Pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate reduces ischemia-reperfusion injury of the small intestine

AIM: To evaluate whether pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (PDTC), an enhancer of hO production, attenuates intestinal IR ***: Eighteen male rats were randomly allocated into three groups: (a) sham; (b) IR, consisting of 30 min of intestinal ischemia, followed by 2-h period of reperfusion; and (c) PDTC treatment before IR. Intestinal microvascular perfusion (IMP) was monitored continuously by laser Doppler fiowmetry. At the end of the reperfusion, serum samples for lactate dehydrogenase (LDh) levels and biopsies of ileum were obtained. hO activity in the ileum was assessed at the end of the reperfusion ***: At the end of the reperfusion in the IR group,IMP recovered partially to 42.5% of baseline (Pham), whereas PDTC improved IMP to 67.3% of baseline (Phere was a twofold increase in hO activity in PDTC group (2 062.66±106.11) as compared to IR (842.3±85.12) (Ph was significantly reduced (Phistological examination showed that the ileal mucosa was significantly less injured in PDTC group as compared with IR ***: Our study demonstrates that PDTC improves the IMP and attenuates IR injury of the intestine possibly via hO production. Additional studies are warranted to evaluate the clinical efficacy of PDTC in the prevention of IR injury of the small intestine.

hydroxyapatite(hA)is a bio ceramic commonly utilized in bone tissue engineering due to its bioactive and osteoconductive *** shells are usually disregarded as waste material despite their significant CaCO_(3) content,and have not been widely utilized in the synthesis of *** study aims to synthesize and analyze hA derived from crab shells using the hydrothermal method with different durations of holding *** study utilized precipitated calcium carbonate(PCC)derived from crab *** a hydrothermal reactor set at 160°C and varying holding times of 14(hA_14),16(hA_16),and 18(hA_18)h,a PCC and(Nh4)2hPO4 mixture was used to synthesize *** synthesis results were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy(SEM),fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),and X-ray diffraction(XRD)*** study has accomplished the synthesis of hA from crab ***,the final product of synthesis still contained CaCO_(3) as an *** prolonged hydrothermal holding time of 14 to 18 h resulted in a reduction of impurities while increasing the percentage of crystal weight and crystallite size of *** Ch_18 is the best-quality product generated in this *** specimen produced hA with the highest percentage of crystal weight and crystallite size compared to the other ***,specimen Ch_18 exhibited the lowest concentration of *** Ca/P ratio in this specimen was also the closest to *** Ca/P ratio,crystallite size,and crystal weight percentage of this specimen are 1.54,19.06 nm,and 99.1%,respectively.

For the first time,the Mgh_(2)–NaAlh_(4)(ratio 4:1)destabilized system with CoTiO_(3) addition has been *** CoTiO_(3)-doped Mgh_(2)–NaAlh_(4) sample begins to dehydrogenate at 130℃,which is declined by 40℃ compared to the undoped Mgh_(2)–NaAlh_(4).Moreover,the de/rehydrogenation kinetics characteristics of the CoTiO_(3)-doped Mgh_(2)–NaAlh_(4) were greatly *** the inclusion of CoTiO_(3),the Mgh_(2)–NaAlh_(4) composite absorbed 5.2 wt.%h_(2),higher than undoped Mgh_(2)–NaAlh_(4).In the context of dehydrogenation,the CoTiO_(3)-doped Mgh_(2)–NaAlh_(4) sample desorbed 2.6 wt.%h_(2),almost doubled compared to the amount of hydrogen desorbed from the undoped Mgh_(2)–NaAlh_(4) *** activation energy obtained by the Kissinger analysis for Mgh_(2) decomposition was significantly lower by 35.9 kJ/mol than the undoped Mgh_(2)–NaAlh_(4) *** reaction mechanism demonstrated that new phases of MgCo and AlTi_(3) were generated in situ during the heating process and are likely to play a substantial catalytic function and be useful in ameliorating the de/rehydrogenation properties of the destabilized Mgh_(2)–NaAlh_(4) system with the inclusion of CoTiO_(3).

研究累积叠轧焊(ARB)Al1050/AZ31/Al1050多层复合材料的腐蚀行为,腐蚀介质为3.5%Na Cl(质量分数)溶液,分析测试手段包括动电位极化测试(PDP)、电化学阻抗谱(EIS)、扫描电子显微镜(SEM-EDS)、拉曼光谱和X射线衍射(XRD)等。为了深入研究Al1050/AZ31/Al1050多层复合材料的耐腐蚀性和腐蚀产物,对ARB制备的Al1050/Al1050/Al1050多层复合材料进行了相似的测试作为对比。动电位极化曲线和电化学阻抗谱显示,ARB应变水平会显著影响腐蚀速率。与Al1050/Al1050/Al1050样品相比,Al1050/AZ31/Al1050多层复合材料具有更高的腐蚀速率和更低的极化电阻。AZ31层对腐蚀过程起主导作用。拉曼和XRD分析结果表明主要腐蚀产物为Mg(Oh)2,且不含任何氯化合物(如(Mg(Oh)_(2))·MgCl_(2))。

The Li-Mg-B-h composite(2LiBh_(4)+Mgh_(2))has a high capacity of 11.4 wt%as a hydrogen storage ***,the slow kinetics and poor cycling stability severely restrict its practical *** this work,a layered Nb_(2)C MXene was first synthesized and then introduced to tailor the kinetics and cycling stability of the Li-Mg-B-h *** milled 2Lih+MgB_(2)composites were initially hydrogenated to obtain the 2LiBh_(4)+Mgh_(2)*** 2LiBh_(4)+Mgh_(2)+5wt%Nb_(2)C can release 9.0 wt%h_(2)in 30 min at 400℃,while it is only 2.7 wt%for the undoped 2LiBh_(4)+Mgh_(2).The dehydrogenation activation energies of Mgh_(2)and LiBh_(4)are 123 and 154 kJ·mol^(-1)respectively for the 5 wt%Nb_(2)C-doped composite,lower than the undoped composite(164 and 165 kJ·mol^(-1)).The 2LiBh_(4)+Mgh_(2)+5 wt%Nb_(2)C possesses excellent cycling stability,with the reversible capacity only slightly reduced from 9.4 wt%for the 1st cycle to 9.3 wt%for the 20th ***_(2)C keeps stable in the composite and acts as an efficient catalyst for the Li-Mg-B-h *** is believed that both the layered structure and the active Nb element contribu te to the enhanced hydrogen storage performances of the Li-Mg-B-h *** work confirms that the Nb_(2)C MXene with layered stru cture has a significant enhancing impact on the Li-Mg-B-h hydrogen storage materials,which is different from the bulk NbC.

ZnO nanoparticles(nps)among metal oxide(MOs)are proven to be essential electron transporting layers(ETLs)applied in organic solar cells(OSCs).however,intrinsic defects,interfacial charge recombination,and catalytic behavior towards the active layer restrict the applications of ZnO nps for efficient and long-term stable *** commonly available biomolecule cytidine 5'-monophosphate(CMP-Oh)with phosphonic acid,its salt cytidine 5'-monophosphate disodium salt(CMP-ONa)with a phosphate group as an anchoring group and conjugated terminal functional in both analogous molecules provide carrier transfer bridge at bottom interface of the active *** theoretical investigations and characterizations have discovered the multi-site coordination of CMP-Oh towards acceptor molecules and ZnO *** dual-side alignment of CMP analogous molecules hinders interfacial charge recombination and enhances charge transfer potential at ***,PM6:L8-BO-based OSCs with modified ETL obtain 18.13%efficiency,12%higher than that of unmodified *** higher efficiency,CMP-Oh-based OSC devices illustrate remarkably improved thermal stability for 500 h at 85℃with 72%of initial PCE and operation stability for 2000 h with 90.1%of initial *** work reveals the passivation mechanism of multi-anchoring groups towards MOs and single-functional groups towards the active layer to optimize the interface for efficient and highly stable OSCs.

The paper is devoted to the study of optimal control of a hyperbolic system,where the control enters the system through the *** hyperbolic system is the wave equation on a smooth and open domain,where the boundary condition involves the normal derivative at the boundary of z,the time derivative of z times a constant k,and a nonlinear term ***,z is the state and u is the control,satisfying some boundedness condition depending on *** functional cost consists of the energy and the difference between the solution of the system at final time,and a desired state in *** a closed convex set,we prove the existence of an optimal control that minimises the cost functional using a priori ***,using the differentiability of the cost functional with respect to the control,we establish the characterisation by deriving necessary conditions that an optimal control must satisfy.A numerical approach is successfully illustrated by simulations.

BACKGROUND Diabetes is known damage the liver and kidney,leading to hepatic dysfunction and kidney *** is believed to help in lowering the blood glucose levels of diabetic patients and reducing diabetic ***,the effect of stingless bee honey(SBh)administration in relieving liver and kidney damage in diabetes has not been *** To investigate the effect of SBh administration on the kidney and liver of streptozotocin-induced(STZ;55 mg/kg)diabetic Sprague Dawley *** The rats were grouped as follows(n=6 per group):non-diabetic(ND),untreated diabetic(UNT),metformin-treated(MET),and SBh+metformin-treated(SBME)*** successful diabetic induction,ND and UNT rats were given normal saline,whereas the treatment groups received SBh(2.0 g/kg and/or metformin(250 mg/kg)for 12 *** biochemical parameters and histological changes using hematoxylin and eosin(h&E)and periodic acid–Schiff(PAS)staining were *** On h&E and PAS staining,the ND group showed normal architecture and cellularity of Bowman’s capsule and tubules,whereas the UNT and MET groups had an increased glomerular cellularity and thickened basement *** SBh-treated group showed a decrease in hydropic changes and mild cellularity of the glomerulus vs the ND group based on h&E staining,but the two were similar on PAS ***,the SBME-treated group had an increase in cellularity of the glomerulus on h&E staining,but it was comparable to the SBh and ND groups on PAS *** diabetic rats had tubular hydropic tubules,which were smaller than other *** fatty vacuole formation and dilated blood sinusoids in liver tissue were seen in the SBh ***,the UNT group had high glucose levels,which subsequently increased MDA levels,ultimately leading to liver *** treatment reduced this damage,as evidenced by having the lowest fasting glucose,serum alanine transaminase,aspartate transaminase,and alkaline phosphatase l
