There is a paradigm shift happening in automotive industry towards electric vehicles as environment and sustainability issues gainedmomentum in the recent years among potential *** and Autonomous Electric Vehicle(CAEV)technologies are fascinating the automakers and inducing them to manufacture connected autonomous vehicles with self-driving features such as autopilot and ***,Traffic Flow Prediction(TFP)is identified as a major issue in CAEV technologies which needs to be addressed with the help of Deep Learning(DL)*** this view,the current research paper presents an artificial intelligence-based parallel autoencoder for TFP,abbreviated as AIPAE-TFP model in *** presented model involves two major processes namely,feature engineering and *** feature engineering process,there are multiple stages involved such as feature construction,feature selection,and feature *** addition to the above,a support Vector Data Description(sVDD)model is also used in the filtration of anomaly points and smoothen the raw ***,AIPAE model is applied to determine the predictive values of traffic *** order to illustrate the proficiency of the model’s predictive outcomes,a set of simulations was performed and the results were investigated under distinct *** experimentation outcomes verified the effectual performance of the proposed AIPAE-TFP model over other methods.

Prey species may have their own optimal escape strategy to balance predation risks and the energetic cost of *** species have an advantage when maintaining a short fleeing distance,while others may favour an earlier escape based on microhabitat,size,or body ***,we examined the escape behaviour of the three syntopic Northeast Asian anuran species:Mongolian toads(strauchbufo raddei),Amur brown frogs(Rana amurensis),and Japanese treefrogs(Dryophytes japonicus)in Mongolia,Russia,China and DPR *** examined flight initiation distance(FID;the distance from a potential predator to the point when the individual starts to flee)and distance fled(DF;distance between flight initiation and flight termination points)of each species and the effects of microhabitat,sex,and body *** raddei and *** had a longer FID than ***,and *** also had a longer DF than *** trends remained similar when dividing FID and DF by a size proxy(snout-vent length)for all *** suggests that the treefrog *** used a strategy to stay immobile even when they were detected,and the toad *** reacted quicker and more sensitively to predators despite the presence of *** *** had a significantly longer FID than males suggesting that females are more sensitive to predation risk in this species,but body size was not significant for any of the three *** results indicate that the three sympatric species have different escaping strategies,likely related to differences in physiology and crypticity.

selection of shaped charges parameters for producing aluminum particles with velocities in the range of 2.5-16 km/s

Testing rocket and space technology objects in ground conditions for resistance to the impact of meteoroids and fragments of space debris can be carried out using shaped charges. To substantiate the design parameters of shaped charges that ensure the formation of aluminum particles in a wide velocity range(from 2.5 to 16 km/s), numerical modeling of the formation process was carried out within the framework of a two-dimensional axisymmetric problem of continuum mechanics using three different computing codes to increase the reliability of the results. The calculations consider shaped charges with a diameter of 20-100 mm with aluminum liners of various shapes. It is shown that the formation of particles with velocities close to the lower limit of the considered range is ensured by gently sloping segmental liners of degressive thickness. To form higher-velocity particles with velocities over 5 km/s, it is proposed to use combined liners, the jet-forming part of which has the shape of a hemisphere of constant thickness or the shape of a semi-ellipsoid or semi-superellipsoid of rotation of degressive thickness.

Impact of Clostridium difficile infection on inflammatory bowel disease outcome: A review

Although a considerable number of studies support a substantial increase in incidence, severity, and healthcare costs for Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), only few evaluate its impact on IBD outcome. Medline and several other electronic databases from January 1993 to October 2013 were searched in order to identify potentially relevant literature. Most of the studies showed that IBD patients with CDI present a greater proportion of worse outcomes than those without CDI. These patients have longer length of hospital stay, higher rates of colectomies, and increased mortality. Patients with ulcerative colitis are more susceptible to CDI and have more severe outcomes than those with Crohn’s disease. However, studies reported variable results in both short- and long-term outcomes. Contrasting results were also found between studies using nationwide data and those reporting from single-center, or between some North-American and European studies. An important limitation of all studies analyzed was their retrospective design. Due to contrasting data often provided by retrospective studies, further prospective multi-center studies are necessary to evaluate CDI impact on IBD outcome. Until then, a rapid diagnosis and adequate therapy of infection are of paramount importance to improve IBD patients’ outcome. The aim of this article is to provide up to date information regarding CDI impact on outcome in IBD patients.

Cationic Polymerization of Isobutylene and C4 Mixed Feed Using Complexes of Lewis Acids with Ethers: A Comparative study

The cationic polymerization of C4 mixed feed and isobutylene co-initiated by AlCl3xOiPr2,iBuAlC12xnOiPr2, and [emim]Cl- FeCl3xnOiPr2 ([emim]Cl: 1 -ethyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride) has been investigated. AlCl3xOiPr2 co-initiated cationic polymerization of C4 mixed feed proceeds at a lower rate than polymerization of isobutylene affording polymers with higher molecular weight. Complexes of iBuAlCh with di isopropyl ether of different compositions are more suitable co-initiators than AlCl3xOiPr2 for the synthesis of highly reactive polyisobutylene (HR PIB) from C4 mixed feed due to their higher activity in the polymerization as well as possibility to prepare polyisobutylenes with lower molecular weight and higher content of exo-olefin end groups. However, iBuA1C12 needs activating via addition of external water (initiator) and/or interaction with salts hydrates in order to increase the reaction rate and the saturated monomer conversion.[Emim]Cl-FeC13/iPr2O is a quite promising catalyst for the preparation of HR PIB with high exo-olefin end group content (> 80%) and relatively low polydispersity (Mw/Mn sonication of reaction mixture in case of using [emim]Cl-FeCh allowed increasing the reaction rate and decreasing the molecular weight.

Free vibration and transient response of double curved beams connected by intermediate straight beams

This paper investigates the free vibration and transient response of interconnected structures including double curved beams and intermediate straight beams,which are all constructed from functionally graded porous(FGP) materials. The strain potential and kinetic energies of each beam along with the work done by the external force are calculated. Additionally, a higher-order beam element is introduced to derive stiffness and mass matrices, along with the force vector. The curved and straight beams are discretized, and their assembled stiffness, mass matrices, and force vectors, are *** conditions at the joints are used to derive the total matrices of the entire structure. subsequently, the natural frequencies and transient response of the system are determined. The accuracy of the mathematical model and the self-developed computer program is validated through the comparison of the obtained results with those of the existing literature and commercial software ANsYs, demonstrating excellent ***, a comprehensive study is conducted to investigate the effects of various parameters on the free vibration and transient response of the considered structure.

Correlation between the results of three physical fitness tests(endurance,strength,speed) and the output measured during a bicycle ergometer test in a cohort of military servicemen

Background: Physical fitness tests are widely used to assess endurance,sprint ability,coordination and/or *** objective of the present study was to analyze the degree to which the results of the Bundeswehr Basis Fitness Test(BFT)–a physical fitness test comprising a sprint test(11×10-m shuttle test),a flexed-arm hang test and a 1000-m run–are consistent with the output measured during a bicycle ergometer *** number of false-positive and falsenegative results with regard to the assessment of physical fitness were also ***: As part of a retrospective study,health assessments from 323 reenlistment examinations were evaluated regarding the output measured during a bicycle ergometer test and compared with the BFT results of the ***: Overall,a good correlation was shown between the bicycle ergometer test results and the results achieved in the BFT *** three disciplines of the BFT showed a highly significant correlation with the relative output achieved during the bicycle ergometer test(Pso,the overall BFT score was highly significantly correlated(Pse-positive and false-negative results was 4.0%.Conclusion: The BFT results measured in the three physical fitness test items were highly correlated with the output measured during the bicycle ergometer *** rate of false-positive and false-negative results was *** test items thus represent an appropriate measurement instrument because the test items require few equipment and less ***,a large number of subjects can be *** suggest that it would be more useful to assess the physical fitness of this special group exclusively on the basis of the BFT instead of using the bicycle ergometer test.

Design and evaluation of PV-wind hybrid system with hydroelectric pumped storage on the National Power system of Egypt

National and international policies encourage increased penetration of solar and wind energy into electrical networks in order to reduce greenhouse gas emission. solar radiation and wind speed variations complicate the integration of wind and solar generation into power systems and delay the transition of these sources from centralized to distributed energy sources. The increased penetration of nontraditional energy sources into the electric grid stimulates the demand for large capacities in the field of energy storage. A mathematical model, which describes the operation of a proposed hybrid system, including solar PV, wind energy, and a pumped storage hydroelectric power plant is developed in this paper. This hydropower plant utilizes seawater as a lower reservoir, and only a tank has to be built in order to reduce the installation cost of the storing system. The pumped storage power plant used for compensation of the variation of the output energy from the PV and wind power plants by discharging water from the upper reservoir, which is previously pumped in the case of surplus energy from PV and wind turbine power plants. The impact of the proposed system on the grid utility is investigated in accordance with the values of energy exchange(deficits and surpluses of energy) between the considered hybrid system and the grid. The optimum design is determined by the pump and turbine capacities, upper reservoir volume, and the volume of water left in the tank for emergencies. Different scenarios of the optimum operations are presented for analysis. The results obtained from the examined scenarios indicate the ability of such a hybrid energy system to reduce the exchange of energy with the grid. This paper indicates the technical feasibility of seawater pumpedstorage hydropower plant for increasing the Egyptian national grid’s ability to accept high integration of renewable energy sources.

Mesoporous fibrous silicon nitride by catalytic nitridation of silicon

The catalytic effect of metal oxide/alumina whiskers（CeO;, Mn;O;, NiO, Co;O;, Fe;O;, Cr;O;/AW） was evaluated on their ability to drive the nitridation of silicon and to generate mesoporous fibrous silicon *** powder with different particles size along with the catalyst was nitridized at 1300 °C for 5 h in nitrogen and nitrogen diluted with 10 vol% ammonia atmospheres. Nitridation degree of silicon up to 99% was recorded using 1.5 wt% CeO;and Fe;O;catalysts in nitrogen-ammonia atmosphere. The catalyzed samples contain submicronic silicon nitride fibres with a diameter of 400–500 nm and a length of up to few micrometers. The compressive strength of 46 ± 1 MPa was measured for silicon samples catalyzed with nickel oxide/alumina whiskers and nitridized in N;/10 vol%NH;atmosphere. Porous silicon nitride networks were produced with 45–52% porosity, pore sizes in the range of 370–1200 nm and median pore in the range of 495–1655 nm.
