colemanite was found as the borate mineral accompanied in lesser amount by calcite, aragonite, smectite, illite, chlorite, corrensite, heulandite and quartz. In colemanite samples, all major elements, except for Ca, show depletion trends with respect to average of earth crust and andesite. For the trace elements, Li, Cs, sb, As, sr and se are characterized by significantly high concentrations. Evaluation of element concentrations and geochemical characteristics reveal that As, Cs, sb and Li are of detrital origin, se together with B and Ca are of non-detrital and sr is indicative of both detrital and non-detrital origin. REE distributions indicate that at least two different depositional regimes prevail in the environment. Corrensite, a clay mineral forming in lake waters, is derived from volcanism. Negative Ce and positive Eu anomalies are indicative of contribution from hydrothermal solutions and fluids.

Ground state energy of He isoelectronic sequence treated variationally via Hylleraas-like wavefunction

In this study, the energy for the ground state of helium and a few helium-like ions （Z=1-6） is computed variationally by using a Hylleraas-like wavefunction. A four-parameters wavefunction, satisfying boundary conditions for coalescence points, is combined with a Hylleraas-like basis set which explicitly incorporates r12 interelectronic distance. The main contribution of this work is the introduction of modified correlation terms leading to the definition of integral transforms which provide the calculation of expectation value of energy to be done analytically over single-particle coordinates instead of Hylleraas coordinates.

ANN-based empirical modelling of pile behaviour under static compressive loading

Artificial neural networks have been widely used over the past two decades to successfully develop empirical models for a variety of geotechnical problems. In this paper, an empirical model based on the product-unit neural network (PUNN) is developed to predict the load-deformation behaviour of piles based sPT values of the supporting soil. Other parameters used as inputs include particle grading, pile geometry, method of installation as well as the elastic modulus of the pile material. The model is trained using full-scale pile loading tests data retrieved from FHWA deep foundations database. From the results obtained, it is observed that the proposed model gives a better simulation of pile load-deformation curves compared to the Fleming’s hyperbolic model and t-z approach.

Estimating moment capacity of ferrocement members using self-evolving network

In this paper, an empirical model based on self-evolving neural network is proposed for predicting the flexural behavior of ferrocement elements. The model is meant to serve as a simple but reliable tool for estimating the moment capacity of ferrocement members. The proposed model is trained and validated using experimental data obtained from the literature. The data consists of information regarding flexural tests on ferrocement specimens which include moment capacity and cross-sectional dimensions of specimens, concrete cube compressive strength, tensile strength and volume fraction of wire mesh. Comparisons of predictions of the proposed models with experimental data indicated that the models are capable of accurately estimating the moment capacity of ferrocement members. The proposed models also make better predictions compared to methods such as the plastic analysis method and the mechanism approach. Further comparisons with other data mining techniques including the back-propagation network, the adaptive spline, and the Kriging regression models indicated that the proposed models are superior in terms prediction accuracy despite being much simpler models. The performance of the proposed models was also found to be comparable to the GEP-based surrogate model.

Potential energy curves for the lowest electronic states of LaB and LaB- have been calculated by ab initio *** diffusion Monte Carlo method has been employed in combination with three different trial functions. spectroscopic constants have also been numerically derived for the neutral molecule and compared with the only available theoretical work;^（[19]） however, predictions are provided for the corresponding constants for the anionic species which have not been reported yet. Our calculations suggest the high spin quintet state of LaB as the ground state with the triplet state higher in energy irrespective of the type of the functional used. This suggestion is in good accordance with the previous theoretical results calculated at B3LYP/LANL2DZ level of theory, whereas it contradicts with the prediction based upon B3LYP/sDD calculations in the same study. Moreover, variations of the permanent dipole moments as a function of the internuclear separations for the two electronic states of the neutral molecule have been studied and analyzed.

Numerical and Experimental study of the Impact of Key Parameters on a PVT Air Collector:Mass Flow Rate and Duct Depth

The PVT-air solar system simultaneously generates electrical and thermal ***,increasing the cost-effectiveness of the system requires an appropriate choice of key parameters such as mass flow rate and air channel *** this paper,a PVT-air kit of a single module with a 30°slope was used to measure photovoltaic electricity and air heating power in the city of sfax,***,a computer method was implemented using the ANsYs Fluent 17.0 software and the MATLAB program to analyse the properties of the airflow and to characterise PVT-air yields under different mass flow rates and *** the comparison of numerical and experimental data,the numerical method was validated with a good ***,we have found that increasing of the airflow rate improves the thermal efficiency with a slight change on electrical ***,the reduction in depth shows an improvement on thermal efficiency and a negligible effect on electrical ***,we have presented the thermal and electrical performance of PVT-air as a function of the key parameters with the Hottel-Whillier-Bliss formulation.

Modification of perlite using nano-magnetic iron oxide was implemented to produce nano-magneticFe3O4-coated perlite composite(Fe3O4/Perlite).The prepared composite was characterized using scanning Electron Microscopy,Fourier-Transform Infrared spectroscopy and Powder X-ray *** potentiality of both perlite and Fe3O4/Perlite composite to eliminate Cr(VI)from the environmentally relevant water was *** influence of main factors which could affect the adsorption was studied including;pH of medium,shaking time and Cr(VI)ions *** experimental outcome demonstrated that the modification of perlite by nano-magnetic Fe3O4 showed a significantly enhanced Cr(VI)removal efficiency relative to that of unmodified *** the kinetic studies,the experimental data fitted well with the pseudo-second-order ***,it proposes that Langmuir isotherm is more adequate than the Freundlich isotherm for both perlite and modified *** results recommended that Fe3O4/Perlite composite had a great potential as an economic and efficient adsorbent of Cr(VI)from contaminated water,which has huge application potential.
