Poe.ilia re.iculata. Gravid and nongravid gup- pie. colle.te. from high- and low.pre.ation pre.sure.populations w.re.e.pose. to se.ial dilutions of conspe.ific che.ical alarm cue.. Our re.ults de.onstrate.that the.e.w.s ＇no e.fe.t of re.roduct- ive.status on the.re.ponse.of fe.ale. originating from a low.pre.ation population, w.th both gravid and nongravid guppie. e.hibiting strong anti-pre.ator re.ponse. to the.low.st conce.tration of alarm cue. te.te.. In the.first se.ie. of trials, juve. nile.cichlids and trout w.re.e.pose. to ure. at varying conce.trations （0 to 0.5 mg L-1 for cichlids and 0 to 1.0 mg L1 for trout）.
