An a-C/a-C:N junction,which used palmyra sugar as the carbon source and ammonium hydroxide(NH4OH)as the dopant source,was successfully deposited on the ITO glass substrate using the nano-spraying method.The current-voltage relationship of the junction was found to be a Schottky-like contact,and therefore the junction shows the characteristic rectifiers.This means the a-C and a-C:N are semiconductors with different types of conduction.Moreover,the samples showed an increase in current and voltage value when exposed to visible light(bright state)compared to the dark condition,thereby,indicating the creation of electron-hole pairs during the exposure.It was also discovered that the relationship between current and voltage for the a-C/a-C:N junction sample formed a curve that satisfies the rule of the photovoltaic effect when exposed to visible light from a light bulb.The exposure of this sample to direct sunlight at AM 1.5 conditions produced a curve that meets the rules for the emergence of the photovoltaic effect with higher characteristics for the current-voltage relationship.Thus,the a-C/a-C:N junction sample is a solar cell successfully fabricated using a sample method and has a maximum efficiency of 0.0013%.

Parkinsonism by unilateral,intranigralβ-sitosterolβ-D-glucoside administration in rats is distinguished in that theα-synuclein insult begins unilaterally but spreads bilaterally and increases in severity over time,thus replicating several clinical features of Parkinson’s disease,a typicalα-synucleinopathy.As Nurr1 repressesα-synuclein,we evaluated whether unilateral transfected of rNurr1-V5 transgene via neurotensin-polyplex to the substantia nigra on day 30 after unilateralβ-sitosterolβ-D-glucoside lesion could affect bilateral neuropathology and sensorimotor deficits on day 30 post-transfection.This study found that rNurr1-V5 expression but not that of the green fluorescent protein(the negative control)reducedβ-sitosterolβ-D-glucoside-induced neuropathology.Accordingly,a bilateral increase in tyrosine hydroxylase-positive cells and arborization occurred in the substantia nigra and increased tyrosine hydroxylase-positive ramifications in the striatum.In addition,tyrosine hydroxylase-positive cells displayed less senescence markerβ-galactosidase and more neuron-cytoskeleton markerβIII-tubulin and brain-derived neurotrophic factor.A significant decrease in activated microglia(positive to ionized calcium-binding adaptor molecule 1)and neurotoxic astrocytes(positive to glial fibrillary acidic protein and complement component 3)and increased neurotrophic astrocytes(positive to glial fibrillary acidic protein and S100 calcium-binding protein A10)also occurred in the substantia nigra.These effects followed the bilateral reduction inα-synuclein aggregates in the nigrostriatal system,improving sensorimotor behavior.Our results show that unilateral rNurr1-V5 transgene expression in nigral dopaminergic neurons mitigates bilateral neurodegeneration(senescence and loss of neuron-cytoskeleton and tyrosine hydroxylase-positive cells),neuroinflammation(activated microglia,neurotoxic astrocytes),α-synuclein aggregation,and sensorimotor deficits.Increased neurotrophic astrocytes and brain-derived neurotrophic factor can mediate t

Aim: To report a familial case of syndromic retinitis pigmentosa identified at Aristide Le Dantec Hospital in Dakar and to describe their clinical characteristics ophthalmic. Observation: We report a sibling group of nine children, four died at a young age from unknown causes. Three children were affected by retinitis pigmentosa, two cases were syndromic. A history of nyctalopia was found in all three affected children. The mean age of onset of decreased visual acuity was 6.6 years. Patient 1 affected by syndromic retinitis pigmentosa had an extraocular sign of cystic dilation of the main bile duct. Patient 2 had myoclonic epilepsy, psychomotor retardation, and the molar tooth sign on cerebral MRI (highly suggestive of Joubert syndrome). The third child had isolated retinitis pigmentosa. Ophthalmological examinations (fundus examination, electroretinogram, and visual evoked potentials) and pediatric examinations in the remaining two children were normal. Discussion and Conclusion: Retinitis pigmentosa is a rare degenerative disease that can be associated with several other malformations, highlighting the importance of screening for associated conditions. It presents a grim functional prognosis and a life prognosis dependent on extraocular manifestations. Molecular biology (karyotyping, next-generation sequencing) could have identified the implicated genes and allowed for a formal diagnosis and genetic counseling.

The history of Georgian writing starts much earlier than when Goethe introduced the term"Weltliteratur."It starts from the era of Christianity from the 4th century.Due to the fast spread of Christianity in the Early Medieval period,Georgia was already included in the European net of Christian writing.All branches of Christian spiritual literature were presented.Georgian culture and literature naturally were developing in the frame of the Western European tradition.The period of the 11th-12th centuries was a Golden Era for Georgia,and the heyday of fame for Georgian culture and literature as well.Precisely during this period,"The Knight in the Panther's Skin"was created by Shota Rustaveli.Apart from its aesthetic,philosophical,and worldview depth,it is a first text in Georgian literature as well as in European literature which reflects the clashing of two huge universes in Georgian culturethe West and the East.The Western principles are revealed in the Christian worldview of the text,in the way of thinking of the author and in its genre;however,the 12th century is already a period of strengthening of the influence of Eastern culture and literature in the European part of the Caucasus,and Rustaveli regards with obvious favor the Oriental poetic motifs.Unfortunately,at this stage of European literary history,Georgian literature was separated from the Western European literary process due to tragic political events.As for literature,it was a period of almost three centuries of silence.After the fall of Constantinople,Georgian literature had to move closer to the Eastern area as an historically offered alternative.From the 17th century,the process of the returning of Georgian political and cultural life back within the European frame had been started.Genuine Georgian writers were able to tie Georgian literature to the cultural models of European Classicism and the Enlightenment.

Objective:To summarize factors contributing to the resilience of nurses in caring for coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)patients.Methods:An integrative review was conducted according to the recommendations proposed by Whittemore and Knafl.Articles were searched through 8 electronic databases:Pub Med,Scopus,Clinical Key for Nursing,Pro Quest,Medline and Wiley Online Library,CINAHL,and Garuda,which are databases recommended by the Ministry of Education,Culture,Research,and Technology in Indonesia.Relevant ar ticles published in English and Indonesia between 2019 and 2022,being quantitative or qualitative theoreticalmethodological studies that analyzed or proposed factors to nurses’resilience in caring for COVID-19 patients,were included,whereas primary studies that used review as a methodology to review an object of research were excluded.Results:From the 17 ar ticles that were included in this study,3 factors were found that contributed to the resilience of nurses in caring for COVID-19 patients,namely personal factors,workplace/organizational factors,and social factors.Conclusions:Understanding factors related to nurses’resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic can contribute to meet nurses’resilience both physical y and psychologically.Good resilience of nurses during a pandemic is useful for improving nursing care services and patient safety,as well as for being able to avoid turnover intentions among nurses in pandemic time.

Tannery wastewater causes serious ecological and sanitary damage. Chemical analysis of water from Binlamdoune River of the medina of Fez was conducted and the results revealed the presence of toxic elements from tanneries and other industrial activities, which strongly affected water quality. To determine the effectiveness of bioremediation for depollution, we studied the abundance and diversity of bacteria residing in these polluted environments. Conducting denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis （PCR-DGGE） of the 16S rDNA area using primers related to bacteria showed a bacterial community belonging to eubacterial groups, that is, Epsilonproteobacteria, Clostridia, Lactobacillales, Bacteroidetes, Gammaproteobacteria, and Alphaproteobacteria. In addition, cloning displayed the presence of clones belonging to the Firmicutes group. Moreover, scanning electron microscopy revealed a significant heterogeneity of microorganism forms and structures. These endogenous microbes could have a significant role in the purification of Binlamdoune River and Fez tannery wastewater.

Ovarian cancer is the deadliest gynecological malignancy.It is typically diagnosed at advanced stages of the disease,with metastatic sites disseminated widely within the abdominal cavity.Ovarian cancer treatment is challenging due to high disease recurrence and further complicated pursuant to acquired chemoresistance.Cancer stem cell(CSC)theory proposes that both tumor development and progression are driven by undifferentiated stem cells capable of self-renewal and tumor-initiation.The most recent evidence revealed that CSCs in terms of ovarian cancer are not only responsible for primary tumor growth,metastasis and relapse of disease,but also for the development of chemoresistance.As the elimination of this cell population is critical for increasing treatment success,a deeper understanding of ovarian CSCs pathobiology,including epithelial-mesenchymal transition,signaling pathways and tumor microenvironment,is needed.Finally,before introducing new therapeutic agents for ovarian cancer,targeting CSCs,accurate identification of different ovarian stem cell subpopulations,including the very small embryoniclike stem cells suggested as progenitors,is necessary.To these ends,reliable markers of ovarian CSCs should be identified.In this review,we present the current knowledge and a critical discussion concerning ovarian CSCs and their clinical role.

In recent years,growing awareness of the role of oxidative stress in brain health has prompted antioxidants,especially dietary antioxidants,to receive growing attention as possible treatments strategies for patients with neurodegenerative diseases(NDs).The most widely studied dietary antioxidants include active substances such as vitamins,carotenoids,flavonoids and polyphenols.Dietary antioxidants are found in usually consumed foods such as fresh fruits,vegetables,nuts and oils and are gaining popularity due to recently growing awareness of their potential for preventive and protective agents against NDs,as well as their abundant natural sources,generally non-toxic nature,and ease of long-term consumption.This review article examines the role of oxidative stress in the development of NDs,explores the‘two-sidedness’of the blood-brain barrier(BBB)as a protective barrier to the nervous system and an impeding barrier to the use of antioxidants as drug medicinal products and/or dietary antioxidants supplements for prevention and therapy and reviews the BBB permeability of common dietary antioxidant suplements and their potential efficacy in the prevention and treatment of NDs.Finally,current challenges and future directions for the prevention and treatment of NDs using dietary antioxidants are discussed,and useful information on the prevention and treatment of NDs is provided.

The raccoon dog experienced an active introduction and acclimatization in the European part of Russia followed by its migration to and colonization in the neighboring countries. Eventually, it has spread rapidly into many European countries. probably invaded Lithuania from the neighboring countries of Belarus and Latvia where the species was introduced. However, the data on genetic diversity and population structure of the raccoon dogs in the recently invaded territories are still scarce. The objectives of this study were to investigate genetic diversity of in Lithuania after acclimatization, and to assess the impact of anthropogenic pressure on the formation of population structure. A total of 147 individuals collected from different regions of Lithuania were genotyped using 17 microsatellite markers. The microsatellite analysis of raccoon dogs indicated high levels of genetic diversity within the population. The Bayesian clustering analysis in STRUCTURE identified 4 genetic clusters among sampled raccoon dogs that could not reveal a clear separation between subpopulations. The widespread distribution of raccoon dogs in Lithuania, high level of genetic variation observed within subpopulations, and low level of variation portioned among subpopulations suggest migration and gene flow among locations. The significant correlation between genetic and geographic distances indicated isolation that reflected the distance between locations. The fencing of highways and very intensive traffic could be barriers to gene flow between the western and eastern sampling areas of raccoon dogs.
