A process model of quantum mechanics utilizes a combinatorial game to generate a discrete and finite causal space, which can be defined as a self-consistent quantum mechanics. An emergent space-time ?and continuous wave function arise through a non-uniform interpolation process. Standard non-relativistic quantum mechanics emerges under the limit of infinite information (the causal space grows to infinity) and infinitesimal scale (the separation between points goes to zero). This model has the potential to address several paradoxes in quantum mechanics while remaining computationally powerful.

The lability of behavior as a marker of comorbid depression and anxiety

This study examines nine dynamical and three emotional aspects of behavior in depression and anxiety, singly and comorbidly. The study employs the Structure of Temperament Questionnaire Compact (STQ 77), whose 12 scales assess the energetic, lability and sensitivity aspects of behavior in the physical, social, mental and emotional domains. The STQ 77 was administered to 86 patients with Major Depression, 85 patients with an anxiety disorder, 43 patients with comorbid depression and anxiety, and 71 subjects without depression or anxiety disorder all presenting to a private outpatient clinical practice. Results: 1) Depression was associated with self-reports of increased impulsivity and rigidity of behavior;2) Depressed patients reported significantly lower physical energy, tempo of physical activity and plasticity of behavior. The presence of comorbid anxiety further worsened these effects;3) The ability to sustain attention on a mental task and to learn new information was lower in depressed patients than in other groups. Conclusions: comorbid depression and anxiety might be associates, decreasing adaptivity and the self-regulatory balance of behavior, leading to the de- velopment of extremes in behavioral reactivity (impulsivity and rigidity).

This article proposes a framework, called BP-M* which includes: 1) a methodology to analyze, engineer, restructure and implement business processes, and 2) a process model that extends the process diagram with the specification of resources that execute the process activities, allocation policies, schedules, times of activities, management of queues in input to the activities and workloads so that the same model can be simulated by a discrete event simulator. The BP-M* framework has been applied to a real case study, a public Contact Center which provides different typologies of answers to users’ requests. The simulation allows to study different system operating scenarios (“What-If” analysis) providing useful information for analysts to evaluate restructuring actions.

Natural killer (NK)-cell neoplasms are relatively uncommon tumors. Classification schemes prior to that of the World Health Organization (2001) did not account clearly for these neoplasms. Advances in immunohematology over the past 10 years have aided in the recognition and categorization of NK cell tumors. One type of tumor that belongs to this class is extranodal, nasal-type NK/T-cell lymphoma. These lymphomacells express a cytotoxic T-cell or NK-cell phenotype, including CD56 and TIA-1. Nasal-type NK/T-cell lymphomas arise from extranasal sites such as the skin and are often associated with Epstein-Barr virus infection. Asian adults are affected most commonly. Very few pediatric cases are reported in the literature,of which only 5 presented with cutaneous involvement. We report a case of an adolescent Bangladeshi boy with extranodal,nasal-type NK/T-cell lymphomawho had cutaneous nodules on the extremities.
