The soil microbiome that plays important ecological roles in mountains and forests is influenced by anthropogenic and natural *** activity,particularly harvesting or thinning,affects the soil microbiome in forests by altering environmental conditions,such as vegetation,microclimate,and soil physicochemical *** purpose of this study was to investigate the effects on forest thinning on the diversity and composition of the soil bacterial *** next-generation sequencing results of the 16S rRNA gene,we examined differences in soil bacterial diversity and community composition before and after thinning at ***,South *** identified 40 phyla,103 classes,192 orders,412families,947 genera,and 3,145 species from the soil *** and Proteobacteria were the most dominant bacterial phyla in the forest soil of *** bacterial diversity measures(richness,Shannon diversity index,and evenness)at the phylum level increased after thinning,whereas species-level taxonomic richness decreased after *** provided new opportunities for bacterial species in Chloroflexi,Verrucomicrobia,Nitrospirae,and other nondominant bacterial taxa,especially for those not found in *** before thinning,to settle and adapt to the changing *** results suggested that thinning affected the diversity and composition of soil bacterial communities in forests and mountains.

The sensitivity and the recovery behavior of SnO_2-based gas sensor prepared from a commercial SnO_2 powder were tested under the low concentration of DMMP(0.5μg/g) in the flow system at 350℃.In order to improve the sensitivity of the sensor,promoters such as NiO,Nb_2O_5,MoO_3,and Sb_2O_3 were added into SnO_2 *** sensitivities were increased up to 80% from 50% but they were not *** the SnO2-based gas sensor promoted with MoO_3 and Sb_2O_3 was recovered after detection of DMMP,although the recovery rate was *** particular,the SnO_2-based sensor promoted with 5wt% of MoO_3 and 1wt% of Sb_2O_3 simultaneously showed an complete recovery ability,though its sensitivity was 40% which was lower than that of SnO_2 gas sensor without *** ability was discussed in terms of catalytic roles of promoters.

A comparative study with kerosene and hydrogen fuel in a model scramjet combustor has been carried out nu- merically. The effect of fuel-air equivalence ratio on the flow field properties in a cavity based mixing mechanism at a freestream Math number of 2.08 has been probed. The investigation has been carried out in a two dimension- al numerical model where a cavity of length to depth ratio of 2 is mounted on one of the walls of the flow channel The flow field shock structure is observed to change with the change in fuel-air equivalence ratio. Total pressure loss is observed to depend both on fuel air equivalence ratio and the fuel type. The spread of fuel in the test sec- tion shows marked variation with the equivalence ratio. Performance of injector location on the fuel-air mixing is also probed during the course of the investigation.

Polysaccharide-based bionanocomposite hydrogels with functional nanomaterials were used in biomed- ical applications. Self-organization of xanthan gum and chitosan in the presence of iron oxide magnetic nanoparticles （Fe304 MNPs） allowed us to form magnetically responsive polyelectrolyte complex hydro- gels （MPECHs） via insitu ionic complexation using D-（＋）-glucuronic acid ^-lactone as a green acidifying agent. Characterization confirmed the successful formation of （and structural interactions within） the MPECH and good porous structure. The rheological behavior and compressive properties of the PECH and MPECH were measured. The results indicated that the incorporation of Fe304 MNPs into the PECH greatly improved mechanical properties and storage modulus （G＇）. In vitro cell culture of NIH3T3 fibroblasts on MPECHs showed improvements in cell proliferation and adhesion in an external magnetic field relative to the pristine PECH. The results showed that the newly developed MPECH could potentially be used as a magnetically stimulated system in tissue engineering applications.

BACKGROUND：Prothymosinα（PTMA）is a nuclear oncoprotein-transcription factor essential for cell cycle progression and *** was overexpressed in several human malignancies including hepatocellular carcinoma（HCC）.However,the prognostic significance of PTMA protein expression in HCC remains *** the present study,we evaluated PTMA protein expression by immunohistochemistry in order to elucidate the prognostic roles of PTMA in HCC ***： By immunohistochemistry, we investigated the expression of PTMA protein in tumor tissue from 226 HCC patients who underwent curative hepatectomy. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to evaluate its predic- tive value for tumor recurrence and survival of patients. The median follow-up period was 120 months. RESULTS： PTMA expression was observed in 162 （71.7%） of the 226 HCC patients and was significantly associated with higher Edmondson grade, microvascular invasion, intrahe- patic metastasis, higher American Joint Committee on Cancer （AJCC） T-stage, and lower albumin level. PTMA expression was an independent predictor of early recurrence （P=0.001）. PTMA expression showed an unfavorable influence on recurrence- free survival （RFS）（P〈0.001）. Subgroup analysis showed that among patients with tumor size _〈5.0 cm （140 patients）, patients at AJCC T-stage I （95 patients） and patients with a-fetoprotein ≤20 ng/mL （83 patients）, the differences in RFS between PTMA- positive and PTMA-negative groups were also statistically sig- nificant （P=0.017, P=0.002 and P=0.002, respectively）. In addi- tion, PTMA expression was an independent predictor of shorter RFS （P=0.011）. PTMA expression showed an unfavorable influ- ence on overall survival （P=0.014）, but was not an independent predictor of shorter overall survival （P=0.161）. CONCLUSIONS： PTMA protein expression might be a novel predictor of early recurrence and RFS in HCC patients, even those at early stage or with a-fetoprotein-negative after curative hep

The support plates including all of the inner hulls such as E grade steel, weld seams and SUS304L were considered to establish the optimal stud welding condition in LNG ship building. The stainless steel plate was especially applied to the bracket on the liquid dome. The polished and etched surfaces of the welded stud and support plate were examined if the bead was properly formed. With the micrographic examination, the fusion boundary of metal weld zone formed by stud welding was analyzed to optimize the welding parameters. And also the analysis of the unacceptable welding faults such as cold and hot weld were performed. The mechanical tests such as tensile tests and bending tests were carried out to reveal any abnormal variation in the relationship of process parameters and the strength.

In sports, virtual spaces are sometimes utilized to enhance performance or user experience. In this study, we conducted a frequency analysis, semantic network analysis, and topic modeling using 134 abstracts obtained through keyword searches focusing on “sport(s)” in combination with “metaverse”, “augmented reality”, “virtual reality”, “lifelogging”, and “mixed reality”. First, the top 20 words were extracted through frequency analysis, and then each type of extracted word was retained to select seven words. The analysis revealed the emergence of key themes such as “user(s)”, “game(s)”, “technolog(y/ies)”, “experience(d)”, “physical”, “training”, and “video”, with variations in intensity depending on the type of metaverse. Second, the relationships between the words were reconfirmed using semantic networks based on the seven selected words. Finally, topic modeling analysis was conducted to uncover themes specific to each type of metaverse. We also found that “performance/scoring” was a prominent word across all types of metaverses. This suggests that in addition to providing enjoyment through sports, there is a high possibility that all users (both general users and athletes) utilize the metaverse to achieve positive outcomes and success. The importance of “performance/scoring” in sports may seem obvious;however, it also provides significant insights for practitioners when combined with metaverse-related keywords. Ultimately, this study has managerial implications for enhancing the performance of specialized users in the sports industry.

Gastric cancer is the fourth most common type ofcancer and represents a major cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. With recent biomedical advances in our understanding of the molecular characteristics of gastric cancer, many genetic alterations have been identified as potential targets for its treatment. Multiple novel agents are currently under development as the demand for active agents that improve the survival of gastric cancer patients constantly increases. Based on lessons from previous trials of targeted agents, it is now widely accepted that the establishment of an optimal diagnostic test to select molecularly defined patients is of equal importance to the development of active agents against targetable genetic alterations. Herein, we highlight the current status and future perspectives of companion diagnostics in the treatment of gastric cancer.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are multipotent progenitor cells with therapeutic potential against autoimmune diseases, inflammation, ischemia, and metabolic disorders. Contrary to the previous conceptions, recent studies have revealed that the tissue repair and immunomodulatory functions of MSCs are largely attributed to their secretome, rather than their potential to differentiate into desired cell types. The composition of MSC secretome encompasses cytokines and growth factors, in addition to the cell-derived structures known as extracellular vesicles (EVs). EVs are membrane-enclosed nanoparticles that are capable of delivering biomolecules, and it is now believed that MSC-derived EVs are the major players that induce biological changes in the target tissues. Based on these EVs’ characteristics, the potential of EVs derived from MSC (MSC-EV) in terms of tissue regeneration and immune modulation has grown during the last decade. However, the use of MSCs for producing sufficient amount of EVs has not been satisfactory due to limitations in the cell growth and large variations among the donor cell types. In this regard, pluripotent stem cells (PSCs)-derived MSC-like cells, which can be robustly induced and expanded in vitro, have emerged as more accessible cell source that can overcome current limitations of using MSCs for EV production. In this review, we have highlighted the methods of generating MSC-like cells from PSCs and their therapeutic outcome in preclinical studies. Finally, we have also discussed future requirements for making this cell-free therapy clinically feasible.
