Synthesis of sulfonated Sesamum indicum *** oil and its application as a fatliquor in leather processing

Fatliquor is an oil-in-water emulsion that improves the physical properties of leather such as tensile strength,flexibility,and softness by lubricating the leather *** Sesamum indicum oil was synthesized,characterized,and examined for consideration as a substitute for imported fatliquor in *** sulfonation of the oil was confirmed by the significant observations made in the FTIR,1 H nMR,13 C nMR,and 13 C nMR DEPT analysis results.A remarkable difference was observed in the physicochemical properties results of both unsulfonated and sulfonated *** sulfonated sesame fatliquor was applied onto goatskin and compared with a commercial sulfated fatliquor in the processing of shoe upper leather using standard *** average results for tensile strength,double edge tear,elongation,and softness results for the commercial and synthesized fatliquors are as follows:14.27 n/mm^(2);13.77 n/mm^(2),50.61n;60.11 n,38.06%;54.28%,25.2;25.0.A comparable level of lubrication of the leather treated with the sulfonated Sesamum indicum oil and that treated with the commercial leather fatliquor was revealed by the Sudan IV stain test as well as scanning electron microscopy analysis *** analyses,therefore,show that the as-synthesized sulfonated Sesamum indicum oil could be considered as a substitute for imported fatliquor in the leather industry.

Bed-load transport plays a critical role in river morphological change and has an important impact on river *** there is good understanding of the role of the variation of river bed grain size on transport dynamics in equilibrium conditions,much less is understood for non-equilibrium conditions when the channel is either aggrading or *** particular,the relative role of different grain sizes in the promotion and hindering of the transport of coarse and fine fractions in a degrading channel has yet to be *** current study attempts to provide new understanding through a series of flume experiments done using uniform and graded sediment *** experiments revealed coarser grain-size fractions for a poorly-sorted sediment,relative to uniform-sized sediment,reduced the transport of finer grains and finer fractions enhanced the transport of coarse *** hinderingpromotion effect,caused by relative hiding and exposure of finer and coarse fractions,increased with bed slope and decreased with relative *** particular,as relative submergence increased,the graded fractions tended towards behaving more like their unifo rm-sized ***,the bed-load parameter of the graded fractions increased more with a rise in bed slope than observed for the uniformsized *** results revealed,for degrading channel conditions,such as downstream of a dam,bed-load equations developed for uniform bed sediment are inappropriate for use in natural river systems,particularly in mountain ***,changes in river bed composition due to activities that enhance the input of hill-slope sediment,such as fire,logging,and agricultural development,are likely to cause significant changes in river morphology.

The widespread uptake of different machine perfusion(MP)strategies for liver transplant has been driven by an effort to minimize graft *** to the cholangiocytes during the liver donation,preservation,or early posttransplant period may result in stricturing of the biliary tree and inadequate biliary *** problem continues to trouble clinicians,and may have catastrophic consequences for the graft and *** injury,as a result of compromised hepatic artery flow,is a well-known cause of biliary strictures,sepsis,and graft ***,very similar lesions can appear with a patent hepatic artery and these are known as ischemic type biliary lesions(ITBL)that are attributed to microcirculatory dysfunction rather than main hepatic arterial *** the warm and cold ischemic period duration appear to influence the onset of *** of the commonly used MP techniques deliver oxygen to the graft cells,and therefore may minimize the cholangiocyte injury and subsequently reduce the incidence of *** clinical experience and published evidence grows for these modalities,the impact they have on ITBL rates is important to *** this review,the evidence for the three commonly used MP strategies(abdominal normothermic regional perfusion[A-nRP],hypothermic oxygenated perfusion[HOPE],and normothermic machine perfusion[nMP])for ITBL prevention has been critically *** with ITBL definitions used in trials,coupled with variations in techniques of MP,make interpretation ***,the evidence suggests that both HOPE and A-nRP prevent ITBL in donated after circulatory death grafts compared to cold *** evidence for ITBL prevention in donor after brain death grafts with any MP technique is weak.

Microbial electrochemical technologies have been extensively employed for phenol ***,previous research has yielded inconsistent results,leaving uncertainties regarding the feasibility of phenol degradation under strictly anaerobic conditions using anodes as sole terminal electron *** this study,we employed high-performance liquid chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry to investigate the anaerobic phenol degradation *** findings provide robust evidence for the purely anaerobic degradation of phenol,as we identified benzoic acid,4-hydroxybenzoic acid,glutaric acid,and other metabolites of this ***,no typical intermediates of the aerobic phenol degradation pathway were ***-chamber reactors(t0.4 V ***)exhibited a phenol removal rate of 3.5±0.2 mg L^(-1) d^(-1),while two-chamber reactors showed 3.6±0.1 and 2.6±0.9 mg L^(-1) d^(-1) at anode potentials of t0.4 and t 0.2 V,*** results also suggest that the reactor configuration certainly influenced the microbial community,presumably leading to different ratios of phenol consumers and microorganisms feeding on degradation products.

The Upper Devonian,Middle Famennian Dankovo-Lebedyansky sediments in Southeast Tatarstan territory are a carbonate sequence composed of limestone and dolomite,which is important hydrocarbon reservoir units,therefore,it is necessary to conduct in-depth study on its microfacies and depositional *** this study,a multidisciplinary approach that combines core observation with thin section examination is *** limestone contains abundant skeletal grains(echinoderms,foraminifera,algae,gastropods,and calcispheres),as well as non-skeletal grains(intraclasts and peloids).On the basis of detailed petrographic investigations,six sedimentary microfacies can be identified,including(i)peloidal grainstone(MF 1),(ii)cemented bioclastic peloidal grainstone(MF 2),(iii)echinodermconcentrated packstone(MF 3),(iv)algae packstone(MF 4),(v)bioclastic wackestone(MF 5),(vi)whole-fossil wackestone(MF 6),as well as dolomite or dolostone as diagenetic facies(MF 7).Based on microfacies analysis,the Dankovo-Lebedyansky sediments were deposited in three distinct sedimentary facies belts(shoal,lagoon and open marine environment).In order to reflect dispositional energy condition,the microfacies were grouped into facies associations:(i)low-energy microfacies associations including MF 5 and MF 6,(ii)moderate energy microfacies associations including MF 1,MF 2,MF 3,and MF *** dolomite,or diagenetic facies(MF 7),is the result of slightly to extensively dolomitization of limestone in the Dankovo-Lebedyansky *** of frequent dolostone types are euhedral planar-e and subhedral *** to petrographic characteristic of the dolostone,a seepage reflux model can be used to explain the dolomitization process of Dankovo-Lebedyansky sediments.

AIM:To evaluate impact of radiation therapy dose escalation through intensity modulated radiation therapy with simultaneous integrated boost(IMRT-SIB).METHODS:We retrospectively reviewed the patients who underwent four-dimensional-based IMRT-SIBbased neoadjuvant chemoradiation *** the concurrent chemoradiation therapy,radiation therapy was through IMRT-SIB delivered in 28 consecutive daily fractions with total radiation doses of 56 Gy to tumor and 5040 Gy dose-painted to clinical tumor volume,with a regimen at the discretion of the treating medical *** was followed by surgical tumor *** analyzed pathological completion response(p CR) rates its relationship with overall survival and ***:Seventeen patients underwent dose escalation with the IMRT-SIB protocol between 2007 and 2014 and their records were available for *** the IMRT-SIB-treated patients,the toxicity appeared mild,the most common side effects were grade 1-3 esophagitis(46%) and pneumonitis(11.7%).There were no cardiac *** Ro resection rate was 94%(n = 16),the p CR rate was 47%(n = 8),and the postoperative morbidity was *** was one mediastinal failure found,one patient had local failure at the anastomosis site,and the majority of failures were distant in the lung or *** 3-year diseasefree survival and overall survival rates were 41%(n = 7) and 53%(n = 9),***:The dose escalation through IMRT-SIB in the chemoradiation regimen seems responsible for down-staging the distal esophageal with well-tolerated complications.

Even in cases where viral replication has been controlled by antiretroviral therapy for long periods of time, human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)-infected patients have several non-acquired immunodeficiency syndrome(AIDS) related co-morbidities, including liver disease, cardiovascular disease and neurocognitive decline, which have a clear impact on survival. It has been considered that persistent innate and acquired immune activation contributes to the pathogenesis of these non-AIDS related diseases. Immune activation has been related with several conditions, remarkably with the bacterial translocation related with the intestinal barrier damage by the HIV or by hepatitis C virus(HCV)-related liver cirrhosis. Consequently, increased morbidity and mortality must be expected in HIV-HCV coinfected patients. Disrupted gut barrier lead to an increased passage of microbial products and to an activation of the mucosal immune system and secretion of inflammatory mediators, which in turn might increase barrier dysfunction. In the present review, the intestinal barrier structure, measures of intestinal barrier dysfunction and the modifications of them in HIV monoinfection and in HIV-HCV coinfection will be considered. Both pathogenesis and the consequences for the progression of liver disease secondary to gut microbial fragment leakage and immune activation will be assessed.

Phloem plays a fundamental role in plants by transporting hormones,nutrients,proteins,RnAs,and carbohydrates essential for plant growth and ***,the identity of the underlying phloem genes and pathways remain enigmatic especially in agriculturally important perennial crops,in part,due to the technical difficulty of phloem ***,we used two phloem-specific promoters and a translating ribosome affinity purification(TRAP)strategy to characterize the phloem translatome during leaf development at 2,4,and 6 weeks post vernalization in plum(Prunus domestica L.).Results provide insight into the changing phloem processes that occur during leaf *** processes included the early activation of DnA replication genes that are likely involved in phloem cell division during leaf expansion,as well as the upregulation of phloem genes associated with sink to source conversion,induction of defense processes,and signaling for *** these results reveal the dynamics of phloem gene expression during leaf development and establish the TRAP system as a powerful tool for studying phloem-specific functions and responses in trees.

本文对选择性激光熔化的17-4 PH不锈钢进行了参数化研究和表征。通过改变工艺参数包括激光功率和扫描速度以及扫描方式(设计参数)来研究试样的相对密度和显微硬度的变化。当使用中等能量密度和内外六角扫描方式时,试样的相对密和显微硬度最大;当使用低能量密度和交替带状扫描方式时,试样的相对密和显微硬度最小。在光学和扫描电子显微组织中,试样侧面有奥氏体、铁素体和小熔池。能量色散光谱分析表明,试样的化学成分变化导致相对密度和显微硬度发生变化。X射线衍射结果表明,中等能量密度试样的奥氏体相和铁素体峰强度最高。背散射电子衍射结果表明,随着能量密度的增加,奥氏体相增加,导致试样的显微硬度变化。相比于中等能密度试样,低能量密度试样易诱发更多的残余应力。采用不同能量密度得到的样品都具有较强的耐蚀性(0.05 mm/a),未出现明显的腐蚀裂纹。
