Chronic gastritis is the persistent and insidious inflammation of the gastric *** pylori(***)has been identified as the most common cause of chronic gastritis and consequently elimination of *** can lead to its *** editorial explores the use of urinary metabolic profiles before and after eradication to identify biomarkers that can aid in prognosis and *** providing promising insights,there are limitations such as a small sample size(17 patients),a narrow treatment period of 2 wk,and treatment heterogeneity,which raise ***,these findings have opened a gateway to enhancing the treatment and prognosis of chronic gastritis through urinary metabolomics.

The yttria-stabilized zirconia(YSZ) thermal barrier coatings(TBCs) prepared by atmospheric plasma spraying with different heat treatment period at the temperature of 1250 1C were studied in the present *** impedance spectroscopy(EIS) was employed to nondestructively examine the impedance and capacitance behavior of free standing YSZ coatings deposited by plasma spray with CMAS(calcium-magnesium-alumino-silicate) *** circuit was established on the basis of the biomodal structure in *** sintering behavior of the coatings can be reflected by the changes of resistance and capacitance of the *** EIS,the microstructure evolution of the coating with CMAS deposits was discussed in detail.

To isolate the causal organism of soft rot of vegetables, diseased samples of potato, tomato, carrot, chilies, and bell pepper, were analyzed in the lab, using nutrient agar (NA) and/or the enrichment host (Bell pepper) technique. Successful isolations were purified by sub-culturing, identified as Erwinia carotovora subsp. carotovora through biochemical tests and their pathogenicity was confirmed through inoculation on green tomato fruits. The isolates were tested for their aggressiveness to find out the most aggressive one in term of producing maximum soft rot on tomatoes. CRD (completely randomized design), with four replication was used and data were analyzed using LSD (least significant test) test. Among the five isolates evaluated for aggressiveness on tomato fruits, chili isolate was found to be the most aggressive followed by tomato and potato isolates producing 22.3 mm, 7.9 mm, and 7.8 mm diameter soft rot lesions, respectively.

Effect of different Zinc doses was investigated against Erwinia carotovora ssp. atroseptica, the potato blackleg/soft rot causing organism, during 2009 and 2010 in Department of Plant Pathology and Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, The University of Agriculture, Peshawar-Pakistan. Out of 200 tested samples, 21 of them were proved to be Eca. However, these tentative Eca isolates showed some characteristics which were unexpected for Eca. We, therefore, decided to perform Polymerase Chain Reaction using Eca-specific primers, Eca1F and Eca2R for confirm identification. For disease management, at the time of sowing, pots containing 5 kg sterilized soil were applied with Zinc in four different treatments i.e. 8 mg, 10 mg, 12 mg and 14 mg along with one control. Results indicated that 12 mg (4.8 kg Zn ha-1) were better doses in controlling the disease up to 73% and increasing the yield up to 117% as compared to control plants.

Introduction: Sever sepsis and septic shock contributes to maternal morbidity and mortality. The etiology of sever sepsis and septic shock during pregnancy and postpartum result from obstetric related or non-obstetric related conditions. Objectives: It aimed to determine rate, characters, morbidity and mortality of septic obstetric cases at Omdurman New Hospital. Methods: It was a descriptive, prospective, analytic, cross-sectional hospital based total coverage study;conducted at Omdurman New Hospital (ONH), Khartoum-Sudan. Results: Sever sepsis and septic shock rate 1.16 (13/1124 = 1.16%) of hospital pregnancy complication admission. Hyperthermia, Tachycardia and hypotension are the main presenting clinical findings and uterine infection is the main focus of sepsis. The mean average Intensive Care Unit (ICU) stay is 6.3-day. Organs dysfunctions are the main morbidity and mortality is reported in five cases. Conclusion: Sever sepsis and septic shock contributes in maternal morbidity and mortality. Safe obstetric care prevents maternal sepsis and improves the outcome. Management of sever sepsis and septic shock remains a challenge in obstetric medicine.

Aims: To improve visualisation of angiographic features in patients with age r elated macular degeneration associated with choroidal neovascularisation (CNV) a nd related complications. To evaluate if image averaging can achieve this goal. Methods: 27 eyes of 20 sequential patients with age related macular degeneration over a 3 month period were studied. Indocyanine green angiograms (ICGA), fluore scein angiograms (FA), and oral fluorescein angiograms were recorded with a conf ocal scanning laser ophthalmoscope. Software was used to average multiple images from a 10-20 image series (over 0.5-1.0 seconds). Image quality was assessed by two masked observers and graded on a scale of 0-3. A more quantifiable gradi ng method was devised by adding a variable amount of Gaussian noise to the impro ved image until the original and image averaged image appeared equal. Results: M asked review showed mild to strong improvement of visualisation of structures in cluding borders of CNV. Improvement varied depending on the type and phase of th e angiogram. Improvement was highest in late phase FA, mid and late phase ICGA, and all phases of oral FA. Conclusion: Image averaging using software based algo rithms improves the quality of angiographic images, particularly late ICGA image s and oral FAs. This method may assist in the visualisation of choroidal neovasc ularisation in age related macular degeneration.
