Immunoglobulin G(IgG)is the most abundant plasma glycoprotein and a prominent humoral immune *** composition affects the affinity of IgG to ligands and consequent immune *** modification of IgG N-glycosylation is considered to be one of the various mechanisms by which sex hormones modulate the immune *** the menstrual cycle is the central sex hormonerelated physiological process in most women of reproductive age,IgG N-glycosylation dynamics during the menstrual cycle have not yet been *** fill this gap,we profiled the plasma IgG Nglycans of 70 healthy premenopausal women at 12 time points during their menstrual cycles(every 7 days for 3 months)using hydrophilic interaction ultra-performance liquid chromatography(HILIC-UPLC).We observed cyclic periodic changes in the N-glycosylation of IgG in association with the menstrual cycle phase and sex hormone concentration in *** the integrated cohort level,the modeled average menstrual cycle effect on the abundance of IgG N-glycosylation traits was low for each trait,with the highest being 1.1%for agalactosylated ***,intrapersonal changes were relatively high in some cases;for example,the largest difference between the minimum and maximum values during the menstrual cycle was up to 21%for sialylated *** all measurements,the menstrual cycle phase could explain up to 0.72%of the variation in the abundance of a single IgG glycosylation trait of *** contrast,up to 99%of the variation in the abundance of digalactosylation could be attributed to interpersonal differences in IgG *** conclusion,the average extent of changes in the IgG N-glycopattern that occur during the menstrual cycle is small;thus,the IgG N-glycoprofiling of women in large sample-size studies can be performed regardless of menstrual cycle phase.

Combination therapy for retinopathy of prematurity

Despite a large variety of processes that can control Mo and its potential to become an environmental tracer of euxinic environment, this element is not often studied in lakes. The aim of this paper is to identify main seasonal biogeochemical processes that involve Mo in a well constrained freshwater system (Lake Pavin water-column) in order to evaluate their respective importance. In Lake Pavin, 4 main processes have been identified: 1) the transitional process represented by Mo assimilation of by phytoplankton in the epilimnion (nitrogen biological fixation and nitrate assimilation);2) transient process represented by dissolved Mo adsorption onto Fe and Mn metal oxides at oxic/anoxic interface (depth 50 - 60 m);3) Mo precipitation where apparent sulfide production rate is maximum, and from 80 m depths;4) release of dissolved Mo due to Mo benthic flux or input from a deep source.

The essential role of immunoglobulin G(IgG)in immune system regulation and combatting infectious diseases cannot be fully recognized without an understanding of the changes in its N-glycans attached to the asparagine 297 of the fragment crystallizable(Fc)domain that occur under such *** glycans impact the antibody stability,half-life,secretion,immunogenicity,and effector ***,in this study,we analyzed and compared the total IgG glycome—at the level of individual glycan structures and derived glycosylation traits(sialylation,galactosylation,fucosylation,and bisecting Nacetylglucosamine(GlcNAc))—of 64 patients with influenza,77 patients with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),and 56 healthy *** study revealed a significant decrease in IgG galactosylation,sialylation,and bisecting GlcNAc(where the latter shows the most significant decrease)in deceased COVID19 patients,whereas IgG fucosylation was *** the other hand,IgG galactosylation remained stable in influenza patients and COVID-19 *** glycosylation in influenza patients was more time-dependent:In the first seven days of the disease,sialylation increased and fucosylation and bisecting GlcNAc decreased;in the next 21 days,sialylation decreased and fucosylation increased(while bisecting GlcNAc remained stable).The similarity of IgG glycosylation changes in COVID-19 survivors and influenza patients may be the consequence of an adequate immune response to enveloped viruses,while the observed changes in deceased COVID-19 patients may indicate its deviation.

Zoonoses represent a problem of rising importance in the transplant population.A close relationship and changes between human,animal and environmental health(“One Health”concept)significantly influence the transmission and distribution of zoonotic *** aim of this manuscript is to perform a narrative review of the published literature on emerging and neglected zoonoses in the transplant *** reports on donor-derived or naturally acquired(re-)emerging arboviral infections such as dengue,chikungunya,West Nile,tick-borne encephalitis and zika virus infection have demonstrated atypical or more complicated clinical course in immunocompromised *** E virus has emerged as a serious problem after solid organ transplantation(SOT),leading to diverse extrahepatic manifestations and chronic hepatitis with unfavorable *** neglected pathogens such as lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus can cause severe infection with multi-organ failure and high *** addition,ehrlichiosis may be more severe with higher casefatality rates in SOT *** unusual or severe presentations of borreliosis,anaplasmosis and rickettsioses were also reported among transplant ***,toxoplasmosis as infectious complication is a well-recognized zoonosis in this *** rabies transmission through SOT transplantation has rarely been reported,it has become a notable problem in some *** the spreading trends of zoonoses are likely to continue,the awareness,recognition and treatment of zoonotic infections among transplant professionals should be imperative.

Introduction: Literature reveals several peritoneal dialysis laparoscopic catheter insertion techniques developed to improve long-term results for treatment chronic kidney failure with the technic of peritoneal dialysis. The purpose of the study is evaluation of developed and recommended minimally invasive laparoscopic technic for chronic peritoneal dialysis catheter placement using specially constructed trocar. Materials and Methods: retrospective study included 804 patients in 10 departments of surgery. Surgical and non surgical complications related to PD catheter placement were analysed: bleeding, dialysate leak, early SSI, peritonitis, catheter tip migration, catheter obstruction, omental wrapping and visceral perforations. Available software (Microsoft? Excel for Windows 10, MedCalc, Mariakerke, Belgium) was used for statistical analysis (presented as percentages, mean ± SD or median). Conclusions: The presented technique with specially constructed trocar is a simple and effective procedure with fewer complications comparing to literature. The advantages of this method include long rectus sheath tunnel with the deep cuff placed pre-peritoneally, the small size of the entrance into the peritoneum and accurate position and control of catheter tip in the pelvis.
