BACKGROUND Autoimmune hepatitis consists of a chronic liver disease whose etiology is unknown.It is comprised of relevant immunological aspects and of immunemediated liver injury.Eosinophilia may be a considerable feature,particularly happening in male patients.CASE SUMMARY We report here a Crohn´s disease patient presenting with de novo hypergammaglobulinemia,circulating autoantibodies and elevated transaminase levels.He also had significant peripheral eosinophilia and elevated immunoglobulin E levels at diagnosis.The pathology findings from liver biopsy were compatible with autoimmune hepatitis with eosinophilic infiltration.CONCLUSION This is the first report of autoimmune hepatitis with exuberant eosinophilic infiltration in the liver and bone marrow,described in a patient with Crohn’s disease.

The pinewood nematode（PWN）, Bursaphelenchus xylophilus, has become one of the most severe threats to pine forest worldwide. Nematodes, migrating through resin canals and feeding on the living cells, induce rapid metabolic changes in ray parenchyma cells, create cavitation areas, decrease xylem water content and oleoresin exudation, and cause necrosis of parenchyma and cambial cells. This study focused on the impact of PWN infection on technological parameters of wood and evaluated the impact of anatomic and biochemical incidences of tree defense reactions on basic density, extractive content and moisture sorption properties of Pinus pinaster wood.Samples of infected and uninfected wood were studied.The presence of nematodes reduced wood basic density by2 % and decreased the total content of extractives in infected wood as compared with uninfected（5.98 and8.90 % of dry wood mass, respectively）. Extractives in infected trees had inverse distribution along the trunk as compared with uninfected trees. The adsorption isotherms for infected and uninfected wood had similar positioning.We recorded differences（some statistically significant） in the equilibrium moisture content of infected and uninfected wood under varying environmental conditions. Despite the verified differences in wood basic density, extractive content and moisture sorption properties, the overall conclusion is that the PWN had a slight impact on these characteristics of wood.

I propose to introduce a few lines of analysis for the RTP Song Contest (Portuguese Radio and Television Song Contest—-Festival RTP da Can??o). I intend to raise a few questions that will help us to understand the role of this competition in the Portuguese musical and cultural scene of the 1960s. RTP Song Contest is the longest television song contest in Portugal. This competition went through several crucial moments in the recent history of Portugal, witnessing the change from dictatorship to democracy. In late 1960s, still under the authoritarian regime, several social changes took place and music played an important role in these changes, as several studies have documented. In 1969, Portugal bet on Simone de Oliveira to bring us the prize, but the result was not the expected. This event brought us many questions about the importance of the Portuguese participation in the Eurovision Song Contest and the fairness of the European evaluation. This paper intends to reflect the implications of this particular event and the importance of the Contest for the Portuguese music scene at the end of the critical 1960"s. With this paper, I intend to introduce some lines of analysis of the first ten years of the Portuguese Radio and Television Song Contest (Festival RTP da Can??o—-RTP Song Contest). I intend to raise a few questions that will help us to understand the role of this competition in the Portuguese musical and cultural scene of the late 1960s and 1970s, based on the study of the daily press. RTP Song Contest is the most long-life television contest in Portugal. For this reason, it is important to make a short historical overview of this period and the history of television in Portugal. At the same time, the analysis of statistical data of audiences enables us to understand the television phenomenon in the late 1960s.

The aim of this study was to identify three-dimensional microstructural changes of trabecular bone with age and gender, using micro-computed tomography. Human trabecular bone from two disease groups, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis was analyzed. A prior analysis of the effects of some procedure variables on the micro-CT results was performed. Preliminary micro-CT scans were performed with three voxel resolutions and two acquisition conditions. On the reconstruction step, the image segmentation was performed with three different threshold values. Samples were collected from patients, with coxarthrosis (osteoarthritis) or fragility fracture (osteoporosis). The specimens of the coxarthrosis group include twenty females and fifteen males, while the fragility fracture group was composed by twenty three females and seven males. The mean age of the population was 69 ± 11 (females) and 67 ± 10 years (males), in the coxarthrosis group, while in the fragility fracture group was 81 ± 6 (females) and 78 ± 6 (males) years. The 30 μm voxel size provided lower percentage difference for the microarchitecture parameters. Acquisition conditions with 160 μA and 60 kV permit the evaluation of all the volume’s sample, with low average values of the coefficients of variation of the microstructural parameters. No statistically significant differences were found between the two diseases groups, neither between genders. However, with aging, there is a decrease of bone volume fraction, trabecular number and fractal dimension, and an increase of structural model index and trabecular separation, for both disease groups and genders. The parameters bone specific surface, trabecular thickness and degree of anisotropy have different behaviors with age, depending on the type of disease. While in coxarthrosis patients, trabecular thickness increases with age, in the fragility fracture group, there is a decrease of trabecular thickness with increasing age. Background:In recent years posterior corneal astigmatism and its effect on total corneal astigmatism has been studied,with research showing that this can impact total astigmatism.This study aims to ascertain if there is significant change in the posterior corneal astigmatism after cataract surgery and its impact on the total astigmatism.Methods:Analysis of 76 eyes that underwent cataract surgery with monofocal intraocular lens implantation.Corneal topography was performed with Pentacam(OCULUS®)pre-and post-operatively.Total corneal astigmatism was calculated with the algorithm of vergence tracing.We compared preoperative and postoperative changes in the magnitude and axis differences of anterior corneal curvature astigmatism,posterior corneal curvature astigmatism and the calculated total corneal astigmatism.We calculated the correlation between the total preoperative astigmatism and the difference between total corneal astigmatism and anterior corneal astigmatism.Results:The mean preoperative and postoperative posterior astigmatism was 0.31±0.02 D,showing no significant differences before and after surgery(P=0.989).Statistically significant differences between the calculated total corneal astigmatism and anterior corneal astigmatism were registered preoperatively and postoperatively in the with-the-rule anterior(WTR)corneal astigmatism(P=0.004,P<0.0001);against-the-rule(ATR)anterior corneal astigmatism(P<0.0001,P<0.0001)and in the oblique(P=0.026,P=0.019)subgroups.The posterior corneal astigmatism and the total corneal astigmatism correlated positively with the differences between the total corneal and anterior corneal astigmatism(R=0.378,P=0.001).Conclusions:There were statistically significant differences between the magnitude of the total astigmatism and anterior corneal astigmatism,underlining the impact of posterior corneal astigmatism.A positive correlation between the preoperative posterior astigmatism and the difference between the total corneal and the anterior corneal astigmatism suggests a specially r

The Systemic Arterial Hypertension (SAH) stands out among the chronic non-transmissible pathologies that impact the cause and/or aggravation of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) on a global level, as the disease is an underestimated disorder due to non-perceptive symptoms and associated with factors and risk markers of another CVD. Therefore, establishing the risk of progression and aggravation of the SAH, according the Framingham Risk Score (FRS), allows to reducing morbidity and improving preventative measures for DCVs. This observational and transversal study approaches the data collection of patient records at the Health Family Strategy of Senhor do Bonfim, BA, which established differences by descriptive and inferential statistical analysis (correlation and regression). The aspects of hypertension associated with risk factors for atherosclerosis were analyzed, determining the risk of developing cardiovascular events in 10 years by FRS. From 432 families, 746 patients were selected, of which 340 are hypertensive individuals (SAH = 45.57%) and 406 (NSAH = 54.42%) non-hypertensives. Among the SAH the majority (31.17%) was in the age range of 63 - 77, but, in both groups, women were in stronger number. There was greater prevalence in SAH for all the characteristics analyzed, smoking (13.20%), sedentary (29.41%) and cardiovascular accident (22.60%). The SAH group is more susceptive to the CVD progress in 10 years by FRS (P < 0.0001 ANOVA). In the NSAH group, there were significant associations among all the variables analyzed as was expected, without differences between the linear correlation and regression, indicating the physio-metabolic equilibrium of the factors and markers evaluated by FRS. Already in SAH group, despite the correlations have been significant too, the regression analysis revealed that only Total Cholesterol (P = 0.0086);LDL (P < 0.0001), Glucose (P < 0.0006) and Age (P < 0.0001) have significative association with FRS. 目的:比较圆锥角膜患者角膜交联(CXL)、等渗(IR)和低渗核黄素(HR)的结果。方法:回顾性研究,包括29例29眼圆锥角膜患者行角膜交联术,IR组15眼,HR组14眼。参数分析包括(随访1a):最佳矫正视力(BCVA),球体和柱体,中央和较薄处角膜厚度,平均和最大角膜曲率(分别为Km和Kmax),并发症及进展。结果:观察到两组的BCVA提高:治疗前IR组为0.26±0.57,HR组为0.47±0.72。术后1a,IR组为0.13±0.79,HR组为0.29±1.52,IR组BCVA更高(P=0.018)。术后1mo,两组中央角膜厚度(μm)均减少,但在接下来的数月中增加:术前IR组为497±28μm,HR组为432±14μm;术后1a,IR组为480±31μm,HR组为424±15μm。较薄处角膜厚度也是如此,术前IR组为487±29μm,HR组为410±20μm;术后1a,IR组为468±33μm,HR组为413±13μm。两组中Km和Kmax均降低。每组6眼呈现短暂的混浊,无持续性混浊。结论:在中央角膜厚度<400μm的患者中,HR的使用似乎是一个有效的替代执行传统CXL的技术。
