Sodium ion batteries(SIBs)are an exciting alternative for post-lithium energy *** can be regarded as a promising and cost-efficient solution for grid applications as they exhibit similar’rocking chair’mechanism as lithium ion batteries,in addition to the abundance and low cost of sodium ***,electrode materials,electrolytes,separators and smart design strategies are under spot and researchers are competing to come up with the ideal *** oxides with mixed structures are regarded as new concept that can offer a set of desired structural and energetic properties and are an attractive choice for next generation sodium ion ***,unlocking this system chemistry,kinetics and reliable understanding of the intercalation/deintercalation mechanism upon electrochemical cycling is quite *** review,through the examination of literature,gives a brief summary of the research progress and recent advances in the investigation of electrode materials based on layered oxides with mixed structures for sodium ion *** new strategy leads in fact to positive electrodes with enhanced energetic performance as they consist of a combination of the energetic or/and structural properties of the existing structures.

Structural health monitoring employs different tools and techniques to provide a prediction for damages that occur in various *** such as debond and cracks in concrete-filled steel tube column(CFST)are serious defects that threaten the integrity of the structural *** waves monitoring applied to the CFST column is necessary to detect damages and quantify their ***,without appropriate signal processing tools,the results of the monitoring process could not be *** this research,a monitoring process based on a Multiphysics numerical simulation study was carried *** signal processing tools:short time Fourier transform(STFT)and Welch Power Spectral Density Estimate(PSD)were used to analyse the captured raw *** STFT spectrogram was effective in identifying the different size of damage based on a graphical *** results show that the increasing of frequency of the excited signal give a better *** increase in peak magnitude values in Welch PSD was found to be proportionate to the change in damage length whereas the damage depth has a less *** results for the crack size identification were less promising than those of debond damage because of the different type of the signal’s propagation *** process conducted by COMSOL software has proved the validity of the adopted signal processing techniques in detecting such damages in CFST columns.

In this paper we hybridize ant colony optimiza- tion （ACt） and river formation dynamics （RFD）, two related swarm intelligence methods. In ACt, ants form paths （prob- lem solutions） by following each other＇s pheromone trails and reinforcing trails at best paths until eventually a single path is followed. On the other hand, RFD is based on copy- ing how drops form rivers by eroding the ground and de- positing sediments. In a rough sense, RFD can be seen as a gradient-oriented version of ACt. Several previous experi- ments have shown that the gradient orientation of RFD makes this method solve problems in a different way as ACt. In particular, RFD typically performs deeper searches, which in turn makes it find worse solutions than ACt in the first exe- cution steps in general, though RFD solutions surpass ACt solutions after some more time passes. In this paper we try to get the best features of both worlds by hybridizing RFD and ACt. We use a kind of ant-drop hybrid and consider both pheromone trails and altitudes in the environment. We apply the hybrid method, as well as ACt and RFD, to solve two nP-hard problems where ACt and RFD fit in a different manner： the traveling salesman problem （TSP） and the prob- lem of the minimum distances tree in a variable-cost graph （MDV）. We compare the results of each method and we an- alyze the advantages of using the hybrid approach in each case.

In this paper,we consider a testing setting where the set of possible definitions of the Implementation Under Test(IUT),as well as the behavior of each of these definitions in all possible interactions,are extensionally defined,i.e.,on an element-by-element and case-by-case *** this setting,the problem of finding the minimum testing strategy such that collected observations will necessarily let us decide whether the IUT is correct or not(i.e.,whether it necessarily belongs to the set of possible correct definitions or not)is studied in four possible problem variants:with or without non-determinism;and with or without more than one possible definition in the sets of possible correct and incorrect *** computational complexity of these variants is studied,and properties such as PSPACE-completeness and Log-APX-hardness are identified.

For improving wastewater quality, one of the dare of steelworks is reducing cyanide in wastewater of gas washing treatment of blast furnaces. Costs of existing treatments, stringent environmental regulations and changeable composition of water from gas treatment, have led to study how available treatments can be modified and to examine new ones. Ozonation is one of cyanide treatments, tested within a European project. A process model was set up with Aspen Plus®, to assess operating conditions and wastewater distinctive characteristics and to demonstrate treatment robustness. Process was modeled by theoretical reactors, taking into account all more affecting reactions. A genetic algorithm was exploited to find kinetic parameters of these reactions. After validation, the model was used to analyse scenarios, by considering also real contexts. Pilot tests were extended, process knowledge was enhanced and suggestions were obtained. To promote cyanide removal with ozone, temperature and pH values were 30°C and 10, respectively. With an ozone (mg/h)/water (L/h) ratio of 100 mg/L, batch mode ensure reaching cyanide regulation limit (0.2 mg/L) after maximum 4.5 h, if initial amount was less than 20 mg/L. Higher removal was obtained than in continuous mode due to constraints related to this last run. Higher wastewater contamination needed further time and more ozone.

This study deals with the synthesis and characterization of low-silica zeolite X, from calcined Kalabsha kaolin, for adsorption of Zn(Ⅱ) ions from aqueous solution. The synthesis processes is performed under hydrother-mal treatment in alkaline solutions. The obtained zeolite samples are characterized using X-ray diffraction, grain size distribution, surface area, and SEM. The critical molar ratios of both SiO2/Al2O3 and K2O/na2O are about 2.9 and 0.16, respectively. Those ratios are needed to give individual low silica zeolite X in a minimum reaction time. The adsorption capacity of the synthesized products is determined by adsorption of Zn(Ⅱ) ions from solution. The results suggest that the zeolite obtained could be converted to a beneficial product, which will be used in future as an ion exchanger in removing heavy metals from wastewaters.

Porphyrins are pigments produced in most animal cells during the synthesis of heme,but their importance for external coloration is ***(Order Strigiformes)are among the few animals that accumulate porphyrins in the integument,where it could serve as a means of *** we hypothesized that the porphyrin content of feathers may depend on body condition and breeding site quality in Eurasian eagle owl(Bubo bubo)fledglings and,thus,constitute amplifiers of the quality of the area where they are *** high-performance liquid chromatography,we found 2 porphyrins(protoporphyrin IX and coproporphyrin III)in the body feathers of 19 eagle owl fledglings from 7 breeding *** III,but not protoporphyrin IX feather concentration,was positively associated with the body mass of fledglings and with the quality of the breeding sites where they were reared with respect to food quality and *** coproporphyrin III is produced under oxidative stress,we suggest that good breeding sites may lead to fledglings in good ***,in turn,may make fledglings induce a certain level of free radical and coproporphyrin III production to signal to conspecifics their site-mediated capacity to cope with oxidative *** is the first time that porphyrin content in the integument has been found to be related to individual quality,opening a new scenario for studying evolution of animal coloration.
