The intragastrointestinal fate of paclitaxel-loaded micelles:Implications on oral drug delivery

The goal of the present study is to elucidate the intragastrointestinal fate of micellar delivery systems by monitoring fluorescently labeled different micelles and the model drug paclitaxel(PTX).Both in vitro and ex vivo leakage studies showed fast PTX release in fluids while micelles remained intact,except in fedstate simulated intestinal fluid and fasted-state pig intestinal fluid,thus referring to the intact absorption of micelles and PTX leakage in the gastrointestinal tract with D-a-tocopherol polyethylene glycol 1000 succinate(TPGS)micelles showing higher stability than other *** groups of micelles were absorbed intact in Caco-2 and Caco-2/HT29-MTX cell models and the absorption of TPGS micelles was found to be higher than other *** transport of the micelles across Caco-2/Raji(1.6%-3.5%),Caco-2(0.8%-1%),and Caco-2/HT29-MTX(0.58%-1%)cell monolayers further verified the absorption of micelles and their subsequent transport;however,more TPGS micelles transported across cell monolayers than other ***,the histological examination also confirmed that micelles ente red the enterocytes and were transported to basolateral tissues and TPGS showed the stronger ability of penetration than other ***,these results are succinctly presenting the absorption of intact micelles in GIT confirmed by imaging evidence with prior leakage of the drug,upta ke by enterocytes and the transport of micelles that survive the digestion by enterocytes and mainly by microfold cells in material nature dependent way with TPGS showing better results than other *** conclusion,these results identify the mechanism by which the gastrointestinal tract processes micelles and point to the likely use of this approach in the design of micelles-based therapies.

Biosorption characteristics of unicellular green alga Chlorella sorokiniana immobilized in loofa sponge for removal of Cr(Ⅲ)

Loofa sponge （LS） immobilized biomass of Chlorella sorokiniana （LSIBCS）, isolated from industrial wastewater, was investigated as a new biosorbent for the removal of Cr（Ⅲ） from aqueous solution. A comparison of the biosorption of Cr（Ⅲ） by LSIBCS and free biomass of C. sorokiniana （FBCS） from 10-300 mg Cr（Ⅲ）/L aqueous solutions showed an increase in uptake of 17.79% when the microalgal biomass was immobilized onto loofa sponge. Maximum biosorption capacity for LSIBCS and FBCS was found to be 69.26 and 58.80 mg Cr（Ⅲ）/g biosorbent, respectively, whereas the amount of Cr（Ⅲ） ions adsorbed onto naked LS was 4.97 mg/g. The kinetics of Cr（Ⅲ） biosorption was extremely rapid and equilibrium was established in about 15 and 20 min by LSIBCS and FBCS, respectively. The biosorption equilibrium was well defined by Langmuir adsorption isotherm model. The biosorption kinetics followed the pseudo-second order kinetic model. The biosorption was found to be pH dependent and the maximum sorption occurred at the solution pH 4.0. Desorption studies showed that 98% of the adsorbed Cr（Ⅲ） could be desorbed with 0.1 mol/L HNO3, while other desorbing agents were less effective in the order： EDTA 〉 H2SO4 〉 CH3COOH 〉 HCl. The regenerated LSIBCS retained 92.68% of the initial Cr（Ⅲ） binding capacity up to five cycles of reuse in continuous flow-fixed bed columns. The study revealed that LSIBCS could be used as an effective biosorbent for the removal of Cr（Ⅲ） from wastewater.

Sedimentation retention basin utilization for best management practice

Approaches to the artificial impoundment and theoretical design of sedimentation retention basin are reviewed with particular attention to best management practice(BMP) to control agriculture and surface runoff. Sediments retention basins are the small version of farm pond used where a criteria of farm pond is not met. Such basin traps the pollutants and suspended solids prior to entry into streams and lakes. The study is focused with special reference to the assessment and control of non point source pollution(NPSP) from the sub basin area of Tai Lake in the Xishan County of Wuxi City of China. The author suggested two different approaches to conduct this study including theoretical design for sedimentation retention basin and computation of flow, sediment transport and deposition during the artificial impoundment of retention basin for BMP's utilization. Theoretical design will provide a useful function as a first line defense against the movement of sediments and transport of pollutants into the Tai Lake while the assessment of sediments deposition will help to make its proper use and periodic cleanup.

2Hydroxy1,4napthoquinone(lawsone)natural redorange dye was extracted from fresh henna(Lawsonia inermis)leaves in an alkaline *** lawsonesurfactant solubilization constants(KLS)were calculated for the first time by using cationic cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB)and anionic sodium dodecyl sulphate(SDS).The standard free energy,concentration of solubilized lawsone and number of lawsone molecules solubilized into micelles were calculated and *** excess,minimum surface area per molecule,surface pressure,free energy(adsorption and aggregation)and equilibrium constants of different states were determined from *** metal ions(Ag^(+),Co^(2+),Cu^(2+),Ni^(2+),Fe^(3+),Zn^(2+)and Al^(3+)were used to determine the complex forming ability with *** of these,Ag+ions have strong binding capacity with *** adsorption of lawsone on the surface of glass with silver ions in presence of CTAB was also observed at pH>*** pseudofirst,secondorder kinetic equation,intraparticles diffusion and Elovich models were used to determine the kinetics of lawsone adsorption onto the surface of glass and a probable mechanism has been *** adsorption followed secondorder kinetic equation(k_(2)=0.019 g·mg^(1)·min^(1)).

Dimeric quinacridone cyclophanes: Synthesis,structures,and photophysical properties

Two novel quinacridone (QA) cyclophanes with intrinsic intramolecular dye-dye interactions have been designed and synthesized.X-ray crystal structures as well as detailed photophysical properties have been well *** two dyes have a major advantage that efficient fluorescence quenching can be observed even in their dilute solutions.A comparison of photophysical properties between the dimeric QA cyclophane and its reference monomeric counterpart indicates that the dimerization is predominant for the fluorescence quenching of QA dyes in *** study provided some model QA derivatives with dimeric structures for understanding the fluorescence quenching of QA dyes in solutions.

Heat Transfer Analysis of MHD Power Law Nano Fluid Flow through Annular Sector Duct

Minor alloying plays an important role in the synthesis and improvement of thermal stability of bulk metallic glasses（BMGs）.The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of minor additions of Y,Ti and Nb on the crystallization behavior and the thermal properties of Zr64.5Ni15.5Al11.5Cu8.5 *** parameters and the activation energies for crystallization were calculated for four（Zr0.645Ni0.155Al0.115-Cu0.085）100-xMx（M=Y,Ti and Nb,while x=0,2 at.） *** present alloys have wide supercooled liquid region of ≥87 *** activation energy was found to be greater than 300 kJ/mol for the base *** crystalline phases were identified in the samples annealed at 823 K for 20 *** glass transition temperature（Trg） and other thermal parameters such as γ,δ and β were improved by Y and Ti *** addition resists crystallization below annealing temperature 713 K,however,its effect on thermal properties is not very promising.

Comprehensive analysis of relativistic embedded class-I exponential compact spheres in f(R,φ)gravity via Karmarkar condition

In this article,we use the prominent Karmarkar condition to investigate some novel features of astronomical objects in the f(R,φ)gravity;R andφrepresent the Ricci curvature and the scalar field,*** is worth noting that we classify the exclusive set of modified field equations using the exponential type model of the f(R,φ)theory of gravity f(R,φ)=φ(R+α(eβR-1)).We show the embedded class-I approach via a static,spherically symmetric spacetime with an anisotropic *** accomplish our objective,we use a particular interpretation of metric potential(grr)that has already been given in the literature and then presume the Karmarkar condition to derive the second metric *** employ distinct compact stars to determine the values of unknown parameters emerging in metric *** ensure the viability and consistency of our exponential model,we execute distinct physical evolutions,*** graphical structure of energy density and pressure evolution,mass function,adiabatic index,stability,equilibrium,and energy *** investigation reveals that the observed anisotropic findings are physically appropriate and have the highest level of precision.

Appraisal of Biofertilizers in Rice: To Supplement Inorganic Chemical Fertilizer

A field experiment was carried out to evaluate the feasibility of inoculating rice seedlings with biofertilizers(Azospirillum and Trichoderma) in order to reduce the use of chemical inorganic nitrogen(N)fertilizer on rice variety BU Dhan 1. The plant performances were better when 25% less inorganic N was applied with Trichoderma and combined application of Trichoderma and Azospirillum. Plants contained the highest chlorophyll concentrations when they were treated with 75% N + Trichoderma. Considering the yield attributes, 75% N + Trichoderma and 75% N + Trichoderma + Azospirillum performed similar to the control. The grain yield of rice was similar to the recommended dose even with 25% less N application. Application of Trichoderma resulted higher yield, followed by combined application with Azospirillum. Results revealed the greater scope of applying biofertilizer(Trichoderma) to supplement chemical N fertilizer with optimum yield of rice.

Photodetachment of H^- near a hard wall with arbitrary laser polarization direction

The photodetachment of H-near a hard wall is investigated with linear polarized laser light travelling in arbitrary direction θL with respect to the z axis. An analytical formula for the total cross section is derived using semi-classical closed orbit theory, which consists of two terms, i.e., the smooth background term and the oscillatory term with an extra factor 2(θL). This factor controls oscillations in the total photodetachment cross section. The amplitude of oscillation is maximum at θL = 0 when the laser polarization direction is perpendicular to the wall and it approaches zero at θL = π /2when the laser polarization direction is parallel to the wall. It is also observed that the total cross section depends on the source–wall distance and it reduces to a free space case when the wall is at infinite distance from the source.
