The X-ray spectra of Nb surface induced by Arq+ (q =16,17) ions with the energy range from 10 to 20 keV/q were studied by the optical spectrum technology. The experimental results indicate that the multi-electron excitation occurred as a highly charged Ar16+ ion was neutralized below the metal surface. The K shell electron of Ar16+ was excited and then de-excited cascadly to emit K X-ray. The intensity of the X-ray emitted from K shell of the hollow Ar atom decreased with the increase of projectile kinetic energy. The intensity of the X-ray emitted from L shell of the target atom Nb increased with the increase of projectile kinetic energy. The X-ray yield of Ar17+ is three magnitude orders larger than that of Ar16+.

We simulate a two-dimensional model of a round soft boundary enclosed with self-propelled particles. Persistent motion drives these particles to accumulate near the boundary, thereby dramatically deforming the boundary shape through collisions. Quantitative analyses of the boundary shape and the particle distribution show that there are two typical regimes in the variation of the morphology with the increase of self-propulsion of particles. One is under small forces, characterized by the radially inhomogeneous distribution of particles and the suppression of local fluctuations of the almost round boundary, and the other is under large forces, featured by the angularly inhomogeneous distribution of particles and the global shape deformation of the boundary. These two features are strongly cooperative. We also find different mechanisms in the particle relocation at low and high particle concentrations.

Adsorption of Cr(Ⅵ) and p-chloroaniline on three typical soil colloids and pH influence were studied using batch equilibrium method. Both of Cr(Ⅵ) and p-chloroaniline adsorption on the colloids could be well described by general adsorption simulation equations. The adsorption processes changed with media pH. When Cr(Ⅵ) and p-chloroaniline coexisted on soil colloids, their interactions could be observed in a certain pH range to be accompanied with Cr(Ⅵ) reduction, which clearly suggested that a surface catalytic reaction occurred in this system. Soil colloid acted as an efficient catalyst for the interaction of Cr(Ⅵ) and p-chloroaniline. The pH values at which no interaction was observed were 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0 for the colloids of indigotic black soil, yellow-brown soil and latosol, respectively. Capillary electrophoresis used to analyze p-chloroaniline provided a high separation efficiency and short separation time, and needed no more extensive pretreatment of samples.

Quartz-eclogite blocks were discovered in Shuanghe area of the Dabie Mountains, which belongs to theso-called hot eclogite terrain. The peak metamorphic assemblage of the eclogites is garnet + omphacite +phengite + kyanite + rutile + quartz. Their P-T conditions are estimated as p=2.0 GPa and T=700℃ byusing g arn et- omph acite-ph en gi ie b arc m eter and garn et- omph ac lie thermometer. Tecton ic ally, thecontrast in peak metamorphic temperatures is more significant. Therefore, the quaftz-eclogite inShuanghe could also be considered as "hot" eclogite, although it experienced no UHP metamorphism.

Androgen-induced proliferation shutoff gene AS3. also known as APRIN, is a growth inhibitory gene that is initially implicated in prostate cancer. This gene is required for androgen-dependent growth arrest and is a primary target for 1,25(OH)2D3.and androgens. Alle- lic loss at AS3.locus has been linked to a variety of cancers. However, the correlation of genomic and expression alterations of AS3.with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is not well established. In this study, the genomic and expression alterations of AS3.in ESCC and their clinical significance are evaluated. Loss of heterozygosity (LOH) analysis using an AS3.intragenic microsatellite marker D13.171 revealed 72% allelic loss at AS3.locus in ESCC, which is significantly correlated with higher pathological grade (P=0.042). RT-PCR examination showed that AS3.mRNA obviously decreased in 44% tumors and its down-regulation was correlated with the sex of patients (P=0.03.. Furthermore, the correlation between genomic and expression alterations of AS3.gene was analyzed in 18 ESCC specimens, which indicated that the consistency between allelic loss and decreased mRNA expression of AS3.was relatively poor. The results of this study indicate that the aberrant expression of AS3.may be involved in the tumorigenesis of esophagus and is responsible for the male predominance of ESCC.

It is well documented that γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) system existed in reproductive organs. Recent researches showed that GABA_A and GABA_B receptors were present in testis and sperm, and might mediate the acrosome reaction induced by GABA and progesterone. GABA transporter Ⅰ (GAT1) also existed in testis and sperm, but its physiological function was unknown. In the present study, we used GAT1 overexpressing mice to explore GAT1 function in male reproductive system. We found that the expression level of GAT1 continuously increased in wild-type mouse testis from 1 month to 2 months after birth. GAT1 overexpression in mouse affected testis development, which embodied reduced testis mass and slowed spermatogenesis in transgenic mice. Moreover, transgenic mice showed increase of the percentage of broken sperm. The further study revealed that the reproductive capacity was impaired in GAT1 overexpressing mice. The morphology. orientation relationship and stability of TiC/γ interface in Fe-Cr-Ni base composite synthesized with a liquid state in-situ process have been studied. The TiC/γ interface in as-cast sample is of coherent feature. Its orientation relationship is (020)γ／／(220)TiC, [001]γ||[001]TiC. During the aging at 1473.K, the TiC/γ interface may dissolve in matrix and lamellar M23.6 compound may precipitate from γ-matrix.
