Ethylene-propene copolymers have been synthesized by three C1-symmetric metallocene molecules(1,2,and 3),having tert-butyl substituents on the Cp moiety,on the fluorenyl moiety,or on both moieties,and methylaluminoxane(MAO)at different polymerization temperatures and monomer *** were investigated by 13 C-NMR,1 H-NMR,and SEC analyses.A relationship was found between[EEE]/[E]ratios and copolymer molar masses in each series:the higher the[EEE]/[E]ratio,the lower the copolymer molar *** parity of[EEE]/[E]ratio,copolymer molar mass follows the order 1>>3>*** end group analysis reveals that copolymers mainly terminate when propene is the last inserted unit,confirming that it is the greater facility of Mt-P-E-poly(E-co-P)to terminate that influences the copolymer molar *** the catalysts considered,catalyst 1,which gives syndiospecific polypropene,gives greater activities,comonomer incorporation,and molar *** 3,which gives isospecific polypropene,in copolymerization performs better than 2,having the same bridge,with respect to activities,ethylene content,and molar *** good performance of this catalyst arises from the not necessity of polymer chain to back skip when ethylene is the last inserted unit.

Simple sequence repeat (SSR) or microsatellite markers, are a valuable tool for several purposes such as evaluation of genetic diversity, fingerprinting, marker assisted selection, and breeding. Recent developments in sequencing technologies and bioinformatics analyses provide new opportunity to produce a high number of less costly SSRs. Here, we used for the first time a wholegenome shotgun sequencing of the nuclear genome and transcriptome of hemp to develop microsatellite markers for C. sativa L. (hemp). Hemp is an ancient crop that is widely cultivated as a source of fiber, seeds and medicine. The analysis using the MISA program revealed a total of 407,491 SSRs (from mono-nucleotide to deca-nucleotide) in the hemp genome and 15,655 SSRs in the transcriptome. Analysis of the frequency and distribution of SSRs showed that the mono-nucleotide repeats were the most abundant (55.4%) in the genome whereas the tri-nucleotide motifs (30.4%) resulted highly predominant in the transcriptome. Poly A/T was predominant over poly G/C in both genome and transcriptome sequences. Among the tri-nucleotide repeats AAG/CTT (34.5%) resulted the most abundant in the transcriptome. Repeats larger than tri-nucleotide were also observed in the hemp genome and transcriptome. Dinucleotide and tri-nucleotide repeat expansion of 8605 and 1401 times iteration were observed however, other SSR expansion more than 387 times repetition was not found. Primers were designed for amplification of few long microsatellite sequences which could be used to identify polymorphism and to study genetic diversity among hemp cultivars.

Glucosinolate content in Camelina sativa (L.) Crantz (false flax, gold-of-pleasure) and its relatives C. microcarpa, C. alyssum, C. rumelica and C. hispida was investigated. With the exception of C. hispida in which GSL3 was absent, in all remaining species, three characteristic glucosinolates (GSL1, GSL2 and GSL3) were identified. Camelina genotypes of spring type (C. sativa CAM134, C. alyssum CAM21) showed a typical pattern of glucosenolates with GSL1 > GSL3. GSL1 was present in traces in C. microcarpa and at low levels in C. rumelica and C. alyssum subsp. alyssum. In C. hispida, the GSL1 content was greater than GSL2 and, only in this specie, GSL2 represented less than 50% of total glucosinolates. These differences in the glucosinolate pattern among Camelina species could be exploited to reduce the total content of glucosinolates in C. sativa.

Interest on the genus Camelina has recently increased due to the biofuel, or jet fuel, potential of the oil extracted from seeds of the cultivated species Camelina sativa (L.) Crantz. While our knowledge on C. sativa is constantly augmenting, only few studies have been performed on the other species of the genus, which could be a potentially useful material for the genetic improvement of C. sativa. The genus Camelina consists of 11 species, but only six (C. sativa, C. microcarpa, C. alyssum, C. rumelica, C. hispida and C. laxa) could be retrieved from germplasm banks to carry out genomic fingerprinting studies based on the use of the cTBP molecular marker. Each species, with the exception of C. alyssum that is proposed to be a subspecies of C. sativa, shows a distinct cTBP profile resulting from multiple DNA length polymorphisms present in the second intron of the members of the β-tubulin gene family. In contrast to the high level of genetic diversity detected among the six Camelina species, low variability is observed among and within the accessions of the same species, except for C. hispida that is characterized by an intra-accession high number of cTBP polymorphic bands. In addition, cTBP is also able to identify incorrectly classified accessions and provide information on the ploidy level of each species.

Histoacryl glue is used increasingly for the treatment of gastric and ectopic varices, and there is experience in its use for oesophageal varices. It is an effective treatment, yet numerous reports of complications have accumulated. This review of the literature describes the technique, explores circulatory and vascular consideration unique to portal hypertension and categorises the complications into: "Embolisation", "local venous thrombosis", "fistulisation and extravascular injection", "ulceration, erosion and extrusion", and "nidus of infection". A case is then made for standardisation of the technique and the consent process.

Pulmonary vein(PV) isolation is a curative treatment for patients with atrial fibrillation. The aim of this study was to evaluate prospectively the effects of adenosine administration on the PV activity and atrio-venous conduction after PV isolation. Twenty-nine patients(21 m; age: 55±8 years) were submitted to ostial PV isolation guided by basket catheter recordings. After successful isolation, the effects of a 12 mg intravenous bolus of adenosine were tested in 62 PVs. In 22/62 PVs (35%), left atrium(LA)-to-PV conduction was transiently (16.6±7.1 s, range: 3.8-27.9 s) or permanently(3 PVs) restored in response to adenosine administration. The prevalence of this phenomenon was 39%in left superior PVs, 43%in right superior PVs, and 22%in left inferior PVs(p=0.365). It occurred more frequently in the presence of dissociated PV activity (11/15 PVs, 73%vs. 11/47 PVs, 23%; p=0.002), whereas it was not influenced by the median duration of the radiofrequency current (RFC) delivery for each PV [19 (IQR: 12-26) min vs. 16 (IQR: 11-24) min; p=0.636]. A lengthening or shortening of the LA-PV conduction time was observed at LA-PV conduction appearance and disappearance in 36%and 55%of the cases, respectively. Further RFC applications(median: 5.5 min, IQR: 4-11 min) at the residual conduction breakthrough(s) indicated by the basket catheter recordings definitively eliminated adenosine-induced recovery of LA-PV conduction in all cases. Finally, when present, intrinsic PV discharge was invariably depressed by adenosine administration. Adenosine may transiently or permanently re-establish LA-PV conduction after apparently successful PV isolation. This phenomenon is abolished by additional RFC delivery. However, its possible influence on the clinical results of PV ablation must be evaluated by properly designed, randomized studies.

The Impact of Corporate Governance on Banks Performance and Loan Quality： Evidence From Italian Cooperative Banks

In the banking system, a context characterized by growing instability and by the speed of evolution of business dynamics, the system of corporate governance plays a key role, both for large banks and for banks with a smaller size. The paper aims to investigate the influence of corporate governance of the banks that operate in the cooperative credit system on performance and quality of loans, over the years 2010-2011-2012. In order to achieve this aim, the following research hypotheses have been formulated: There is a statistically significant relationship between the size and the structure of the board and banks performance operating in the cooperative credit system; there is a statistically significant relationship between the size and structure of the board and the credit quality of banks operating in the cooperative credit system. The analysis is conducted on a sample composed of 48 Italian banks, divided into 24 cooperative banks and 24 popular banks. The sample is made up of banks from all over Italy and very different in terms of dimension. For the sample construction, data relative to governance of banks were collected from the balance sheets in the period from June to August 2014. Financial-economic data were collected from the Financial Statements and from Bankscope database. The methodology of analysis is based on multivariate OLS (ordinary least squares) regression models. The main results refer to the presence of significant relationships between board dimension and the quality of loans and among the number of committees and performance and the quality of loans. The presence of a significant and negative relationship between the board dimension and the ratio of impaired loans to gross loans indicates the possibility that enlargement of board dimension allows a better quality of loans.
