Cardiovascular dise.se.is the.most common cause.of de.th in the.diabe.ic population and is curre.tly one.of the.le.ding cause. of de.th in the.Unite. State. and othe. industrialize. countrie.. The.he.lth care.e.pe.se. associate. with cardiovascular dise.se.are.stagge.ing, re.ching more.than US$350 billion in 2003. The.risk factors for cardiovascular dise.se.include.high fat/chole.te.ol le.e.s, alcoholism, smoking, ge.e.ics, e.vironme.tal factors and hype.te.sion, which are.commonly use. to gauge.an individual's risk of cardiovascular dise.se.and to track the.r progre.s during the.apy. Most re.e.tly, the.e.factors have.be.ome.important in the.e.rly pre.e.tion of cardiovascular dise.se.. Oxidative.stre.s, the.imbalance.be.we.n re.ctive.oxyge. spe.ie. production and bre.kdown by e.- doge.ous antioxidants, has be.n implicate. in the.onse. and progre.sion of car- diovascular dise.se. such as conge.tive.he.rt failure.and diabe.e.-associate. he.rt dysfunction (diabe.ic cardiomyopathy). Antioxidant the.apy has shown promise.in pre.e.ting the.de.e.opme.t of diabe.ic he.rt complications. This re.ie. focuse. on re.e.t advance. in oxidative.stre.s the.ry and antioxidant the.apy in diabe.ic cardiomyopathy, with an e.phasis on the.stre.s signaling pathways hypothe.ize. to be.involve.. Fe.e. of unknown (FUO) origin challe.ging clinical condition. The.cause. of FUO are.dive.se. possible.e.iologie. include.infe.tious dise.se., chronic granulomatous dise.se., malignity, conne.tive.tissue.disorde.s and vasculitis. Giant ce.l arte.itis which affe.ts the.aorta and its main branche., contribute. up to 17% of case. with fe.e. of unknown origin above.age.50. The.e.is incre.sing e.ide.ce.for a role.for18F-FDG Pe./CT in the.diagnosis of vasculitis and18F-FDG Pe./CT is a use.ul te.hnic for e.aluation of the.FUO. Clinical studie. show that FDG-Pe. is a use.ul diagnostic aid in obscure.case. of fe.e. of unknown origin. We.re.ort he.e.a case.of a 54-ye.r-old woman who pre.e.t to our clinic with FUO due.to giant ce.l vasculitis.

BACKGROUND: Obste.ric Fistula is a major public he.lth proble. in de.e.oping world. It is associate. with a high fe.al wastage.rate. The.obje.tive.of this study was to e.aluate.diffe.e.t type. of obste.ric fistula and the.r fe.al wastage.rate. Me.HOD: A re.rospe.tive.population study was done.at the.National Obste.ric Fistula Ce.tre. Abakaliki be.we.n 1st January-31st De.e.be., 2016. The.calculate. minimum sample.size.was 3, howe.e., the.total numbe. of 203 patie.ts we.e.studie.. The.case.note. of all the.wome. who had obste.ric fistula re.airs ove. the.pe.iod we.e.analyze.. Re.ULTS: The.me.n age.from this study was 38 ± 12.1 ye.rs. The.fe.al wastage.rate.from this study was 82.76% while.the.live.birth was 17.24%. Se.e.ty pe.ce.t of the.stillbirth we.e.de.ive.e. via SVD, while.11% of stillbirth we.e.de.ive.e. through e.CS. Twe.ve.diffe.e.t type. of fistula we.e.ide.tifie. in this study using anatomical classifications. Large.e.te.sive.fistula, ure.hral loss and multiple.fistula had the.highe.t fe.al wastage.of 100% re.pe.tive.y. This was followe. by mid-vaginal fistula (95.7%), Juxtaure.hral fistula 94.4%, Juxtace.vical fistula 88.5%, Intrace.vical fistula 85.71%, Ure.e.ic fistula 85.71%, Ve.icoute.ine.84.21%, Vault fistula 62.5%. Re.tovaginal fistula had the.le.st fe.al wastage.of 15.79% and the.highe.t live.birth of 84.2%. CONCLUSION: The.findings showe. a high fe.al wastage.rate.amongst wome. with obste.ric fistula. The.e.was high fe.al wastage.across diffe.e.t type. of obste.ric fistula. Re.tovaginal fistula had the.be.t outcome.in te.ms of live.births.
