Genetic dissection and origin of pleiotropic loci underlying multilevel fiber quality traits in upland cotton(Gossypium hirsutum L.)

Cotton fiber quality is a persistent concern that determines planting benefits and the quality of finished textile ***,the limitations of measurement instruments have hindered the accurate evaluation of some important fiber characteristics such as fiber maturity,fineness,and neps,which in turn has impeded the genetic improvement and industrial utilization of cotton ***,12 single fiber quality traits were measured using Advanced Fiber Information System(AFIS)equipment among 383 accessions of upland cotton(Gossypium hirsutum L.).In addition,eight conventional fiber quality traits were assessed by the high Volume Instrument(hVI)***-wide association study(GWAS),linkage disequilibrium(LD)block genotyping and functional identification were conducted sequentially to uncover the associated elite loci and candidate genes of fiber quality *** a result,the previously reported pleiotropic locus FL_D11 regulating fiber length-related traits was identified in this *** importantly,three novel pleiotropic loci(FM_A03,FF_A05,and FN_A07)regulating fiber maturity,fineness and neps,respectively,were detected based on AFIS *** highly promising candidate genes were screened out by integrating RNA-seq and qRT-PCR analyses,including the reported GhKRP6 for fiber length,the newly identified GhMAP8 for maturity and GhDFR for *** origin and evolutionary analysis of pleiotropic loci indicated that the selection pressure on FL_D11,FM_A03 and FF_A05 increased as the breeding period approached the present and the origins of FM_A03 and FF_A05 were traced back to cotton *** findings reveal the genetic basis underlying fiber quality and provide insight into the genetic improvement and textile utilization of fiber in ***.

Low-fat microwaved peanut snacks production:Effect of defatting treatment on structural characteristics,texture,color,and nutrition

This study develops low-fat microwaved peanut snacks(LMPS)using partially defatted peanuts(PDP)with different defatting ratios,catering to people’s pursuit of healthy,low-fat *** effects of defatting treatment on the structural characteristics,texture,color,and nutrient composition of LMPS were comprehensively *** structural characteristics of LMPS were characterized using X-ray micro-computed tomography(Micro-CT)and scanning electron microscope(SEM).The results demonstrated that the porosity,pore number,pore volume,brightness,brittleness,protein content,and total sugar content of LMPS all significantly increased(Ph the increase in the defatting *** the micro level,porous structure,cell wall rupture,and loss of intracellular material could be observed in LMPS after defatting *** made from PDP with a defatting ratio of 64.44%had the highest internal pore structural parameters(porosity 59%,pore number 85.3×10^(5),pore volume 68.23 mm3),the brightest color(L^(*) 78.39±0.39),the best brittleness(3.64±0.21)mm^(–1)),and the best nutrition(high protein content,(34.02±0.38)%;high total sugar content,(17.45±0.59)%;low-fat content,(27.58±0.85)%).The study provides a theoretical basis for the quality improvement of LMPS.

Diagnosing various diseases such as glaucoma,age-related macular degeneration,cardiovascular conditions,and diabetic retinopathy involves segmenting retinal blood *** task is particularly challenging when dealing with color fundus images due to issues like non-uniformillumination,low contrast,and variations in vessel appearance,especially in the presence of different ***,the speed of the retinal vessel segmentation system is of utmost *** the surge of now available big data,the speed of the algorithm becomes increasingly important,carrying almost equivalent weightage to the accuracy of the *** address these challenges,we present a novel approach for retinal vessel segmentation,leveraging efficient and robust techniques based on multiscale line detection and mathematical *** algorithm’s performance is evaluated on two publicly available datasets,namely the Digital Retinal Images for Vessel Extraction dataset(DRIVE)and the Structure Analysis of Retina(STARE)*** experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our method,withmean accuracy values of 0.9467 forDRIVE and 0.9535 for STARE datasets,aswell as sensitivity values of 0.6952 forDRIVE and 0.6809 for STARE ***,our algorithmexhibits competitive performance with state-of-the-art ***,it operates at an average speed of 3.73 s per image for DRIVE and 3.75 s for STARE *** is worth noting that these results were achieved using Matlab scripts containing multiple *** suggests that the processing time can be further reduced by replacing loops with *** the proposed algorithm can be deployed in real time *** summary,our proposed system strikes a fine balance between swift computation and accuracy that is on par with the best available methods in the field.

针对现有软体气动机器人制备成本高、设计灵活性差、功率密度低、控制技术复杂等问题,文章以鞘芯结构的涤纶∕氨纶弹性纱为基材编织针织罗纹组织,以涤纶纱为纬向衬垫纱间隔织入,形成力学各向异性的针织衬纬组织,并将该衬纬组织作为包覆层与气囊内胆装配,实现具有高致动应变、低能量耗散的高性能纺织基气动机器人开发。文章通过力学性能和驱动变形测试,表征分析了衬纬组织织物层的各向异性力学特征和针脚排列方式等因素对软体机器人驱动性能、变形特征、输出力和运动状态的影响规律。结果表明:纺织基软体机器人展现了优良的弯曲应变(弯曲曲率可达0.27 cm^(-1)),高的驱动力输出(13 N∕kg)。此外,开发的纺织基气动机器人具有低成本、设计灵活快捷、操控简单等优势,可通过编织结构设计和针脚方向的配置实现多模式的复杂变形,在可穿戴医疗康复训练设备和软体抓取器件等领域具有可观的应用前景。

Mo_(2)C is an excellent electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction(hER).however,Mo_(2)C is a poor electrocatalyst for oxygen evolution reaction(OER).herein,two different elements,namely Co and Fe,are incorporated in Mo_(2)C that,therefore,has a finely tuned electronic structure,which is not achievable by incorporation of any one of the ***,the resulting electrocatalyst Co_(0.8)Fe_(0.2)-Mo_(2)C-80 displayed excellent OER catalytic performance,which is evidenced by a low overpotential of 214.0(and 246.5)mV to attain a current density of 10(and 50)mA cm^(-2),an ultralow Tafel slope of 38.4 mV dec^(-1),and longterm stability in alkaline *** data demonstrates that Co_(0.8)Fe_(0.2)-Mo_(2)C-80 requires the lowest overpotential(1.00 V)for OER and Co centers to be the active *** ultrahigh catalytic performance of the electrocatalyst is attributed to the excellent intrinsic catalytic activity due to high Brunauer-Emmett-Teller specific surface area,large electrochemically active surface area,small Tafel slope,and low chargetransfer resistance.

Fishing boats have unique features that make them prone to changing loading *** the boat leaves the port,the empty fish tank gradually fills up during fishing operations which may result in parametric roll(PR).This dangerous phenomenon that can lead to *** present study aims to understand better the behaviour of parametric roll in fishing boats and its relation to changing loading *** study considers the effects of displacement and the GM/KM ratio on parametric roll,as well as the longitudinal flare distribution at the *** assessments to detect the parametric roll occurrence in early stage were carried out by using the level 1 assessment of parametric roll based on the Second Generation of Intact Stability criteria(SGIS)from International maritime Organisation(IMO)and the Susceptibility criteria of Parametric roll from the American Bureau of Shipping(ABS).Then,the CFD method is used to predict the amplitude of the parametric roll *** results provide important insights to fishing vessel operators on how to manage loading conditions to maintain stability and avoid hazardous *** following the guidelines outlined in this study,fishing boats can operate more safely and efficiently,reducing the risk of accidents and improving the overall sustainability of the fishing industry.
