Un-doped and ZnAl_(x)O_(1.5x+1):0.1 mol%tb^(3+)(ZAOt)nano-powders were synthesized via citrate sol-gel *** AIx moles were varied in the range of 0.25≤x≤*** X-ray powder diffraction(XRD)data reveal that for xthe prepared samples crys.al structure consists of mixed phases of the cubic ZnAl_(2)O_(4) and hexagonal ZnO phases,while for x>1.5 the structure consists of single phase of cubic ZnAl_(2)O_(4).the Raman and Fourier-trans form infrared(FtIR)vibrational spectroscopy show the presence of vibrations emanating ZnAl_(2)O_(4) *** electron microscopy(sEM)and transmission electron microscopy(tEM)show the presence of irregular sphere at x>2.0 attributed to ZnAl_(2)O_(4).the photoluminescence(PL)spectroscopy reveals emissions from both the host and tb^(3+)*** from tb^(3+)are observed at 382,414,439,458 nm and 489,545,585,621 nm,which were attributed to the^(5)D_(3)→^(7)F_(6,5,4,2) and ^(5^)D_(4)→^(7)F_(6,5,4,3),*** results confirm that the tb^(3+)occupation site depends on the Alx *** International Commission on Illumination(CIE)colour chromaticity shows that the emission colour can be tuned from blue to green by varying the AIx moles.

Genotoxicity of Pesticide Waste Contaminated soil and Its Leachate

Objective Improper land disposal of hazardous waste can result in leaching of hazardous constituents which may contaminate ground and surface water leading to adverse impact on human health and environment consequences. the present study utilized mammalian cell culture for the genotoxicity assessment of waste and its leachate. Methods Genotoxic potential and chemical analysis of pesticide derived tarry waste contaminated soil extract and its leachate was.assessed using in vitro human lymphocyte cultures.and GC-Ms. Results the investigation revealed that the soil extract could cause significant to highly significant genotoxicity in the form of DNA strand break at 25 mL (Psomal aberration at 25 mL (Pthe leachate could cause significant DNA strand break and chromosomal aberration only at 100 mL and 200 mL (Pse levels. Conclusion the genotoxicity observed is.attributed to carbaril and tetra methyl naphthyl carbamate, the major ingredients of the extracts, as revealed by GC-Ms.

Metal Contamination in Nullah Dek Water and Accumulation in Rice

A res.arch study was carried out to determine the electrical conductivity （EC）, residual sodium carbonate （RsC）, sodium adsorption ratio （sAR）, pH and metals in metal-polluted irrigation water from a nullah and those in soils over a period of time, and the effect of metals on rice yield and metal concentrations in rice grain and straw. two sites （I and If） were selected on the bank of Nullah Dek at thatta Wasiran in sheikhupura District （Pakis.an）, with two rice varieties, super Bas.ati and Bas.ati 385, at both sites. Water samples were collected during rice crop growth at 15-day intervals from August 3 to November 1, 2002. the results showed that Nullah Dek water had an EC 〉1.0 ds m^-1 and RsC of 2.78-4.11 mmolc L^-1, which was hazardous for crops, but the sAR was within the safe limit. Cu, Mn Cd and sr were also within safe limits. the soil analysis showed that site Ⅱ was free from salinity/sodicity, whereas site Ⅰ was saline sodic. Among metals, Zn was sometimes deficient, Cu, Mn and Fe were adequate, and st, Ni and Cd were within safe limits in the soil at both the sites. After the rice crop harvest, concentrations of all metals tested were us.ally slightly increased, being higher in the upper soil layer than the lower. In addition, Bas.ati 385 produced higher rice grain and straw yield than super Bas.ati. Chemical analysis of rice grain indicated the presence of Zn, Cu, Fe, Mn, Pb and sr, whereas rice straw contained Zn, Cu, Fe, Mn and sr, with Cd and Ni both being found in minute quantities.

A rare case of bilateral scleromalacia perforans, bilateral peripheral corneal thinning (contact lens cornea) and unilateral orbital inflammatory dis.ase in a 50 year old female patient with an indolent form Wegener's granulomatosis(WG) involving lungs.and sinuses is reported. the patient survived for 12 years.after the initial diagnosis of systemic dis.ase. there was perforation of left globe following trauma and no perforation of the right globe till the last follow up of the patient.

the practice of integrating images from two or more sensors collected from the same area or object is known as image *** goal is to extract more s.atial and spectral information from the resulting fused image than from the component *** images must be fused to improve the s.atial and spectral quality of both panchromatic and multispectral *** study provides.a novel picture fusion technique that employs L0 smoothening Filter,Non-subsampled Contour let transform(NsCt)and s.arse Representation(sR)followed by the Max absolute rule(MAR).the fusion approach is.as follows:first,the multispectral and panchromatic images.are divided into lower and higher frequency components using the L0 smoothing *** comes the fusion process,which uses.an approach that combines NsCt and sR to fuse low frequency ***,the Max-absolute fusion rule is used to merge high frequency ***,the final image is obtained through the disintegration of fused low and high frequency *** terms of correlation coefficient,Entropy,s.atial frequency,and fusion mutual information,our method outperforms other methods in terms of image quality enhancement and vis.al evaluation.

the ability to reliably detect coronary artery dis.ase based on the acousticnoises produced by a stenosis can provide a simple, non-invasive technique for *** res.arch exploits the shear wave fields in body tissue to detect andanalyze coronary stenoses. the methods.and ideas outlined in earlier efforts [6] includinga mathematical model utilizing an internal strain variable approximation tothe quasi-linear viscoelastic constitutive equation proposed by Fung in [19] is extendedhere. As.an initial investigation, a homogeneous two-dimensional viscoelastic geometryis considered. Being uniform in θ, this geometry behaves.as.a one dimensionalmodel, and the results generated from it are compared to the one dimensional resultsfrom [6]. to allow for different assumptions on the elastic response, several variationsof the model are considered. A s.atistical significance test is employed to determine ifthe more complex models.are significant improvements. After calibrating the modelwith a comparison to previous findings, more complicated geometries.are *** involving a heterogeneous geometrywith a uniformring running throughthe original medium, a θ-dependent model which considers.a rigid partial occlusionformed along the inner radius of the geometry, and a model which combines the ringand occlusion are presented.

Improved prediction of clay soil expansion using machine learning algorithms.and meta-heuristic dichotomous ensemble classifiers

soil swelling-related disaster is considered as one of the most devas.ating geo-hazards in modern ***,proper determination of a soil’s.ability to expand is very vital for achieving a secure and safe ground for ***,this study has provided a novel and intelligent approach that enables.an improved estimation of swelling by using kernelised machines(Bayes.an linear regression(BLR)&bayes point machine(BPM)support vector machine(sVM)and deep-support vector machine(D-sVM));(multiple linear regressor(REG),logistic regressor(LR)and artificial neural network(ANN)),tree-based algorithms such as decision forest(RDF)&boosted trees(BDt).Also,and for the first time,meta-heuristic classifiers incorporating the techniques of voting(VE)and s.acking(sE)were *** independent scenarios of explanatory features’combination that influence soil behaviour in swelling were *** results indicated BLR as possessing the highest amount of deviation from the predictor variable(the actual swell-strain).REG and BLR performed slightly better than ANN while the meta-heuristic learners(VE and sE)produced the best overall performance(greatest R2 value of 0.94 and RMsE of 0.06%exhibited by VE).CEC,plasticity index and moisture content were the features considered to have the highest level of *** binary classifiers(sVM,D-sVM and BPM)gave better accuracy(average accuracy and recall rate of 0.93 and 0.60)compared to ANN,LR and ***-driven diagnostic test indicated that the meta-heuristic models’best performance occurred when ML training was conducted using k-fold validation ***,it is recommended that the concepts developed herein be deployed during the preliminary phases of a geotechnical or geological site characterisation by using the best performing meta-heuristic models via their background coding resource.

Automatic prediction of time to failure of open pit mine slopes based on radar monitoring and inverse velocity method

Radar slope monitoring is now widely used across the world, for example, the slope s.ability radar(ssR)and the movement and surveying radar(MsR) are currently in use in many mines.around the ***, to fully realize the effectiveness of this radar in notifying mine personnel of an impending slope failure, a method that can confidently predict the time of failure is neces.ary. the model developed in this study is based on the inverse velocity method pioneered by Fukuzono in 1985. the model named the slope failure prediction model(sFPM) was validated with the displacement data from two slope failures monitored with the MsR. the model was found to be very effective in predicting the time to failure while providing adequate evacuation time once the progressive displacement s.age is reached.
