Chagas disease cardiomyopathy(CCC), the main consequence of Trypanosoma cruzi(***) infection, is an inflammatory cardiomyopathy that develops in up to 30% of infected individuals. The heart inflammation in CCC patients is characterized by a Th1 T cell-rich myocarditis with increased production of interferon(IFN)-γ, produced by the CCC myocardial infiltrate and detected at high levels in the periphery. IFN-γ has a central role in the cardiomyocyte signaling during both acute and chronic phases of *** infection. In this review, we have chosen to focus in its pleiotropic mode of action during CCC, which may ultimately be the strongest driver towards pathological remodeling and heart failure. We describe here the antiparasitic protective and pathogenic dual role of IFN-γ in Chagas disease.

This work contributes to the use of alternative adhesives in the wood-based industry,where pine wood is commonly *** investigation identifies the influence and the optimal content(8,12 and 15wt%)of a bio-based polyurethane adhesive in the production of medium density particleboards(MDp).A compaction pressure of 4 Mpa at 100oC for 10 minutes is considered in the manufacture of panels based on pine wood residues and bio-based *** bulk density,flexural modulus(MOE)and strength(MOR)properties under static three-point bending are obtained according to the Brazilian standard NBR *** results are compared with NBR 14810 and other standards to verify its performance based on the minimum *** density is not significantly affected by the investigated adhesive *** and MOR reach average values equivalent to 12wt%and 15wt%of the adhesive,and both meet the minimum requirements established in international normative *** adhesive level range responsible for maximizingρ,MOE and MOR is between 12.42wt%and 15.79wt%.

Integration system is used to denote practices that combine systematic use of the land and technologies,in which forest species are used in conjunction with herbaceous plants and/or animals respecting a spatial or temporal *** that this type of production seeks to balance ecological and economic factors,it is important to understand the financial benefits and risks involved in this *** analysis,therefore,acts as an important analysis tool to foster this type of *** paper aimed to conduct analysis of investment risk of a crop-livestock-forestry system deployed in Brazil,comparing two different production scenarios,scenario I with 17 ha and scenario II with 25 *** risk analysis was performed using the Monte Carlo method and sensitivity analysis(by varying the factors:the discount rate,productivity and price).A cash flow was elaborated based on annual cost and revenues data of the agricultural crops(corn and soybeans),livestock and eucalyptus,using an interest rate of 6%per *** results indicated that the optimal age for cutting the eucalyptus was at seven years on both scenarios;scenario I had better return on investment using deterministic and probabilistic methods;scenario I presents higher investments risks;there is a negative relation between discount rate and annualized net present value(ANpV);increased productivity of crops provides greater profitability to the system;there has been an increase in the economic viability of the system,as value has been added to the *** Carlo method and the sensitivity analysis showed to be an appropriate tool to analyze the risk of crop-livestock-forestry systems,making it possible to foresee how the project will respond to possible scenarios.

背景：免疫组织化学标记物有助于肿瘤诊断及预后评估。通过对硝基酪氨酸分析及采用一氧化氮合成酶1（NOS1）、一氧化氮合成酶2（NOS2）、一氧化氮合成酶3（NOS3）检测分析可了解一氧化氮（NO）与肿瘤的相关性。NO与超氧阴离子反应产生的过氧亚硝酸对基因有毒性作用，过氧亚硝酸传递一个硝基基团到酪氨酸的苯环上形成硝基酪氨酸。细胞内硝基酪氨酸的积累说明过氧亚硝酸持续生成。NO刺激所生成的环氧化酶-2（COX-2）与肿瘤内新生血管水平相关，研究表明新生血管影响肿瘤预后，免疫组化标记CD34可表示微血管生成，从而被用于预测肿瘤预后。本研究检测上述标记物在软骨肉瘤中的表达并分析与软骨肉瘤分级和预后的相关性。方法：101例软骨肉瘤患者肿瘤组织样本采用甲醛固定，组织样本采用免疫组织化学染色，指标为：NOS1、NOS2、NOS3、COX-2、硝基酪氨酸和CD34。5例正常软骨样本作为对照。研究分析患者特征、手术变量、肿瘤分级与这些指标的相关性。使用Kaplan—Meier多变量统计学方法分析生存曲线及生存率。结果：硝基酪氨酸、COX-2和CD34与组织学分级有明显相关性（p=0．022，p=0．014，p=0．028），但与总体预后无相关性（p=0．064，p=0．143，p=0．581）。NOS2阳性表达常预示较高的局部复发率（p=0．038）。NOS1、NOS2阳性表达预示较低的生存率（p=0．007，p〈0．001）。通过多变量分析处理，NOS2的表达被证实可作为局部复发率的独立预后判断因素；NOS1、NOS2的表达作为因变量，它们单独或复合阳性表达常与较低的总生存率有关（p=0．046，p=0．004）[危险率，3．17（95％置信区间，1．0-9．8）和5．58（95％置信区间，1．7-18．0）]。

The proto-philippine Sea plate(ppSp)has been proposed by several authors to account for the origin of the Mesozoic supra-subduction ophiolites along the philippine *** this paper,a comprehensive review of the ophiolites in the eastern portion of the philippines is *** data on the geology,ages and geochemical signatures of the oceanic lithospheric fragments in Luzon(isabela,Lagonoy in Camarines Norte,and Rapu-Rapu island),Central philippines(Samar,Tacloban,Malitbog and Southeast Bohol),and eastern Mindanao(Dinagat and pujada)are *** of the Halmahera Ophiolite to the south of the philippines are also reviewed for *** all of the crust-mantle sequences preserved along the eastern philippines share Early to Late Cretaceous *** geochemical signatures of mantle and crustal sections reflect both mid-oceanic ridge and suprasubduction *** paleomagnetic information is currently limited to the Samar Ophiolite,results indicate a near-equatorial Mesozoic supra-subduction zone *** general,correlation of the crust-mantle sequences along the eastern edge of the philippines reveal that they likely are fragments of the Mesozoic ppSp.

The effects of the supplementation with L-glutamine(GLN)or L-alanyl-L-glutamine(GDp)on the progression of the systemic and hepatic metabolic status of rats having untreated type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1DM)were *** Wistar diabetic rats(streptozotocin,60 mg/kg)were allotted to four groups supplemented by gavage for thirty days as follows:control and diabetic receiving saline;diabetic receiving GLN(248 mg/kg);and diabetic receiving GDp(400 mg/kg).Body weight,plasmatic parameters and kidney function were *** hepatocytes were used to assess gluconeogenic *** and kidney were used for morphological analyses.T1DM decreased the number and increased the area of the hepatocytes,possibly because of the observed enlargement of glycogen *** weight,glomerular area and proteinuria increased,and glomerular filtration rate decreased,in non-supplemented T1DM *** area and proteinuria were reversed by both *** T1DM hepatocytes released less glucose,which could have been diverted to glycogen synthesis and secondary glycogenosis observed in T1DM;this was partially reversed by the *** results point to a possible beneficial effect of glutamine on the metabolic and hepatic impairments of T1DM.
