The electrochemical reversibility of Mg in hybrid electrolytes based on mixtures of ionic liquid and glyme based organic solvents was investigated for applications in rechargeable magnesium batteries(RMBs). The electrolytes demonstrate reversible reduction and oxidation of Mg only after being pre-treated with the dehydrating agent, magnesium borohydride, Mg[BH_4]_2, highlighting the importance of removing water in Mg based electrolytes. The addition magnesium di[bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide](Mg[TFsI]_2)(0.3 M) to N-butyl-n-methyl-pyrrolidinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide [C4 mpyr][TFsI]/tetraglyme at a mole ratio of 1:2 showed stable CV cycling over almost 300 cycles while scanning electron microscopy(sEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD) confirmed Mg deposition, showing non-dendritic morphology and a well-aligned growth. Further thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) demonstrated a mass retention of 79% at 250℃ for this electrolyte suggesting that the presence of the ionic liquid increases thermal stability substantially making these hybrid electrolytes compatible for RMBs.

Kapok seed oil is an environmentally friendly biodiesel *** problem of the best catalyst for transester-ification of Kapok seed oil still continues *** research developed a base-heterogeneous catalyst with the effect of ultrasonic waves during ***,the study aims:(1)to determine the type of natural zeolite used,(2)to determine the characteristics of the synthesized CaO:BaO/ANZ catalyst,and(3)to determine the effectiveness of the CaO:BaO/ANZ catalyst in the biodiesel production process through sono-transeste rification of kapok seed *** research stages consisted of:(1)activation of natural zeolite and its characterization,(2)preparation of CaO:BaO/ANZ catalyst,(3)characterization of CaO:BaO/ANZ catalyst,(4)esterification and uti-lization of catalyst in the transesterification,(5)analysis of transesterified *** results showed that the natural zeolite type from the southerm area of Malang is mordenite(MOR)***,after the natural zeolite was impregnated,the obtained catalyst compositions were CaO:BaO-9:9/ANZ,CaO:BaO-14:9/ANZ,and CaO:BaO-4:11/ANZ with a surface area of 129.7;124.6;128.5 m^(2)/g,and acidity of 1.037;0.254;and 0.685 mmol/g,*** best catalyst for transesterification of kapok seed oil was CaO:BaO-9:9/ANZ,which resulted in a biodiesel yield of 73.6%with a density of 889.6 kg/m^(3) and kinematic viscosity of 2.987 *** characteristics of the produced biodiesel meet requirement of sNI 7182:2015.

AIM：（1） To compare the prevalence of osteoporosis （t-score ≤-2.5 sD） between stage IV PBC patients, and two groups of age- and sex-matched controls： one with hepatitis C virus （HCV）-related cirrhosis, and the other one consisting of a group of healthy subjects from the general population, （2） to identify the main risk factors for the development of bone loss. METHODs： Thirty-five stage IV PBC patients （mean age 52.5±10 years）, 49 females with HCV-related cirrhosis （mean age 52.9±5.8 years） and 33 healthy females （mean age 51.8±2.22 years） were enrolled in the study. Bone metabolism was evaluated by measuring serum calcium corrected for serum albumin （Ca corr.）, 25-hydroxy vitamin D （25-OH vit D）, parathyroid hormone, osteocaldn. Bone mineral density （BMD） was assessed at the lumbar spine by dual-photon X-ray absorptiometry. REsULTs： Osteoporosis was present in 5/35 PBC patients （14.2%） and in 7/49 HCV-related drrhotic patients （14.3%）, without any statistical difference between the two groups. Among healthy control subjects, none had osteoporosis. No difference was found between the three groups in serum parameters of bone metabolism. Univariate analysis showed that menopausal state and low BMI were significantly correlated with osteoporosis. Multivariate regression analysis showed that menopausal status, BMI〈23, and old age were independent variables significantly correlated with osteoporosis. CONCLUsION： PBC in itself has no negative influence on BMD. End-stage liver disease patients carry a disease-specific risk for osteoporosis, but have an effective risk of bone loss in relation to individual potential risk for each patient. A practical message should be taken into account, that is, every effort should be made to prevent osteoporosis when a patient has simple osteopenia, or if it is a woman in or near menopausal age.

Background:Portulaca oleracea L.,a traditional medicine with bioactive compounds like flavonoids and omega-3 fatty acids,has gained interest in its neuroendocrine and toxicological ***:The aim of this review is to provide a comprehensive summary of the current knowledge on the neuroendocrine and toxicological activities of Portulaca *** review also highlights the potential mechanisms of action of these ***:A literature search was conducted using various databases such as PubMed,scienceDirect,and Google *** such as’Portulaca oleracea’,’purslane’,’neuroendocrine activity’,and’toxicological activity’were used to identify relevant *** studies published in English were included in this ***:Portulaca oleracea has been found to improve testicular and cognitive function as well as memory in animal models of Alzheimer’s disease and cerebral ischemia due to its antioxidant,anti-inflammatory properties,anti-anxiety and anti-depressant *** the other hand,Portulaca oleracea has also been reported to possess toxicological *** have shown that high doses of Portulaca oleracea extract can cause liver and kidney damage in animal *** toxic effects of Portulaca oleracea are thought to be due to the presence of oxalates and nitrates in the ***,these toxic effects have not been observed in human studies,where Portulaca oleracea was found to be safe for ***:In conclusion,Portulaca oleracea,a medicinal plant with potential health benefits,has neuroendocrine effects like neuroprotective,anxiolytic,and anti-depressant ***,high doses should be used cautiously due to potential toxicological effects.

It is widely known that maternal physical exercise is able to induce beneficial improvements in offspring cognition; however, the effects of paternal exercise have not been explored in detail. The present study was designed to evaluate the impact of paternal physical exercise on memory and learning, neuroplasticity and DNA methylation levels in the hippocampus of male offspring. Adult male Wistar rats were divided into two groups: sedentary or exercised fathers. The paternal preconception exercise protocol consisted of treadmill running, 20 minutes daily, 5 consecutive days per week for 22 days, while the mothers were not trained. After mating, paternal sperm was collected for global DNA methylation analysis. At postnatal day 53, the offspring were euthanized, and the hippocampus was dissected to measure cell survival by 5-bromo-2′-deoxiuridine and to determine the expression of synaptophysin, reelin, brain-derived neurotrophic factor and global DNA methylation levels. To measure spatial memory and learning changes in offspring, the Morris water maze paradigm was used. There was an improvement in spatial learning, as well as a significant decrease in hippocampal global DNA methylation levels in the offspring from exercised fathers compared with those from sedentary ones; however, no changes were observed in neuroplasticity biomarkers brain-derived neurotrophic factor, reelin and 5-bromo-2′-deoxiuridine. Finally, the global DNA methylation of paternal sperm was not significantly changed by physical exercise. These results suggest a link between paternal preconception physical activity and cognitive benefit, which may be associated with hippocampal epigenetic programming in male offspring. However, the biological mechanisms of this modulation remain unclear.

Including Extra Virgin Olive Oil May More Improve Glycemic Control despite similar Weight Loss Compared to the Diet Recommended by the Prostate Cancer Foundation: A Randomized, Pilot study

Recommendations for prostate cancer treatment include weight loss, but the most efficacious diet has not been determined. Men on active surveillance or with untreated biochemical relapse consumed both the diet recommended by the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) and a plant-based that included three tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil per day for 8 weeks of weight loss and improvement in some laboratory biomarkers with random assignment to the diet order. They then selected one of the diets for six months of follow-up. Thirty men started the protocol and 18 completed the 44 week study. Mean age: 66.6 ± 5.9 years;baseline body mass index: 30.9 ± 2.7 kg/m2. Weight loss was comparable between the diets after 8 weeks (PCF: 2.5% ± 3.1% v olive oil: 2.8% ± 3.7%;p = 0.86), but the diet that included olive oil resulted in lower insulin (PCF: 13.7 ± 7.0 mU/L v olive oil: 11.5 ± 4.4 mU/L;p = 0.02), glucose (PCF: 104.9 ± 9.9 mg/dl v 99.1 ± 9.6 mg/dl;p = 0.01), and HOMA-IR (PCF: 3.6 ± 2.1 v olive oil: 2.9 ± 1.2;p = 0.02). Thirteen of the 18 men choose the olive oil diet for six months of follow-up and weight loss and lab improvements were maintained. This pilot study indicates that both the PCF diet and the plant-based diet that included extra virgin olive oil can produce similar weight loss short-term. However, a plant-based diet that includes extra virgin olive may be more acceptable for long-term use, and produce better glycemic control.
