Significant investments have been made by educational institutions as well as parents and students purchasing computers and laptops on the pretence that this equipment is as much part of the teaching and learning environment as are pens,books and *** issue as to the ‘impact’ of this new innovation upon educational practices has generated mixed *** at all levels of the education sector are now using （and being expected to use） computers and laptops in their *** order to assess the affect of computers/laptops on the dynamics of the teaching and learning environment a questionnaire was circulated to teachers currently undertaking a Masters in Education degree programme in order to gather teachers opinions and experiences regarding the use of computers and laptops in their *** results reveal that teachers in the United Arab Emirates （UAE） in both the public and private sector,that had been educated in various parts of the world,were able to identify key issues pertaining to the advantages and disadvantages to the use of technology in their *** concerns regarding the lack of suitable training in how to deal with and manage the technology from a pedagogical perspective were raised as well as the issue of teaching strategies that would enable suitable technology based classroom management practices.

Determination of the mechanical properties(rupture force,deformation,hardness,and toughness)of maize grain could be a significant concern for designing the harvester,thresher,and handling,processing,and storage ***,the present research was conducted to assess the vertical and lateral rupture force,deformation,hardness,and toughness of maize grain(Beijing Denong,Lianchuang,Suyu 20,Liyu 88 and Suyu 29)influenced by different moisture contents(11.2%,17.5%,and 21.3%)and compressive loading speeds(5,10,15,20,and 25 mm/min,respectively).Besides,the mean length,width,thickness,geometric mean diameter,equivalent diameter,arithmetic diameter,sphericity,grain volume,surface area,and aspect ratio of the selected varieties were *** results showed that the highest length,width,thickness and sphericity,grain volume,surface area,and aspect ratio were obtained at moisture of 21.3%,whereas the lowest was at 11.2%.Moreover,it was observed that as increasing the loading speed from 5 to 25 mm/min,the vertical and lateral rupture forces ***,as increasing moisture contents from 11.2%to 21.3%,the vertical and lateral rupture forces,hardness,and toughness decreased ***,the maximum correlation(R2=0.9957)between rupture force and loading speed was found for Liyu 88 at moisture of 17.5%and minimum correlation(R2=0.7002)was found for Suyu 29 at moisture of 11.2%.Moreover,the highest lateral and vertical rupture force was noticed(p<0.05)at a loading speed of 5 mm/*** on the experimentally obtained results,it was concluded that the properties of maize grain evaluated were relevant to the design of planter,harvesters,thrashers,and processing machine.

AIM: To evaluate the effect of Ocimum sanctum leaf extract on the dietary supplementation in the transgenic Drosophila model of Parkinson's disease. METHOD: The effect of Ocimum sanctum leaf extract was studied on the transgenic Drosophila model of flies expressing normal human alpha synuclein(h-αs) in the neurons. O. sanctum extract at final concentrations of 0.042 8 × 10-4, 0.87 × 10-4, and 1.85 × 10-4 g·mL-1 of diet were established and the flies were allowed to feed for 21 days. The climbing assay and lipid peroxidation were taken as parameters for the study. RESULTS: The supplementation of O. sanctum extract showed a dose-dependent significant delay in the loss of climbing ability and reduction in oxidative stress in the brain of PD model flies. CONCLUSION: The results of the present study showed that the O. sanctum extract is potent in reducing the PD symptoms in transgenic Drosophila model.

With the growing concern about the security and privacy of smart grid systems,cyberattacks on critical power grid components,such as state estimation,have proven to be one of the top-priority cyber-related issues and have received significant attention in recent ***,cyberattack detection in smart grids now faces new challenges,including privacy preservation and decentralized power zones with strategic data *** address these technical bottlenecks,this paper proposes a novel Federated Learning-based privacy-preserving and communication-efficient attack detection framework,known as FedDiSC,that enables Discrimination between power System disturbances and ***,we first propose a Federated Learning approach to enable Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition subsystems of decentralized power grid zones to collaboratively train an attack detection model without sharing sensitive power related ***,we put forward a representation learning-based Deep Auto-Encoder network to accurately detect power system and cybersecurity ***,to adapt our proposed framework to the timeliness of real-world cyberattack detection in SGs,we leverage the use of a gradient privacy-preserving quantization scheme known as DP-SIGNSGD to improve its communication *** simulations of the proposed framework on publicly available Industrial Control Systems datasets demonstrate that the proposed framework can achieve superior detection accuracy while preserving the privacy of sensitive power grid related ***,we find that the gradient quantization scheme utilized improves communication efficiency by 40%when compared to a traditional federated learning approach without gradient quantization which suggests suitability in a real-world scenario.

A comparative study of Cannabis sativa(Hemp)essential constituents obtained by using Supercritical Fluid Extraction(SCFE),Steam Distillation(SD)and Hydrodistillation(HD)is presented *** optimized extraction temperatures were 130,110and 50℃for hydrodistillation,steam distillation and supercritical fluid extraction *** essential oil of *** was analyzed by using Gas chromatography mass spectrometry(GC-MS).A total of 33,30and 31components have been identified in HD,SD and SCFE *** of essential oil using SCFE(0.039%)was more than HD(0.025%)and SD(0.035%)extraction *** main component of sesquiterpenes obtained by hydrodistillation at 130℃with their percentages included caryophyllene(40.58%),trans-α-bergamotene(5.41%),humulene(10.97%),cis-β-farnesene(8.53%)and monoterpenes includedα-pinene(2.13%),d-limonene(6.46%),p-cymol(0.65%)and cineole(2.58%)*** main component of sesquiterpenes obtained by SD steam distillation at110℃including caryophyllene(38.60%)trans-α-bergamotene(4.22%),humulene(10.26%),cis-β-farnesene(6.67%)and monoterpenes includedα-pinene(3.21%),d-limonene(7.07%),p-cymol(2.59%)and cineole(3.88%)whereas the more percentages of major components were obtained by SCFE at 50℃included caryophyllene(44.31%),trans-α-bergamotene(6.79%),humulene(11.97%)cis-β-farnesene(9.71%)and monoterpenes includedα-pinene(0.45%),d-limonene(2.13%)p-cymol(0.19%)and cineole(1.38%)*** found yield/efficiency,chemical composition,quality of the essential oils by supercritical fluid extraction superior in terms of modern,green,saving energy and a rapid approach as compared to traditional techniques.

Background:To investigate the topographic measurements and densitometry of corneas in Wilson’s disease(WD)patients with or without a Kayser-Fleischer ring(KF-r)compared to healthy ***:This cross-sectional study included 20 WD patients without a KF-r(group I),18 WD patients with a KF-r(group II),and 20 age-matched controls(group III).The Pentacam high resolution imaging system is used to determine corneal topographic measurements and ***:Mean age for groups I,II and III was 25.40±6.43 years(14-36 years),25.38±6.96 years(16-39 years),23.60±6.56 years(17-35 years),respectively(P=0.623).There was no significant difference between the groups in terms of the anterior corneal densitometry values(P>0.05),while the 6-10mm and 10-12 mm mid stroma and the 2-6 mm,6-10 mm,and 10-12 mm posterior corneal densitometry values in group II were significantly higher than those in groups I and III(for all values,P<0.05).However,the 10-12mm posterior corneal densitometry values in group I were also significantly higher than those in group III(P=0.038).The central corneal thickness(CCT),thinnest corneal thickness(tCT),and corneal volume(CV)values in groups I and II were significantly lower than those in group III(for CCT values,P=0.011 and P=0.009;for tCT values,P=0.010 and P=0.005;for CV values,P=0.043 and P=0.029).Conclusion:In WD patients with a KF-r,corneal transparency decreased in the peripheral posterior and mid stromal corneal layers;for these patients,corneal transparency may be impaired not only in the peripheral cornea but also in the paracentral cornea.

The effect of depositional facies and diagenesis on the reservoir potential of the Sakesar Limestone has been assessed through core plug porosity and permeability data， scanning electron microscope (SEM)， and petrographic study in three stratigraphic sections (Karuli， Badshah Pur， and Sardhai) of Central Salt Range. Field observations revealed three lithofacies: thin-bedded limestone with shale intercalation， thick-bedded nodular limestone， and highly fractured limestone. Based on a petrographic study， six microfacies have been identified: Bioclastic Mudstone Facies (SKF-1)， Lockhartia-Nummulitic Wackestone Facies (SKF-2)， Assilina-Alveolina Packstone Facies (SKF-3)， Lockhartia-Nummulitic Packstone Facies (SKF-4)， Alveolina Grainstone Facies (SKF-5)， and Nummulitic Grainstone Facies (SKF-6). The Sakesar Limestone shows various diagenetic changes such as compaction， dissolution， dolomitization， cementation， and fracturing， resulting in different types of pores. Two reservoir zones are identified in the Sakesar Limestone: a mud-dominated reservoir in an outer ramp setting with interparticle and micropores and a bioclastic grain-dominated facies in an inner ramp setting with intraskeletal and fracture porosity. The porosity and permeability of grain-dominated facies (8-30% and 0.8-8 mD) are higher than mud-dominated facies (4-15% and 0.5-4 mD) due to intraskeletal/intraparticle pores and dolomitization.

Ozone(O) gas is the triatomic state of oxygen and it is used as a disinfection agent due to its strong oxidizing effect, since its discovery in the mid-nineteenth century. Ozone therapy is also an alternative therapeutic approach for some diseases like circulatory disorders, AIDS, asthma, cardiovascular diseases, and certain types of cancer by increasing the oxygen levels in the blood by external addition of ozone to the body. In this study, the therapeutic potential of ozone therapy was examined by inhibiting the growth of breast cancer cells in a dose-dependent procedure. Ozone concentrations varying from 5 to 20 μg/ml were applied to the MDA-MB-231, human breast adenocarcinoma and HUVEC, human umbilical vein endothelium, cell lines, and MDA cells demonstrated an increased rate of death while its migration potential decreases. RT-PCR analysis showed mRNA expression levels of pro-apoptotic genes demonstrated higher folds in MDA cells after 10 μg/ml treatment. In the same context,Annexin V/PI and cell cycle analysis also concluded that ozone therapy causes apoptotic cell death on breast tumor cells. The use of ozone therapy for cancer treatment requires further and extensive research. However, this research has shown that ozone therapy is a promising source for cancer treatment in a way by inhibiting the proliferation of breast tumor cells.
