A computer network can be defined as many computing devices connected via a communication medium like the internet.Computer network development has proposed how humans and devices communicate today.These networks have improved,facilitated,and made conventional forms of communication easier.However,it has also led to uptick in-network threats and assaults.In 2022,the global market for information technology is expected to reach$170.4 billion.However,in contrast,95%of cyber security threats globally are caused by human action.These networks may be utilized in several control systems,such as home-automation,chemical and physical assault detection,intrusion detection,and environmental monitoring.The proposed literature review presents a wide range of information on Wireless Social Networks(WSNs)and Internet of Things(IoT)frameworks.The aim is first to be aware of the existing issues(issues with traditional methods)and network attacks on WSN and IoT systems and how to defend them.The second is to review the novel work in the domain and find its limitations.The goal is to identify the area’s primary gray field or current research divide to enable others to address the range.Finally,we concluded that configuration.Message Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol(RSTP)messages have higher efficiency in network performance degradation than alternative Bridge Data Unit Protocol(BPDU)forms.The research divides our future research into solutions and newly developed techniques that can assist in completing the lacking component.In this research,we have selected articles from 2015 to 2021 to provide users with a comprehensive literature overview.

Recent development in asymmetric organocatalytic domino reactions involving 1,6-addition as a key step

Due to their unique activation modes,small organic molecule catalysts(organocatalysts)have proved their potential in facilitating the remote functionalizations of unsaturated acceptors with extended conjugation.The organocatalytic 1,6-addition reaction involving the attack of nucleophiles on the δ-carbon of the α,β,γ,δ-unsaturated acceptors has emerged as an excellent strategy to create a stereocenter at the δ-site with high regio-and stereo-control.Organocatalysis has also opened the window for developing complex domino reactions involving the 1,6-addition step.Tremendous advancement has been accomplished in the organocatalytic asymmetric 1,6-addition and related domino reactions for the stereocontrolled synthesis of complex molecular structures bearing multiple stereocenters.This review article summarizes the significant advancement in stereoselective domino reactions involving 1,6-addition as a critical step.

Melting Characteristics of a Phase Change Material Mixed with Nano Particles of Cobalt Oxide Bounded in a Trapezoidal Structure

A novel trapezoidal design for storage of heat energy through melting of phase-change material(PCM)is investigated.Latent heat thermal energy storage system(LHTES)is a promising option to diminish mis-match between energy consumption and supply.For this purpose,Paraffin:Rubitherm-35(RT35)material is successively melted in aluminum structure which is heated from one side and the other sides are kept adiabatic.Melting of PCM is observed experimentally and melt fronts are photographed for various time lengths.The fluid-solid module in COMSOL Multiphysics 5.4 has been utilized.The transient heat conduction with enthalpy function is hired.Simulations are carried out for enhancement of thermal conductivity through addition of nano-entities of cobalt oxide Co3O4.Themelting time is notably reduced with inclusion of nano-entities to enhance thermal conductivity.The time spans for melt start and total melt in case of pure PCM are 375 and 4500(s)respectively whereas for the nano mix case,these are 150 and 3000 s.Thus 33%shorter time length is noticed for charging of the PCM trapezoidal matrix with nano entities of Co3O4 aremixed.The results fromsimulation and lab observations depict similar patterns and are in quite close comparison.

Unconstrained Gender Recognition from Periocular Region Using Multiscale Deep Features

The gender recognition problem has attracted the attention of the computer vision community due to its importance in many applications(e.g.,sur-veillance and human–computer interaction[HCI]).Images of varying levels of illumination,occlusion,and other factors are captured in uncontrolled environ-ments.Iris and facial recognition technology cannot be used on these images because iris texture is unclear in these instances,and faces may be covered by a scarf,hijab,or mask due to the COVID-19 pandemic.The periocular region is a reliable source of information because it features rich discriminative biometric features.However,most existing gender classiﬁcation approaches have been designed based on hand-engineered features or validated in controlled environ-ments.Motivated by the superior performance of deep learning,we proposed a new method,PeriGender,inspired by the design principles of the ResNet and DenseNet models,that can classify gender using features from the periocular region.The proposed system utilizes a dense concept in a residual model.Through skip connections,it reuses features on different scales to strengthen dis-criminative features.Evaluations of the proposed system on challenging datasets indicated that it outperformed state-of-the-art methods.It achieved 87.37%,94.90%,94.14%,99.14%,and 95.17%accuracy on the GROUPS,UFPR-Periocular,Ethnic-Ocular,IMP,and UBIPr datasets,respectively,in the open-world(OW)protocol.It further achieved 97.57%and 93.20%accuracy for adult periocular images from the GROUPS dataset in the closed-world(CW)and OW protocols,respectively.The results showed that the middle region between the eyes plays a crucial role in the recognition of masculine features,and feminine features can be identiﬁed through the eyebrow,upper eyelids,and corners of the eyes.Furthermore,using a whole region without cropping enhances PeriGender’s learning capability,improving its understanding of both eyes’global structure without discontinuity.

Impact of Fractures and Diagenesis on Reservoir Potential of Inner Ramp Paleocene Carbonates Exposed in Western Part of the Lesser Himalayas of Pakistan

The outcrop investigations provide a better comprehension to interrelate facies-diagenesis and fracture networks for the evaluation of reservoir potential of the carbonate rocks.In this paper,we targeted Kahi-Section(Nizampur Basin)and Peeran Tangai-Section(Kalachitta Range)to analyze structural-kinematics,Discrete Fracture Network Modelling,microfacies identification and diagenesis to interpret their impact on reservoir potential of Lockhart Limestone(Paleocene).The structural grain within the study area mostly represents the typical east-west trending tight to overturned folds and north-dipping thrust faults that mimic the north-south Indo-Eurasian collision.However,a second phase of deformation related to east-west compressions also identified which rotated the axes of preexisting structures.Fracture analysis revealed that extensional fractures are oriented at high angle to bedding and are differentiated into three orthogonal sets trending northeast-southwest,northwest-southeast and east-west,whereas,the shear fractures formed two conjugate sets trending northeastsouthwest.The Lockhart Limestone was deposited in the inner ramp setting and microfacies types are packstone,wackestone and wacke-packstone with seven sub-microfacies types.It has been identified that the Lockhart Limestone has the heterogeneous distribution of diagenetic and tectonic features throughout its extent.The observed diagenetic sequence is micritization,calcite cementation,dissolution,neomorphism,pyritization and compaction.The results highlight that open and partially filled fractures may provide an interconnected network to promote fluid mobility,leading to higher values of fracture permeability.The porosity values of the pore matrix were greater than fracture,resulting a significant impact on reservoir storage capacity.In contrast,a negative impact on reservoir potential has been shown by stylolites,veins and dissolution seams.However,based on the overall studies,the Lockhart Limestone revealed the prospect of a good reservoir unit in th

We study the particle dynamics around a black hole(BH)in f(Q)gravity.First,we investigate the influence of the parameters of f(Q)gravity on the horizon structure of the BH,photon orbits and the radius of the innermost stable circular orbit(ISCO)of massive particles.We further study the effects of the parameters of f(Q)gravity on the shadow cast by the BH.Moreover,we consider weak gravitational lensing using the general method,where we also explore the deflection angle of light rays around the BH in f(Q)gravity in uniform and nonuniform plasma mediums.

Evaluation of ecosystem supply services and calculation of economic value in Kargil District

Mountain ecosystem provides numerous vital ecosystem services(ESs)to the people residing within or near the mountains worldwide.The mountains provide services such as timber,fibre,fodder,fuelwood,medicine,aesthetic,recreation,ritual,and religion,and many other services that are vital for the maintenance of the ecosystem.The mountains of Barsoo and Tai-Suru regions in Kargil District are much familiar for their ESs supply,and the residents have utilized these services for years.The present study was focused on the provisioning ESs.We used a random sample approach for household selection and data collection regarding the pre-prepared questionnaire;the number of households was obtained from government census data.The primary ESs(identified by more than 40%of the respondents)were assessed through the direct market valuation method.The direct market valuation method produced an overwhelming value,specifically for grazing and fodder services in both regions of the study area.Results showed that grazing service was valued at 482,346.43 USD/a for Barsoo region and 1,458,099.04 USD/a for Tai-Suru region.Similarly,fodder service of Barsoo and Tai-Suru regions corresponded to values of 69,833.61 and 110,886.06 USD/a,respectively.On the other hand,food service of Barsoo and Tai-Suru regions was valued at 2601.04 and 2969.90 USD/a,respectively,and medicinal service was valued at 757.39 and 4430.94 USD/a in Barsoo and Tai-Suru regions,respectively.In addition,the regions were economically backwards,and the resident’s survival and well-being relied on the mountain ESs.Therefore,it is not possible for the residents to pay services replacement costs if the services need to replace by other means.Unfortunately,such mountain ecosystem is highly prone to climate change and other human activities that would negatively impact the ecosystem functions.Therefore,this study would be helpful for the policymakers of the region to draft any developmental plan/framework by integrating the value of ESs that would be the key to achieving sustai

Strategies for improving the photocatalytic performance of metal-organic frameworks for CO_(2) reduction: A review

Photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction is an appealing strategy for mitigating the environmental effects of greenhouse gases while simultaneously producing valuable carbon-neutral fuels.Numerous attempts have been made to produce effective and efficient photocatalysts for CO_(2)reduction. In contrast, the selection of competitive catalysts continues to be a substantial hindrance and a considerable difficulty in the development of photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction. It is vital to emphasize different techniques for building effective photocatalysts to improve CO_(2)reduction performance in order to achieve a long-term sustainability. Metalorganic frameworks(MOFs) are recently emerging as a new type of photocatalysts for CO_(2)reduction due to their excellent CO_(2)adsorption capability and unique structural characteristics. This review examines the most recent breakthroughs in various techniques for modifying MOFs in order to improve their efficiency of photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction. The advantages of MOFs using as photocatalysts are summarized, followed by different methods for enhancing their effectiveness for photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction via partial ion exchange of metal clusters, design of bimetal clusters, the modification of organic linkers,and the embedding of metal complexes. For integrating MOFs with semiconductors, metallic nanoparticles(NPs), and other materials, a number of different approaches have been also reviewed. The final section of this review discusses the existing challenges and future prospects of MOFs as photocatalysts for CO_(2)reduction. Hopefully, this review can stimulate intensive research on the rational design and development of more effective MOF-based photocatalysts for visible-light driven CO_(2)conversion.

Multistage-batch bipolar membrane electrodialysis for base production from high-salinity wastewater

Bipolar membrane electrodialysis(BMED)is considered a state-of-the-art technology for the conversion of salts into acids and bases.However,the low concentration of base generated from a traditional BMED process may limit the viability of this technology for a large-scale application.Herein,we report an especially designed multistage-batch(two/three-stage-batch)BMED process to increase the base concentration by adjusting different volume ratios in the acid(Vacid),base(Vbase),and salt compartments(Vsalt).The findings indicated that performance of the two-stage-batch with a volume ratio of Vacid:Vbase:Vsalt=1:1:5 was superior in comparison to the threestage-batch with a volume ratio of Vacid:Vbase:Vsalt=1:1:2.Besides,the base concentration could be further increased by exchanging the acid produced in the acid compartment with fresh water in the second stage-batch process.With the two-stage-batch BMED,the maximum concentration of the base can be obtained up to 3.40 mol∙L^(-1),which was higher than the most reported base production by BMED.The low energy consumption and high current efficiency further authenticate that the designed process is reliable,cost-effective,and more productive to convert saline water into valuable industrial commodities.

Electrochemical response of MgO/Co_(3)O_(4) oxide layers produced by plasma electrolytic oxidation and post treatment using cobalt nitrate

This work looked into the influence of the sealing treatment on the structural feature and electrochemical response of AZ31 Mg alloy coated via plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO).Here,the inorganic layers produced by PEO in an alkaline-phosphate electrolyte were subsequently immersed for different periods in cold(60°C)and hot(100°C)aqueous solutions containing either 1 or 3 gr of cobalt nitrate hexahydrate in the presence of hydrogen peroxide as an initiator.The results showed that the sealing treatments in the hot solutions could trigger the hydration reactions of PEO coating which would largely assist the surface incorporation of Co_(3)O_(4)into the coating.In contrast,the sealing in cold solutions led to less compact coatings,which was attributed to the fact the hydration reactions would be restricted at 60°C.A nearly fully sealed coating with a porosity of~0.5%was successfully formed on the sample immersed in the hot solution containing 1 gr of cobalt nitrate hexahydrate.Thus,the electrochemical stability of this fully sealed coating was superior to the other samples as it had the lowest corrosion current density(4.71×10^(-10)A·cm^(-2))and the highest outer layer resistance(3.81×10^(7)Ω·cm^(2)).The composite coatings developed in this study are ideal for applications requiring high electrochemical stability.
