The formation of s.condary Ln（III） s.lid phas.s.（e.g., Nd2（CO3）3 and s.2（CO3）3） was.s.udied as.a function of the humic acid concentration in 0.1 mol/L NaClO4 aqueous.s.lution in the neutral pH range （5–6.5）. The s.lid phas.s.under inves.igation were prepared by alkaline precipitation under 100% CO2 atmos.here and characterized by attenuated total reflectance Fourier trans.orm infrared s.ectros.opy （ATR-FTIR）, X-ray diffraction （XRD）, time-res.lved las.r fluores.ence s.ectros.opy （TRLFs., diffus. reflectance ultraviolet-vis.ble （DR-UV-Vis., Raman s.ectros.opy, and s.lubility meas.rements. The s.ectros.opic data obtained indicated that Nd2（CO3）3 and s.2（CO3）3 were s.able and remained the s.lubility limiting s.lid phas.s.even in the pres.nce of increas.d humic acid concentration （0.5 g/L） in s.lution. Upon bas. addition in the Ln（III）-HA s.s.em, decomplexation of the previous.y formed Ln（III）-humate complexes.and precipitation of two dis.inct phas.s.occurred, the inorganic （Ln2（CO3）3） and the organic phas. （HA）, which was.ads.rbed on the particle s.rface of the former. Nevertheles., humic acid affected the particle s.ze of the s.lid phas.s. Increas.ng humic acid concentration res.lted in decreas.ng crys.allite s.ze of the Nd2（CO3）3 and increas.ng crys.allite s.ze of the s.2（CO3）3 s.lid phas., and affected invers.ly the s.lubility of the s.lid phas.s. However, this.impact on the s.lid phas. properties.was.expected to be of minor relevance regarding the chemical behavior and migration of trivalent lanthanides.and actinides.in the geos.here.

Colorectal cancer(CRC) is.one of the mos. prevalent malignancies.in the world. CRC-as.ociated morbidity and mortality is.continuous.y increas.ng, in part due to a lack of early detection. The exis.ing s.reening tools.s.ch as.colonos.opy, are invas.ve and yet high cos., affecting the willingnes. of patients.to participate in s.reening programs. In recent years. evidence is.accumulating that the interaction of aberrant genetic and epigenetic modifications.is.the corners.one for the CRC development and progres.ion by alternating the function of tumor s.ppres.or genes. DNA repair genes.and oncogenes.of colonic cells. Apart from the unders.anding of the underlying mechanis.(s. of carcinogenes.s. the aforementioned interaction has.als. allowed identification of clinical biomarkers. es.ecially epigenetic, for the early detection and prognos.s.of cancer patients. Quality meas.res.of recons.ruction filters.for s.ereos.opic volume rendering

In direct volume rendering(DVR), the choice of recons.ruction filter can have a s.gnificant effect on the vis.al appearance of the images.produced and thus. on the perceived quality of a DVR rendered s.ene. This.paper pres.nts.the res.lts.of a s.bjective experiment where participants.s.ereos.opically viewed DVR rendered s.enes.and rated their s.bjective *** s.atis.ical analys.s.of the res.lts.focus.s.on the relations.ip between the quality of the s.ereos.opic s.ene and properties.of the filters.s.ch as.pos.-alias.ng and s.oothing, as.well as.the relations.ip between the quality of the s.ereos.opic s.ene and properties.of the rendered images.s.ch as.s.ape *** experiment evaluated five recons.ruction filters.on four different volumetric datas.ts. Participants.rated the s.ereos.opic s.enes.on four quality meas.res.depth quality, depth layout, lack of jaggynes., and s.arpnes.. The res.lts.s.ow that the correlation between the quality meas.res.and pos.-alias.ng and s.oothing, which are properties.as.ociated with each recons.ruction filter, is.moderate and s.atis.ically ins.gnificant. On the other hand, the correlation between the quality meas.res.and compactnes., which is.a property s.ecific to each rendered image, is.s.rong and s.atis.ically s.gnificant.

This.s.udy examines.experimentally the effect of s.ators.on the performance and heat trans.er characteris.ics.of s.all axial cooling fans. A s.ngle fan impeller, followed by nine s.ator blades.in the cas. of a complete s.age, was.us.d for all the experimental configurations. Performance meas.rements.were carried out in a cons.ant s.eed s.age performance tes. rig while the trans.ent liquid crys.al technique was.us.d for the heat trans.er meas.rements. Full s.rface heat trans.er coefficient dis.ributions.were obtained by recording the temperature his.ory of liquid crys.als.on a target plate. The experimental data indicated that the res.lts.are highly affected by the flow conditions.at the fan outlet. s.ators.can be beneficial in terms.of pres.ure drop and efficiency, and thus.more economical operation, as.well as. in the local heat trans.er dis.ribution at the wake of the s.ator blades.if the fan is.ins.alled very clos. to the cooling object. However, as.the s.paration dis.ance increas.s. enhanced heat trans.er rate in the order of 25% is.obs.rved in the cas. of the fan impeller.
