Firewood Saving Stoves Disseminated in Rural Western Regions

Starting from the beginning of the 1980's, the Chinese Government has been promoting renovation of stoves and firewood conservation in a planned and organized manner in rural area, which has achieved great success and attracted worldwide *** the end of 2005, renovation of stoves has reached 189 million farmer households,equivalent to a saving of 57.6 million TCE and protection of 94.5 million mu of forestland,it not only mitigated the severe shortage of domestic energy supply in rural areas, but also achieved great social and economic benefits.

In line with resources,demands and economic situation of the demonstration villages of four different areas,the Sino-the Netherlands Cooperation Project combined 12 items of renewable energy technologies into 5 combinations on which construction models are established for 4 types of *** the social and economic situation of the demonstration villages,the project construction activities are grouped as basic,demonstration and public goods *** categorization of technical models and project construction bears guiding significance to the integrated development of rural renewable energy in the future and it hence reflected the thoughts of integrated construction and sustainable development.
